If you like a chill non judgmental atmosphere then this is your place. All the instructors are patient and helpful when dealing with people from different levels and skills. The ladies and gents that come here are of all shapes, sizes, and colors. I love how people encourage people at this studio and no one is mean or snooty. This is by far my favorite pole fitness studio that I have been to. When I come to San Diego for work or vacation I make sure to make a stop at this place because it is fitness that is also fun and enjoyable. Is it hard? Yes, but the hard work pays off!

I found Volare in a Google search about a year ago. I have been interested in trying both aerial yoga and pole dancing for quite a while. Talked with a friend about trying and then it was time for her birthday so...two became one. Ha.
I researched three other studios in San Diego but Volare looked classier and did not exclude men from their studio. I could understand if it was a class that maybe some women would not want strange man there to leer; however, I was booking a private party and Volare is the only studio that I found that was fully open.
I called and left a message and received a return call in less than an hour from Maddox. She explained all of the details for booking a private event and took all of my information and I paid a 50% deposit for the total number in the party. She informed me that she would be sending over a few emails one being a receipt for the deposit once we were off the phone. I was super pumped and couldn't wait for 28 December to come around. I received all three emails including a reminder email about 3 days before.
I found a great song for our party theme and emailed Maddox with a link to the song on Spotify. (I totally forgot that I'd done that but the song was playing when I walked up to the studio preceded by the birthday girl.)
The day before our reservation I received a call from Volare, Maddox, confirming the number of our party and to pay the remaining balance for the event.
It was easy to find the venue and parking wasn't too bad either considering it is PB/Bird Rock on a Saturday afternoon.
The requested song was pumping out as the birthday girl walked up to the studio and spotted family and friends she didn't know were attending the pole dancing class. It was great!
Maddox greeted us immediately and wished our honouree a happy birthday. She gave us time to chat and potty and take some initial pictures. The party I booked began and ended with Aerial Yoga so we walked through the studio to the hanging silks and she introduced us newbies to some beginner aerial yoga positions. She was considerate of everyone with vertigo/motion sickness and the injury riddled. I cannot remember the name of any of the poses but they were so cool and felt so good when I came out of the pose. Felt elongated and like I was breathing better. We did this for about a 1/2 hour and then moved to the front area: the poles. I was excited but intimidated a bit by what we were about to do but it turned out to be far easier than I expected. Maddox was a thorough and patient teacher and walked through each move multiple times for us. By the end of the pole time, we had a choreagraphed routine. We finished up back in the aerial silks for a cool down in a cocoon position. Maddox woke us all from our "nap" and had us to slowly return to the moment. Once we were disengaged from the silk we grabbed water and fruit that was part of our party package. Thanked her repeatedly and took more photos before heading out. It was a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon and the birthday girl had the best damn time. We've already come up with a date to go back to Volare for classes! Thank you so much for a wonderful event Maddox & Volare!!!

Went here with a group as part of a bachelorette weekend. I was a little apprehensive but it was so fun! Maddox was an excellent teacher; she demonstrated and explained each move well and was very receptive to different learning speeds. By the end of one hour we could do an actual routine. Overall we all had a great time and I would definitely do it again!

I love this place! I had never done pole or aerial before, and was immediately hooked my first class. Like many others have said, it's so fun you don't even realize you're working out! No matter what I have going on in my life, I always leave the studio with uplifted spirits and a smile. The space is beautiful, and Maddox, the owner, fosters a really supportive community. I would definitely recommend checking it out!

Volare is outstanding. I feel so fortunate to be able to go here since I moved to CA recently and was looking for a new studio. This place came highly recommended and with good reason! The space is gorgeous (You can take a full tour of the inside on google maps.) and the instructors are all kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. The ceilings are high, it is open and airy, and upstairs there is a loft area sometimes used for stretch classes which is delightfully cozy. They offer not only pole but also silks, lyra, aerial yoga, flexibility, and dance classes. The schedule seems a little overwhelming at first but only because you'll want to take all of the classes! If you decide to stay for 2 or 3 in a row, which is so easy to do, the flow from one class into the next is phenomenal. You don't feel rushed at all. Their poles are all stainless steel which is an added bonus if you're allergic to chrome like me. I immediately feel welcome every time I come in for a class and the community of people that attend classes here are really supportive of each other. The cherry on top is the cost. This is one of the most affordable studios I have found and with an unlimited package you can take advantage of every single class on the schedule as well as open practice time! Make sure you leave yourself some time to park since it is street parking only but I've never had a problem finding a space within a reasonable distance. I would absolutely recommend giving this place a try if you are on the fence! It is truly a gem.

I had always wanted to give aerial a try and started coming to VOLARE a year ago. Since then the instructors have been great in breaking me in and training me on the Lyra. Could not have asked for a more talented or supportive group of instructors in one of the most fun and challenging arts! Can not thank or recommend the studio enough!

This is the best studio by far, from the instructors to the students that go here. Everyone is encouraging and supportive of one another, and the studio gives off a nice home-chill vibe. The instructors are very patient and friendly, so if you're new to pole or silks or not, I extremely suggest trying this place! I live an hour away from this place without traffic, so needless to say, this studio is WORTH YOUR TIME! Love this place!

We went here for a bachelorette party of 11 and had a fantastic time! Reasonably priced, well taught class and we could not have had more fun. We started in with aerial yoga then moved to pole basics with a short choreographed routine. They did an awesome job personalizing the party for the bride including water and snacks! Would highly recommend!

I had started doing Lyra when I lived in CT but after moving to San Diego, I had fallen into a serious bout of laziness and depression. I decided to get myself up of the couch before my abs became so mushy, that getting up was no longer an option and so, I went in search on a Lyra studio. The first place I tried was a big name in the area and I found it very disappointing. I found the instruction lacking and the very young instructor was unable to assist those who aren't 20-year-old gymnasts. I left frustrated and disappointed, feeling bad about myself and all the strength I had lost during my time on the couch.

After a few days though, I found myself, again, really missing the kind of fun I had as a beginner at my old studio. So I rekindled the search. This time I looked for a smaller place and stumbled on Volare. It had two things going against it: it is far away from me (13 miles, which by city standards might as well be in Arizona) and there was no reduced rate for your first class. I still had a very good feeling about it.

Beginner Lyra wasn't happening until Friday so I took a pole class earlier in the week. Nikki, the instructor, is a tiny, pixie who flies around the pole and manages to do so without making the rest of us feel inadequate. Everyone in the class had a great time and she did some things I hadn't had a chance to do at my last studio. She also told us that our second class is free for first time clients! (Yay for me client discounts!) Lyra on Friday was even better. I loved the instructor, Juliana, from the second I met her. There was only one other woman in the class, who was a new pole instructor at the studio, so it was practically a private lesson. I got to work muscles that had been long asleep. Juliana had to help me with my mounts ( I never was good at those) and getting from Amazon, back into the hoop (because my abs said, what is this? This is so much harder than sitting on the couch!) I felt fulfilled.

I have talked to two other women who went, once, to the big name studio and had a disappointing experience. I will definitely recommend to those women that they try again at Volare.
