I went to one of the gyms before The Fit for Life was formed, but has the same owners. It was a terrible experience in that the owners were very unprofessional. I had informed them of my intent to leave for a different gym due to convenience and the owners informed the entire gym that I was leaving. This was none of their business to do. I was also confronted about "rumors" that I was saying that prices were increasing, when I never said anything of the sort. Two years later, they bought out the gym that I had gone to and I decided to quit there as well. I was told 2 or 3 times my account was cancelled and after March payment, I would not be charged. Come April 2nd, the payment was withdrawn. This also happened to other members who left the gym as well and took time to get their money back. It is not hard to cancel someone's membership and make sure that they do not get charged again. Yet, it appears it is a pattern. Now that the company has almost 5 gym locations and require one year contracts and no possibility of month to month, it is almost impossible to leave the gym for any reason until you pay out your contract since they have so many locations. As a consumer, life can change quickly and having to fight or pay to get out of the gym contract isn't very personable. I do not recommend this gym for a long term commitment as it is poorly operated.
