Took my 8 yr old on her birthday to a drop in session. The instructor TJ was amazing. He was very patient and cheered her on. She managed to get all the way to the top.

While visiting SD, I got the opportunity to come here and it made me fall in love with climbing. The gym was huge with a huge collection of paths. The staff were incredibly kind and supportive! So glad I got to come here and wish they opened up locations where I am from!

Awesome climbing gym with tons of top roping. I was visiting SD and was excited to try some local gyms. Mesa Rim bouldering was pretty challenging, probably 1-2 grades harder than my usual gym.

Best climbing gym in the area. Best place to get on some ropes and build gains and confidence to get outside.

My sister and I were on vacation and decided to try climbing with our cousins from San Diego. This place is fantastic! We climb regularly in Toronto but none of the facilities we've been to come close to Mesa Rim. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the routes are unique and challenging and the space itself is well kept. We wouldn't hesitate to come back and wish we could climb here regularly!

The place is great, it's a big facility with a variety of options. It has a bouldering side, a rock climb portion and even a gym. The facility offers classes on how to rock climb and offers yoga classes as well. I highly recommend this place to anyone either as a beginner or for enthusiasts

Probably the best rope climbing gym I've ever been to. Very creatively set routes of all different kind. Fun natural features like Chimneys and many different kinds of cracks. The bouldering however leaves something to be desired.

This place is great for beginners and the skilled climber. Many different routes and many different styles. My only complaint is the price. But it's just slight more expensive than other places in town. I went on a Friday after work and it was packed!! Then about 10pm it was like the complete opposite. Just like any gym, there is a rush that comes in. Plus you can spend hours here and it flys by like you just got there.
Some of the holds were loose. Like spinning once you go to grab. Which I guess you can look at two ways, it mimicked a loose rock setting where you would fall to your death, or since there was just so many people climbing, it naturally loosened over time.... but one or two holds on the same run.... I notified an employee and hopefully he got it fixed before the new day.

Looking forward to going back.

If you have climbed for years or never climbed in your life, this is the place to go. If you are just curious what a climbing gym is like or want to do yoga and acroyoga around cool people, go here! Even if you just want to run on a treadmill or pump some iron, you will find a fun place with motivation in the air...lots of fit people trying new things constantly and pushing themselves to the limit of what's possible.

If you want to be inspired by the awesomeness of human ability, you must visit! There is even a guest pass system where you can visit for free if you know a member.

Don't want to climb or workout? There is a private room to meditate and a upper level to work on computers or chill. People are friendly and there is a sense of community I've never felt at a gym before. Even if you have no belay partner, the front desk will hook you up with one.

The bathrooms are really nice with a locker room and showers (no climbing shoes allowed in bathroom so bring flip flops). There are shoes and climbing equipment/merch to rent and to buy, along with a coffee vending machine, healthy drinks fridge, and some snacks.

I was super impressed by this gym and had a blast bouldering and rope climbing the tall walls! I conquered some fears and my body was exhilarated after! If you have any doubts just try it out.

Staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Paused my account charges after breaking my ankle (two even carried me to my car). Clean, good crowd of experienced climbers and open to newcomers.

Such a cool place. You can climb, work out, do yoga, even play ping pong, read, just chill. I could spend whole days here and not get bored. Love it.

This climbing gym is the best I have ever been to, I come here at least 3 times a week and am on the climbing team, I used to be on the team at a different gym but Mesa Rim is soooo nice I just had to switch.
