I have done a lot of gym/training myself in the past but i have never seen results like this before. Chris is a really good motivator and he always gets the most out of each session. I would highly recommend him to anybody who is looking to get a personal trainer.

I'm so glad I found this gym. This gym is well equipped and very spacious. The equipment is modern and clean. The space is very vast, I lvoe how open this gym is. There is also a large gymnasium area with a basketball half court. The weight racks have light weights to very heavy. The change room is on the smaller side, it has all the necessities but can get a little busy at times. Upon checking in at the front desk, Emily was very helpful with taking me on a tour of the space. The gym has parking and is located in a shopping area. I recommend Point Loma Sports Club.

I bought a day pass to grab a workout and a shower before a flight out of SAN. Super convenient and reasonably priced. Will be back.

So I am in San Diego for work and picked up full access week pass. This gym is great, got a great reception when I called to see if they did weekly rates and than when I showed up at the door by the first person. I have read some of the other reviews, my experience now almost done for the week has been great. Only one of the 4 nights has a male been working the desk and he was not your typical meathead. The GM was showing me around on the and had to take a phone call, so the founder who works out at the gym all the time continued the tour until the GM was done with his call. Was able to be part of one of the kick boxing classes and Abe rocks. Got a great workout and learned some technique. I will agree with one of the reviewers the sauna and the compactness of the locker rooms makes it for a tight squeeze. I guess playing sports through college I have been in worse and the shower stalls are separate so you are not in the gang shower around the pole. If I lived in SD I would be a member here with no question.

I came to this gym from Crunch Gym which keeps getting more expensive. Took me a while to get used to this gym but overall I like the layout and the machines are well kept, and the staff is very friendly. Their prices are way better too. Love that you can log on to the cardio machines with your own profile to keep progress. That's amazing! Oh and they have virtual walks, hikes etc on some of the cardio machines. It's awesome!

whether your an athlete, yogi, gym junkie, newbie, etc. whatever fitness level you are at they cater to it all! I love the athletic training they offer here from the bootcamps, hiit training, and circuits. it reminds me of being on a team and having a community to support you through the workouts!

I have visited many fitness clubs in San Diego including Broadway Athletic and FIT club downtown and overall this is by far the best. I was really blown away actually. I really liked that they had a room dedicated to stretching. Very nice indeed! :-) Ryan was very welcoming and inviting too.

Male-centric staff all sit behind the big desks in the lobby and strut around all day while young females work the front desks and hostesses and tidiers. Good gym but management needs a wake up call on what they stand for and what kind of message they're sending for gender equality and representation.

I'm so saddened to share this review but felt it might protect someone.

I had been a member for months, going 5 or 6 days a week. For some reason, management insisted on installing a large wooden sauna right in the middle of the locker room. There was no space for it, but all of a sudden there was a big wooden sauna with all of the benches facing the changing area. Not just facing, but literally 2 foot away. It was like a front row seat to everyone changing. Why would they put members in this situation? In any case, I - like most members - ignored the compromise of the locker room until one day I looked up and there was a guy in the window, filming me as I emerged from the shower and started changing.

When I reported it, I was not taken seriously. The GM blew me off. He was rude, inappropriate, and refused to connect me with the owner (who is usually on site). Never once did anyone ask fore details (who/when/where). It was suggested that the sauna person was checking their email. I have a BA in photojournalism... I know what it looks like when people are filming. The Club also suggested that it would be unfortunate if the person was merely checking Facebook, etc. and being wrongfully accused. Again, they were speculating on a situation they never investigated, trying to cover their ass. Blame the victim.

What's really sad about this whole situation is the club always espouses positive vibes/karma in all of their messaging, but became combative and leaderless when called to act. In all their messaging, they keep implying that I might be wrong.

Why would anyone pay for such treatment?

As soon as I walked in I was not greeted with a happy welcome. I was basically looked down upon as I approached the front desk. In my head I thought "ok, what's going on? Do they even want me here? Is this how they treat all of their potential new customers/clients?" Later I thought nothing of it and then proceeded for a tour of the gym. The staff member that toured me seemed doubtful and unenthusiastic that he HAD to tour me through the facility. I'm an educated, smart, and easy going person and I thought "damn, this is really weird! Why am I being treated like this?" I came into the gym for an interview for a training position they had opened up that I saw online. I'm a CSCS and have extensive experience in corrective exercise modalities. I thought ok I'll give it a try and speak to the manager. The managers there seemed so arrogant it was really disturbing!! "We are an upscale gym and we only cater to upscale people" as he arrogantly exclaimed with his nose held in the air. Then he said they charge $85 dollars an hour per session!! Upscale!? I think not! I've been to private invitation only facilities where trainers charge $100 to $200, even $300 an hr!! These facilities I've worked out of bring big names and people at the top %1 of the world! Names like Bill Gates and Michael Dell frequent these private residences especially down at Kukio on Hawaii Island. Plus, the equipment at Point Loma is run down and old. It's a great gym if you're white, middle upper class, and like to keep up with the joneses. If you're brown skinned, go somewhere else!!!

This is hands down the only gym/fitness program that I've tried in San Diego that I've stuck to and for good reason! They have all the equipment one could ever need and none of that super macho vibe you'll find at many other gyms in Southern California. This is seriously the kind of place where they make you feel like home. I'm from a small town so I dig that.

In addition, PLSC is clean, never too crowded, in a great location down at Liberty Station and offers plenty of classes and other amenities. The staff is awesome - they genuinely love what they do and it shows. Ryan, who opened our accounts, knew our names by the second day and makes a point to say hey every time my roommate and I are there. That goes for all the staff - super personal, super helpful and just all around good people.

Long story short, if you live in the area and are looking for a gym - this is your place!
