Basic 1 2 punch combo. Will not let you take advanced classes until you have so many beginner classes in no matter your experience. No sparring. Was told someone would get in contact with me about advanced classes and sparring and I have yet to receive correspondence from anyone. Your better off looking up youtube videos and punching a bag than wasting your money on this "top notch" gym. Sorry not sorry

I did a mid day no-gi with Josh. He did a deep dive into a technique, and gave a lot of options (and explanations on details) from there so that by the end of class even I (who doesn't normally work from there) felt good in that position. In short, he seems like a very good instructor. A shower is available. Visitor friendly.

I would give 10 stars if I could.
I was in Milwaukee for the summer and picked Pura Vida as the place to train; 5:15pm Kickboxing / Muay Thai into 6:30pm Jiu Jitsu.
I have lived in many places and it is not often you find gyms with striking and Jiu Jitsu in the same place, not to mention a city with multiple gyms that offer this. What made Pura Vida stand out was that you trained right along side professional and amateur fighters. Everyone takes the time to help you with your form and technique, no egos.
Additionally, they have awesome seminars and bring in great guys like Ryan Courtney.
Pura Vida will be the thing I miss most about Milwaukee.

I have traveled all over the United states and done training in Brazil. Pura Vida has one of the healthiest martial arts school cultures with the highest level of instruction and pedigree. It is extremely clean which is very important student health. Highly recommend.

My son Jonathan adores Pura Vida within the first weeks he was hooked, i have notice a great transformation both physically and mentally happy we found this gym all the coaches are beyond amazing.

Professional and courteous staff. Jake, Zak, & Matt are fantastic coaches and training partners. They care about their students and do everything they can to get the most out of them. They run a fantastic and fun kids grappling program which my son attends and my daughter will as well when she is old enough. So whether you are looking to get in shape, learn self defense or compete Pura Vida is the place for you.

I tried many gyms and I really just didn;t fit in, but after trying this gym I found a new home. Jake and Zak along with Leah have a passion for teaching people while always being humble and learning new things and techniques. Its a goofy bunch they have, but they have become great friends.
