I really enjoy this gym. I was previously a 24Hour member but it wasn't my cup of tea. Came here and I can't stop. Friendly, helpful, and a constantly moving staff keeps the place running and there plenty to do. I want to give this place a bad review just so people won't join and overcrowd but Chuze deserves the 5 stars and the new years crowd is dying down so I think I'm safe to post this now.

This Gym is magnificent! I am so grateful to have it as my home gym! All the employees are incredible and the equipment is spectacular!
This gym is the best! It's super clean, the staff is really friendly, and the equipment is well maintained. It was recently renovated, so it's got that going for it too.
I love my gym. Always clean and the equipment is well taken care of. Unlike so many 24 hour fitness i have gone to. You definitely get way more than your money's worth

Lacks any type of soul. Feels lifeless.
Lacks free weights and squats/ dead lift equipment.
They have added a lot of new equipment including more free weights and dead lift stations.
Newly remodeled facility. The staff here is pretty cool.

Ended up joining as a result of LA Fitness gym's being either closed or deteriorating due to lack of maintenance. Will soon cancel my membership of nearly 8 years with LA Fitness as I have found Chuze to be far superior at a fraction of the cost. Only wish they had more locations!

The staff is amazing, the machines are well kept, and the gym never seems to be too crowded. I love that I can work out, and then get a hydro massage, and it's covered under my membership.

If time is an issue for you, this is the place. It is directly off the freeway, on, off... zip just like that. Costco's around the corner.
They have a Circuit Room. You do all of the steps in the room twice you have more than completed your 30 minutes of exercise of all your muscle groups and you're done. The steps are posted on two walls. You can read it before you start and re-read it as you work out until you get good at it. The steps are numbered, but you can start anywhere. There's a timer on two wall which reminds you when to move to the next machine because the person behind you will be moving forward with the timer.
If time is not always a concern, there are a hundred other machines downstairs and on the second level balcony and very rarely have I seen the place overcrowded. There are enough lockers for everybody, good showers and little dressing rooms to do your hair and change your clothes behind a curtain if that's who you are. There are paid Lockers in the front just in case you don't own a lock.
There's water and water machines and a little Boutique in the front and really nice workers. After you have finished working out, they have HydroMassage machines. That's a really nice treat, for free. And if you are one of those rare unfortunate people from someplace other than California who has no tan, they have tanning beds. I don't know if there's a charge for those. There is just tons of parking all around, Hooley's just opposite, Target around the corner and Macy's all on the same lot.
And, a post office!! One-Stop shopping, how good could it get?

They provide free Wi-Fi which is great for members like me that have the limited membership. Since I don't have access to classes, I use my phone in the open gym area to follow workout videos on YouTube (when classes aren't running).
They have an upstairs area for circuit training, and a small area for stretching or weights. It's nice to use it when it is too busy to get machines downstairs. I've learned the best time to attend the gym here is between 9-11 am on week days, Friday night, and weekend afternoons. They have a lounge area in the front which is nice if you're waiting for a friend or just need to take a break.
The only thing that would improve my experience here is if they offered payment for their exercise classes, so that the basic membership attendees could try out their classes and decide if they want to upgrade their membership.

So far my favorite Chuze location in town (between RB, MV, and Esco). This location has parking to spare and even during a rush it's not hard to find the equipment you need.
Been going here for years. Great staff and very clean. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
I had negative preconceptions about this place as someone who likes freeweights and doesn't do a lot of gym cardio. I signed up last week when my LA Fitness closed and I've honestly been loving it. I usually go mid day, so it's not too crowded, and the staff are awesome!
My husband signed up for this location. Staff was very friendly. Although Carlos was his favorite. He did not have a problem finding equipment to fill his needs. He was going to La Mesa LA fitness, and they closed the gym. He found Chuze to be more customer friendly than LA fitness.
I signed a two year contract two years ago for a great price (9.99 a month). Also every six months a 40.00 maintenance fee.
I was okay with that. However within about 7 months I had decided to start jogging. I never returned back to the gym for over a year. The 9.99 fee was cool. What I got pissed about is they kept charging me the 40.00 maintenance fees.
Look we all know they fill those slots with other members (bodies allowable for size of building at any one time / fire code). So to keep charging me this 40.00 was over kill.
I'm not happy with that type of business practice. They've lost my business. I'd never join again even without a contract. Greeeeeed
Let me start off by saying Chuze as a gym is amazing. I had a few concerns about getting signed up for a class in la mesa, since I've only gone to mission valley and rancho bernardo. The morning staff however was less than friendly. The young redhead girl at the front desk couldn't wait to cut me off mid sentence which was completely rude. It even caught her partner off guard.
Long story short, retrain your staff in customer service and I'll think about coming back.
By far the most helpful group of gym staff in San Diego! Randy was supportive, informative, and an overall pleasure to work with while choosing the right gym for me. Chuze staff is very welcoming as well as the environment. Highly recommend!

Great place for a casual workout. Pretty much anything you want is available. The one thing I would change would be to put a larger focus on free weights, it always seems like people are waiting for a bench or a rack
