TLDR: An aesthetically pleasing studio recommended for people looking to supplement their current exercise routine.
I did the one month trial membership at Modo. Here are my thoughts:
Pros:
-Modo Yoga has an excellent practice space and a friendly staff. The locker rooms are clean, the lobby is spacious and welcoming, and the staff are kind.
-I would recommend this place to those seeking to supplement their workout routine with one or two yoga classes a week. Find a couple instructors you like and stick with them. The owner, Chad Underwood, has a particularly good class which I recommend to anyone.
-The staff have frequent, very cool social events to grow their community such as monthly evening socials, weekend retreats, and yoga + brunch combos at local restaurants.
Cons:
-Although I enjoyed the majority of my classes, I *sometimes* found myself "just going through the motions" or "trying to follow along" without feeling that there was much emphasis from the instructor on proper form among practitioners. Important cues such as foot placement, hip orientation, and weight distribution were sometimes neglected, and I felt like there was a strong expectation for yogis to already know the nuances of proper form before arriving.
Overall: This is a great studio for people looking to supplement their existing workout routine or looking for a casual yoga practice. I look forward to following their progress over the next year or two; this studio has a lot of potential to become one of Ohio's premier yoga studios.
