Excellent school
I just graduated from Floating Yoga School. I took the three week summer course in Bend, OR. I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff, the experience and the safe learning environment. This was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I learned so much about yoga as a lifestyle, how to comfortably and confidently teach a yoga class. The curriculum was well rounded and balanced. They brought in guest teachers who had special experience on specific topics to better assist. My classmates were amazing too, everyone was so encouraging and had such positive energy. I had so much FUN! I was really nervous at first but it was just such a positive experience. And last but not least I had a few snags in my child care plans but Helen and Dave made sure I was still welcome to bring my baby to class on the days I didn't have child care available. As a new mother trying to get her education it was so refreshing to not feel excluded and they made sure that I wasn't. This experience has changed my life! If you're thinking about getting your yoga teacher training with Floating Yoga I highly recommend this school. I'm sure you would love it just as much as I did.

I've been practicing, more or less, traditional yoga for years and thought this might be a bit gimmicky at first. It turned out to not only be a great way to compliment my practice, it is also refreshing and fun to be on the bay and out of a hot studio from time to time. The paddle boards are stable but also make you focus on balance which helps strengthen a lot of the little support muscles that sometimes go unused. It's also a very relaxed, happy atmosphere where bailing into the water from an asana is encouraged and not looked down upon. The staff is super friendly and I felt like I should let them know they are doing a great job.
I've been wanting to learn surfing and paddle boarding since I moved to SoCal a few years ago from Texas, but I've been nervous since I didn't grow up around water. I've been practicing yoga for several years, so it was really great to be able to get into the water while feeling more comfortable with a practice I'm familiar with. They have all the boards ready to go, so I didn't have to worry about investing or transporting equipment and everyone has been so supportive as I get used to this whole water thing! Thanks guys!
I've taken all the different paddle yoga classes in San Diego and these guys are the best. They're organized and have everything set up for you, so you don't have to carry your own board or get it out of a van. The teachers are amazing and I had a great experience. So much fun!
The teachers are unique and very knowledgeable in the ways of floating yoga. I have been able to increase my own yoga skills through this incredible school. Helen Cloots is an inspiring teacher and you are sure to learn something new from her each time. I have never had a better Savasana in my entire life.
I already go to Spirit Yoga (their sister company) and I was apprehensive to try out yoga on a paddle board, however, the teachers made me feel so comfortable and really easy to have a blast! It's a scary thing to get out of your comfort zone, but oh so worth it! Not only is there paddle yoga, but there's also really cool night glow tours and a kick a$$ beach fit class! It's definitely the way to go if you want to try paddle boarding and yoga in San Diego....definitely give it a shot!!!
