PS: Mold is back in showers and at bathing suit dryer. I mentioned this a few months ago to front desk...
Pool closed for reconstruction till mid December. Bay Club offered alternative in El Segundo, which is too far. I asked them if they can put membership on hold as I only use pool. They said it is too late for November (not sure why when I asked them in mid Oct) and could be done in December for $50 per month. Doesn't sound like a fair offer.
Clean, well run and not too busy mid day. This gym has been outfitted with new equipment and so far I'm pleased with the staff and the overall vibe. Daniel is a great guy to speak with about the club. Can't beat the location!
I just read the review by Patrick Sullivan, the PRICK who wrote a review for the Bay Club; who was bashing "classes of people". I think they should take it down. If people like him go to that club, it is not the kind of place I would go. Who does he think he is judging people 'low class' and 'misfits' ? Money does not make a person good character; give me a rock to throw at his glass house.

-run out of fresh towels in men's locker room too often
-towel pickup not regular enough as they pile up
-water temp in men's showers change frequently...almost scalded on more than one occasion
-today the club ran out of coffee cup lids....attendant just shrugged.
-2nd class facility but first class prices

This place is great! I purchased a teenager membership for my 17 year old daughter and she loves it! She stays in great shape and associates with nice classy people there, unlike the lower class places that cost $25-$30 a month and enroll all types of misfits.
Equipment is nice, multiple different areas to work out, my favorite being the downstairs room (It's usually nice and quiet off of busy days). They also have a nice little boxing studio, and every room I've seen has some sort of speaker system that you can control yourself. Been going here for almost a year and It's improved a bit since then and I hear Bay Club is prepped to do some overhauls.
Over promises and under-delivers.
Management is hyping the place as "a country club like atmosphere". It's a gym... Nice staff and great views. Friendly laid back environment.

I paid $1000.00 on a "deal" and went once and never went back. the bathrooms are nasty and the other review about MOLD is true. it's disgusting AND very much geared towards moms and children running around than to their equipment, which is totally outdated and just plain bad. also, each room is really small, like it used to be someones office or something. very lame. sorry spectrum. the one in Manhattan of course is reallly nice. :(
