Riverpoint is easily my favorite gym in Albuquerque! And my favorite of the Sports and Wellness gyms in the area. The staff is always friendly! The equipment is always very well maintained and up to date. They are always renovating to keep things new. The members are also nice. Not very many meat heads, which keeps grunting to a minimum!

Not only is this place overpriced for what they offer, but their customer service is terrible. I was not told when I signed up for the month-to-month membership that if I wanted to cancel I needed to give them a 30 day notice (why is it called month-to-month then?) until I actually went to cancel the membership.. got charged for two months (December and January) that I wasn't even using the gym, even though I cancelled at the beginning of December for January 1st. Customer service was very rude when I spoke to them on the phone about it. Chuze fitness offers the SAME EXACT MEMBERSHIP for $40, whereas sports and wellness is almost $90 after a student discount... ya'll are a ripoff

*Editing to add that they also upped the monthly charge to $97 when I went to pay the charges. Pretty interesting that the monthly rate just happened to increase after I had already cancelled the membership.

We joined up with the family plan and after about six months being members they came out actually pulled my wife out of a class ,told her the daycare could not watch our youngest son because he wouldn't stop crying. We did let them know we didn't want to come anymore because of this and after 6 months accumulating gym memberships. That we were not using and we were told that there was no contract when we signed up in the first place. their collection department called me demanding almost $1,000. I tried to work out some kind of an arrangement or agreement but they sarcastically, and rudely demanded the money as if I owed it to them. even though I did not use their services whatsoever.they pretty much did not make us feel welcome at their gym at all. I'll tell you what they have a strong committed team on collecting money, taking you to collections and having no problem ruining your life over this gym membership business. I was just glad I was in a position to be able to stroke out nine hundred and some dollars to satisfy these charges I didn't even use. Beware signing up with this gym!!!!

Riverpoint Sports and Wellness Sucks. I pay for registration and my monthly plus they give me a GIFT CARD that I didn't use it coz I lost and I could find it and after few months I found it and went to Riverpoint Sports and Wellness at Coors, the management that Lady said I can't used the Gift Card coz it's more than 3 months now, and I explained to that Lady that I lost it and I just found the Gift Card but she told me inappropriate way. You guys don't go to the Riverpoint Sports and Wellness in Coors, their management SUCKS . It's better go other Fitness GYM. I will not go back there again in Sports and Wellness at 9190 Coors Blvd.

Snobby employees indeed. Its unfortunate that todays youth lack face to face interaction and good customer service. I only have used my membership at 2 of the Sports and Wellness in Abq. Del Norte location has amazing employees. The gave me incentives for signing up regarding my family member guests. Everytime I bring my son to Riverpoint which has only came with me twice. They give me a hard time. They don't honor my free pass and have to pay. It's frustrating that there is no transparency from location to location.

Best gym in the Abq metro area, great customer service friendly staff.

Facilities are great--no doubt. But I had an injury while at sports and wellness and couldn't continue using the membership. I had a doctor's note, and a confirmation from the general manager that I would not be charged for the months I didn't use the club. Fast forward to today: I get a creditor's notice for $234.32 on behalf of Sports and Wellness. Called to clarify. The GM who had resolved my case was no longer with the company, and the assistant GM refused to help me. "Nothing she could do."

Well there's nothing I could do but to rate them a -5.

So, great facility. But the club does not have your back. They reneged on a promise. And when you really need it...they "just can't help you."

I had to laugh at the reviews. Obviously these people don't have a lot of experience with other gyms, especially national chains. There are literally a dozen programs and classes a day, from yoga and water aerobics to boxing and body pump classes, spinning, plates, etc. They have indoor and outdoor pools in great shape and clean, a large hot tub and a steam room. Unlimited towel service and locker use, private high number showers, super friendly and constantly working custodial staff, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, racket ball courts and an indoor track. The childcare is excellent, you are required to call ahead and there is limited (this is a good thing) slots to ensure good care/teacher ratios, my kids love it and there are programs and swim lessons and even a "parents night out" option, etc.

This type of club is built around a higher than average monthly cost. Provided you are down with a $70/month fee, you will appreciate the significant upgrade vs defined fitness and its better than LA Fitness, 24 HR fitness, Golds and others like it.

It's always a hard sell when you first go, like any place. They'll waive the start up fee, then you just go yearly or monthly, and whatnot like everywhere else. You can't get out early of your contract, just like every single other gym in the planet without penalty, so go month to month for $10 more. This is gym 101 stuff people...

I joined Riverpoint today and I could not be more pleased with the service I received from Scott. His customer service was exceptional and he made sure I received a military discount. I look forward to my membership and will recommend Scott to my friends and family.

This gym has great staff and awesome location! Love the indoor track and they have a great pool with a volleyball ball court and outdoor HIT training area. Not to mention an outdoor cafe that's so cheap and tasty! It's a great place to swim with kids and grab an inexpensive bite.

Gym is good, BUT... beware the dreaded CONTRACT. Here's what they don't tell you and you're probably going to miss in the contract:

They require 30 day notice to cancel your membership. But not just 30 days... If you cancel on July 2, you are going to be paying through the end of August. Some BS about their 30 day billing cycle. So you really are going to pay them for 2 months longer than you use the gym.

And since this IS the most expensive gym in town (our bill was over $200 a month), paying for an extra two months when you want to cancel is some pretty shady crapola!

A call to their management company (Wellbridge) was answered with "well, you signed the contract..."

As always, caveat emptor because these guys are crooks.
