One of the best choices in Milwaukee! Thank you for great services.
My brother lived here for awhile. God was that weird. But hey, gotta love the guy, and the Awesome basketball court. Cheers!
Our stay was awesome. Best of luck on your re- model. Can't wait to see it.
Super nice banquet hall
Very nice accommodations and relatively inexpensive for the area. Lots of great places within walking distance. Drinks at the bar where a bit pricey in my opinion and the rooms especially the bathrooms could use a little updating but overall a nice place.
Though a private athletic and social club, we were lucky enough to visit here recently for a beautiful wedding. Cocktails were in a gorgeous 3rd floor gathering room and dinner in an amazingly elegant 4th floor dining room, complete with massive dance floor for our after dinner partying. All in all, an awesome place!
Clean. Lovely lobby. Close to the River Walk and Historic Third Ward, which both just a short walk. Room was older, but had fridge and microwave and was very clean. Bed was super comfy. Would stay here again.
One of the best wedding celebrations I've experienced took place within the ballroom and the spacious rooftop bar at the MAC. Excellent city scape with birds-eye views of downtown Milwaukee. A sensational venue for making lifelong memories indeed.

When we checked in, the manager gave us the wrong room. We had to wait for an hour until he got back because nobody else knew how to do anything. We were also told everything in the hotel was closed because of the holiday. No food or drinks.
Rooms were dated and especially the bathroom. The AC was cold. Shuttles to Summrrfest would not take us to tbe venue. Hallways smelled musty.

Cool building in a great location in Milwaukee. The website and the lobby are a bit deceiving, however. I was booked for 3 nights, and left after only 1 night because the floor I was on (11th floor) smelled so strongly of mold and the room wasn't any better. The wallpaper was peeling off of the wall and the carpeting looks like it was original to the building. I can deal with older furnishings and decor, but the moldy smell was overbearing. I woke up in the middle of the night and started gagging because I'm used to taking a deep breath of clean air and not mold. Read some other reviews and saw that they plan on remodeling in the next year. Hopefully that happens because it would be a shame for such a beautiful building to go to waste.

The price point for a room is WAY too high for what you get. The room was shabby - stained carpet, hard couch, a few small holes in two walls. The bathroom reminded me of one you might find in a public school. Disappointing stay. The facilities for other purposes (i.e. ballroom for wedding) was pretty nice, though.
Went for a wedding to the Milwaukee Athletic Club and fell in love with the venue! The food was AMAZING, gorgeous rooms, wonderful customer service!
Don't try applying here if you're Hispanic with no experience in cleaning only customer service and Data Entry yet resume gets submitted for a janitorial position only for the sole fact that my last name is JUAREZ. Disrespectful to me as a person with my experience and very racist. Makes me wonder if they treat Hispanic cliental any different.

This place is pretty old, but still really cool! The room was massive! Bigger than my apartment in Queens, NY. While, everything looked old and needing to be updated, it was still very clean. Great location! It's .5 miles to my favorite watering hole, so I can walk there and then Uber back to the hotel. Unfortunately, I was too hungover to checkout the exercise room or pool. Maybe next time I'll hit the sauna and release some of the toxins!
Great place to get in a workout as well great staff.. facility is always very clean, keep it up.
This is a Historic Hotel and I enjoy visiting on occasion.
Rooms may be very small or average size, based on what you book.
I enjoy the quality and cleanliness of the rooms that I had.
The beds are so comfortable!!!
Check out the floor with the Gym and Swimming Pool...fantastic.
The restaurant and bar has great service, good for evening meetings.
You would also enjoy the Elephant Room for some business talks.

Da Roof! My review is not of the MAC itself, but rather their summer, Tuesday night concert series. From 6 to 10pm, Kris Crow and his amazing band performs on the roof of the MAC. It's an open-air show and on nice nights, it truly is a little slice of paradise! Also, the nicest thing, honestly, is the fact that the show is from 6 to 10pm! I would go out more often to see bands if they didn't start to darn late. This is, hands down, one of my favorite things to do during a Milwaukee summer!
Lovely facility, delicious food, friendly staff. A well-run club that is a throwback to an earlier era
Old world paneled wood well maintained club. Food was well done. Fun bar. Very accommodating staff.
Beautiful event space. A classic. Valets were very polite and expedient.
We stayed at the hotel cause the rates were nice and the location was great. I was upset that the women's sauna and steam room had been out of service due to a flood in the basement. They could have made the other sauna coed but they didn't. Room was nice but pretty sure it was haunted. Sarah, the masseuse was amazing! However I probably wouldn't stay here again.
Fantastic room for a great rate. Extremely friendly staff, great location and parking. I will be staying here in the future.
The rooms are not what the picture shows, once we complained and got upgraded to a suite it was reasonable. The suites are comparable to a normal room at a fairly upscale hotel. Customer service was great though once we voiced concerns. Location is hard to beat for Milwaukee
The main issue was the lack of power in useful places; the outlets were floor level or behind furniture; they need power at desk and night stands! The cleaning staff didn't empty the ice bucket and leave a fresh bag insert, and there is one little bar of soap and a squeeze packet of conditioning shampoo. There was no ice on my floor or the floor above, so went to the next higher level for ice. The pool closed at 6:00 pm which defeated the purpose of having a pool for people using the MAC as a hotel (they suggested swimming early in the morning, but that is rough when you have daytime work plans). I used it for the location convenience; however, it really seems to be there for guest and members of MAC who understand all the nuances. The dining room wasn't available for dinner until a MAC event was done, so we went elsewhere.
We recently chose to stay at the MAC based on convenience as we attended a wedding. Based on the MAC's reputation we expected first class accommodations throughout, unfortunately that's not what we recieved. The lobby areas, common spaces and ball room are dated, but fairly well maintained considering how old the building is. Unfortunately, we were utterly shocked and appalled on arrival to our room...EVERYTHING from the 1950s tiled bathroom, to the 1970s looking carpet, to the bedding, accordion style faux wood closet doors, etc was far beyond out of date. Our standard double queen room didn't even have headboards on the beds. Had I been blind folded while walking into the building I would have thought I was at a budget motel based on the condition of the room. The price we paid did not match what we received as far as room accommodations...oh and parking was an additional $16 a day. I appreciate history and have been to some of the oldest hotels in the country that have done an excellent job at both preserving a historical feel while still keeping a cleanly modern appearance. MAC has unfortunately woefully failed at this. I suggest this establishment go through a major reno of all their guest rooms to say the least! Next time we visit MKE we'll be staying at The Pfister or Westin, where for about the same price we'll get much more bang for our buck.
I had a great stay here! It is an older place but it's very interesting and well situated
Lets start with the boarded windows in front of the hotel as I pulled up. Then the man checking me in was not informative and extremely rude. I almost just walked out but didn't want to incur a cancellation fee. My room is 1950s 1960s 1970s decorated that's falling apart. The paint is so horribly scratched on the baseboards and doors. The metal accordion closet door is rusted. This is hideous for what I paid, HIDEOUS. The hallways stink of must and the wallpaper is peeling off around the baseboards. The place is just musty, old and needs a redo. Do NOT stay here unless you are absolutely desperate and wont be spending much time in the room.
Not at all as advertised. Even their daily specials and events are not as advertised. 4-6pm happy hour wasn't happy hour our bartender said. Flyers in the elevator suggested otherwise. Won't be back. You get what you pay for in this area. Extra 100 for a night will get you a nice, clean hotel nearby.
As a Wisconsin Athletic Club Member, I have limited access to certain amenities. The main feature I take advantage of as a WAC member is the men's pool which is heated and 25 yards in length. I'm also provided with a locker to keep my belongings in. The atmosphere at the MAC is very welcoming with warm, friendly faces to greet you and lively members to cut up with in the locker room. I'm considering joining the MAC so I can access more amenities at the club and to attend social functions they frequently host.
Very old. Rooms and bathrooms haven't been updated in a long time. Half of the outlets didn't work. The linens were a yellowish color and smelled like they hadn't been washed in forever. Don't stay here.
I would not recommend this place. They seem to only cater to rich businessmen. My boyfriend and I were visiting Milwaukee for a concert and the man at the front desk was extremely rude and judgmental-looking us over like we didn't belong there and admitted he purposefully charged my card to have on file for less than he would have for "ordinary" guests. It made me very uncomfortable. The room was OK. Except for the fact that it was freezing cold and had a pretty crappy shower. There is also a "dress code" for the hotel. And don't expect to swim with your significant other or family members-the pool and facilities are separated by gender. Sorry, I didn't know we were still the 1950's.
