I have been a member for years. Great location and the equipment is more than adequate for my needs. However, in the last year, the cleanliness of the place has noticeably gone downhill. I recognize that staffing may be an issue with the robust economy but still: dirty bathrooms, mirrors in the bike room have not been cleaned in long time, floors dirty, etc. This place used to sparkle; not so much anymore.
As I'm trying to join, the manager hours are few. I arrive at a time it is stated on the door for when a manager should be in. No one answers the bell or the phone. The monthly price is a bit high to be so understaffed.
I just completed six months of a weekly training session. I have been a member for about 5 years and decided to up my commitment to help get in better overall shape and improve recovery from a shoulder injury. My personal trainer, Angie, did a remarkable job helping me. I recommend her as a trainer to anyone.
Love having a gym with 24 hour availability. Always kept clean and great variety of equipment. Lots of updates in the last year. I'm not usually there when staff is around. But if something does come up I can email and they are quick to reply.

It's inexpensive, has the right amount of equipment in a fairly stress free environment. I love this gym for what it isnt, which is full of over priced and unnecessary add ons.

From all the gyms I've been to, Snap Fitness is by far my favorite place to go (I've been a member at Planet Fitness, Blast Fitness, and Bally's when it was still around; I have done trials at Xperience Fitness and Anytime Fitness).
Snap Fitness in Bay View is clean/tidy, tends not to be too crowded, is open 24/7 including holidays, has a pretty fast turn around on fixing broken equipment, and has a team of friendly staff members.
Though it costs a bit more than your average "$20/mo bring a guest" membership to many of these larger gyms, it's definitely worth it, especially if you despise huge & dirty locker rooms, equipment that stays broken for weeks/months, never finding an open spot on a piece of equipment you want to use, and members that can be beyond the definition of gross.
Thanks for going above and beyond Snap Fitness staff at the BV location; it's much appreciated!!

Bay View Snap Fitness is the best managed and maintained club it's been my pleasure to be a member of, and I've been a member of many over the years.

I have made a lot of progress with my fitness goals this year and they were very helpful suspending my membership while I was out of the country.
However, for the price range it is in it offers considerably less than WAC and other competitors. It's also geared more toward cardio and senior citizens, which is fine, but if you have a more weights/functionality based workout and you get there at busier times you're essential stuck.
There's also an issue with several people being completely oblivious to those around them. Personal trainers occasionally take up more room than they need to (e.g. Both benches and the rower to show someone how to squat??? Come on), which can also kill workouts. At night, if I miss my morning workouts, I dread certain members of the gym showing up because they have no problem walking over you mid set or even stepping in front of you while you're on the (woefully positioned) heavy bag to give you unsolicited advice on punching technique.
All of this is manageable to a certain degree, but for $50 a month, knowing the infinitely superior Brickyard is just down the road for half the price, it's just starting to feel like it's not worth it. Again, if you can get in there when it's empty or you're only contending with treadmill users, it's fine, but all things considered, I'll probably be taking my sick pump elsewhere in the near future.
I used to love snap fitness until they increased their prices. This location is a few blocks from my house but it's 50$/month and their tanning machine doesn't even work. No extra benefits of this place and staff have been curt and rude.
Great location. Free parking for members while using the gym. Clean and tidy. Responsive ownership and staff. Trainers cared about my particular fitness requests. Tons of equipment. They take feedback seriously and have listened to my requests. Some they've even honored. Love that they are willing to invest in their member's preferences. And they actually have Concept 2 a rower there!
Nice place to work out. Not too crowded machines always availible. Only issue is radio in gym is too loud. Don't need it loud when 99% of people use headphones.
Pretty decent 24 gym. Equipment is taken care of. Squat racks, bench, free weights, dumbbells, and lots of machines. Treadmills have individual tvs. Only thing missing are a few machines, but there wouldn't be room for them.
