I have to write this review because I have never felt so violated after going to a yoga class for the first time. I understand that sometimes a yoga instructor will touch you to help with alignment, but I have never had an instructor touch my ass so repeatedly, or ever, during a class. Along with that she was pushing students beyond the point that seemed to be comfortable to them. To top it off, at the end she decided to share her political beliefs in a very obtrusive way. I will never return.

I've taken a fair number of classes here and every time I walk out feeling good, no matter how the day or week went. The rooms have high wooden ceilings and are beautiful and the people so thoughtful, knowledgeable and well meaning that you can get a bit spoiled. Was there this morning, new teacher and why should I be surprised, she was really good (see previous adjectives).

Yama Yoga has been the studio I have been practicing at for five years. This studio is a peaceful, nourishing sanctuary amongst the hustle bustle of the city. The teachers are all passionate and the students all dedicated in a way that makes you feel like you're returning home every time you show up for your practice. There are various styles so there is something for everyone! Here is a resource to discover the whole of yoga, not just the stretches or physical poses.

My husband has been going to Yama for 6 years and I for 1 1/2 years. The instructors are knowledgeable and personable. Classes are tailored to meet individual needs and levels. As a newbie, I appreciated the individual attention - ensuring I was dong poses correctly and in a benefial manner. I love the opening and closing reminders, quotes, and readings. I often refer back to them/ponder them between sessions. They are always relevant and timely.

Unclear in their Groupon deal, wasted my time driving all the way to the studio, then spent over 15mn looking for parking close by.
End up parking 3 blocks away and running to the class but when arriving they told me that my groupon is not applicable for that particular class!
They didn't even offer an arrangement or make exception considering that nothing is explained in their side about these Groupon differences
Disappointing customer service !

Yama is a wonderful asset to our community, wonderful teachers and workshops. I loved the teachers training with Marietta and Tammy, both have so much to offer both about the physical side of yoga and the deeper philosophies and then they brought in great guest teachers too. Thanks Yama Yoga!
