I wanted to get re-started with yoga (hadn't done it regularly in about 9 years), and this studio was recommended to me by a friend. I think the regular classes are kind of pricey, but there is an affordable $5 Yoga Hour twice a week (Thursday evening and Sunday morning) that they offer. The classes are meant for all levels of practitioners, which is good for a beginner-intermediate level person like myself! They do have mats/blocks/straps for you to borrow, and the place itself is clean and quiet. I've had a good experience so far!

I got into yoga in Colorado where yoga studios run rampant. You get to choose from your national yoga chains like Corepower to smaller, independent, donation-based studios, all of which offer every type of yoga you can possibly imagine.

When I first moved to Bakersfield, I did not expect to find such a clean, tranquil, and professional yoga studio. Inner Bodyworks is on par with any studio you'll find in LA or any other big city, especially now that they've moved to a larger space. The instructors are friendly and helpful, and they offer classes for all levels of yoga practitioners.

IBW has a fully equipped studio with a yoga wall (Google it!), bolsters, blocks, mats, and blankets. They even have eye pillows for you to use during shavasana (corpse pose) at the end of your practice.

The downside of being one of the best (I can't say THE best since I haven't tried them all) yoga studios in Bakersfield is that they're pricey.

$130/month for unlimited yoga,
$13/drop-in, $10 for students, or
packages that range from $8-$10/class (e.g. a 20-class package)

Comparatively, you can go to an excellent yoga class in Denver for $5/class. But, it's Bakersfield and we are operating under the laws of supply and demand.

If you can afford it, I highly recommend it. All the gals I have bought here to try out yoga love it.

Pro Tip: If you're looking for a challenging class, both Nancy and Heather's classes kick your butt (Intermediate Flow, T/Th @ 5:30PM). They'll knock your socks off with their beautiful practice.

I interned in Bakersfield for three months and went here about twice a week. I had been part of a studio in my hometown, but the ashtanga classes here were SO MUCH BETTER! within 2 weeks I mastered poses I couldn't do before, because the teachers made it a point to check every student to see if youve got the correct posture. Turns out, I had been turning my hands incorrectly during my handstands, something i had NEVER noticed before. Also, this place is soo clean, nice wooden floors, great lighting, and the environment is nice, and the classroom is a little warm (perfect temperature) and all the students that I've seen come developed relationships with the instructors too, I hate my current studio compared to this place. and only 8 bucks a class for students!

Absolutely amazing studio. Couldn't have enjoyed it more.

My practice has flourished since beginning here.

It is a bit pricey, but I consider it an investment for myself.
