My wife and I were extremely lucky to get to visit this amazing studio on our recent trip to San Diego. We have been practicing for a long time and each have a unique perspective on the practice, but were able to find something that fit each of our needs perfectly. The yoga is great, and even better the community is really a home away from home for all of these lucky locals who get to practice here every day. Found out that it was recently under different ownership, but you can't even tell, the practitioners, teachers, and staff all seem to really love the community and you can feel it when walking in the door.
Front desk was super friendly and accommodating and there is even a great coffee kiosk right across the street - what's better than coffee and yoga?

I came in as a beginner trying to heal some sport injuries. Happy-U has encouraged me to work my way up to more complicated classes as my injuries heal. It is an amazing place with a friendly staff.

I have no program to compare it to but I have spoken to graduates of other studios and Happy-U seems to be one of the most thorough, extensive and intimate experiences available. The teachers are passionate and welcoming and incredibly knowledgable. The structure of their program allows you to deepen your practice and find your own path. Highly recommend!

Where do I start, I am new to Yoga, brand new, from the moment I walked into Happy U Yoga I was made to feel welcome. The journey begins with one step and never ends, we are all students and my yoga practice has now become a new path that I am on. The teachers are all superb, Tierney, Karson, Nam and Brent are now my regulars, but Anika, Amanda, Robin and the all the teachers are wonderful, helpful and kind to this beginner. I am a 65 year old male. It has been 3 months since I began this new experience and I am showing great results, better balance, more flexibility (I touched my toes, with straight legs, for the first time since high school). More than the physical improvements I feel more mentally focused, calm and tuned in to myself with my new way in life.
the community at this studio is so warm +welcoming. I instantly felt like family. the teachers are exceptional! Robin Christ classes are not to be missed, her classes will nourish your soul :)
The studio is very cosy and has a home feel to it. I love that it is equipped with variety of props and very clean. All the teachers I have met so far are warm and have been very welcoming. I love the teaching style and find myself naturally ease into the practice and newness of the place itself. They are always helpful. All my enquiries and concerns were addressed generously, making me feel very safe. Everyone else has also been very friendly and seem to carry such a great energy with them. Thank you for this beautiful space, I am happy to have stumbled upon it while finding my feet in Ocean Beach.

The staff and teacher (owners) were so warm and welcoming! Class was well composed, paced, inclusive and intentional. We enjoyed our experience so much that we bought shirts to commemorate or visit and support Happy-U. We live in Tucson, but we felt at home at Happy-U. Thank you for a great experience!
This is a wonderful studio with many classes that are all not heated and accessible for most everyone. I love, love, love, Tierney's classes. She creates an experience that has greatly reduced my stress and made yoga class an enjoyable calming experience for me again.

Yoga classes and teacher training at HappyU have been some of the very best experiences Ive had since moving to San Diego. The owners Mitch and Karson are so welcoming and genuine in their interest and compassion for their community members, and Tierney has been life-changing in her love and guidance during YTT. All of the staff yoga teachers are so passionate about the spiritual and physical blessings of yoga and clearly show their dedication and desire to help all of their students find what works best for their minds and bodies as they explore their own practice. I can't say enough for how uniquely amazing this yoga studio is, and Im so grateful to have found HappyU

Liz's Relax and Restore class was exactly what I needed for my tight runners body. She honors each person's journey and is very encouraging and attuned to the energy in the room. I will be back!
Happy U is not just a Yoga studio. It's a community, it's a family. Every class I have been to has left me feeling happier and lighter than I felt when I walked in. The teachers are all amazing humans and so extremely knowledgeable. You can't help but feel loved and welcomed from the moment you walk in.
I LOVE EVERYTHING about Happy-U!!! The instructors are not just super knowledgeable, but amazing teachers and REAL people. The schedule has a perfect mix for me to choose from depending on my mood/needs, and the community that they have built is the stuff Utopian societies are based on.
How often when someone asks "How are you?" Do they stop what they're doing, look you in the eye, listen, AND actually care enough to then start a conversation with you... the entire time only looking into your eyes and being present with the interaction... this is the stuff a yoga teacher DREAMS about! And it happens EVERY TIME I come into Happy U.... which makes a Happy ME! II travel a a lot, and every time I return to Happy-U it is really a feeling of coming home. Thank you beautiful Happy-U family and students for creating such a loving, supporting, healing community.
