I called ahead and the phone representative was super kind and very helpful. Showed up and for a day pass its super cheap and the dude at the desk was way chill. The facility is really well designed and very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone. Great experience all around.

The Provo Recreation Center has so many recreational activities for members as well as sports activities and lessons for all ages. We love coming to the indoor pool all year round. We also love their tumbling tots class they have every month for preschool kids from age 2-5. They have fun Science Paloozas, Halloween and New Year's Eve Parties. They also have a wide range of fitness classes included in the membership fee. If you have young kids, they also have a child watch area (for a fee) so you can keep your sanity by getting your fitness fix.

The rec center is incredible! As a gym it has all the options you could want, lots of equipment, machines and a great variety of work out classes for everyone! As well as a great pool, basketball, tennis and racquetball courts. Literally anything you could want for exercise and recreation! Great people work there as well.

Good gym. They have student discounts for memberships. They have a lot of classes and the track over looks the gym which is really nice. They have a lot of different courts and a great pool as well.

This is one of the most under appreciated places in Provo in my opinion. In the summer the outdoor pool section is not horribly crowded and year around the indoor section is kept clean and fun. I wish there was a sauna or steam room but as it is the place is great.

We have tried several rec centers in the county over the years and Provo is far superior. The workout facility and pool are modern and clean. We also have our 2 kids in the tumbling tots class and it is great! So organized and fun for my 2 and 4 year olds.

Great place to come work out, swim, or just have fun. Free rentals of equipment (make sure to bring a photo ID), everything from pool tables to free weights to swimming pools. Staff policies keep things clean and nice, overall, my favorite place to come work out!

This place compels you to be active because of how modern and sleek this place is. The indoor and outdoor pools are phenomenal, the cycle room and studio are great, and it feels like a community no matter where you are in the building because you can basically see from one side to the other no matter what you are doing. It helps to see a who community working out right along with you.

Very family friendly. Love the pool. We can bring out own snacks and get free ice water from the snack bar.

WOW this place is HUGE and full of small, screaming wet human children. Beyond the pool and slide areas there were basketball courts, climbing walls and even in an indoor play area. The lifeguards look they want to be teenage sleeping or they just might actually be. Too many small human children in one lazy river though honestly doesn't give you any sense of laziness. Instead how about sheer annoyance at what a better non-parent I am (or real parent you might be). Point is the wave pool as my nephew said was full of hornets and pee. But this place is big enough for everyones child army and worth the price. Bring a lock for your locker as the 5 dollar one they sold me at the gate was bunk.

My wife and son do a lot of the classes offered here and love them. Today when trying to come watch my 3 year old swim the dude at the front desk wouldn't let me in without paying. I'm walking my 6 month old around in a stroller, does he think I'm lying to him and secretly just want to set her down and swim for free? I've been here a ton for my kids lessons and never had to pay, but this dude wasn't having any of it. Gotta get that cash bro.

The Provo rec center is awesome and even the locker rooms are very clean and smell very fresh. The indoor pool area that would usually smell moldy and muggy and be hot, has a fresh scent to it and it just seems like such a clean facility. I would recommend this place to anyone.

This place is great! I only have 2 complaints:

1. The air in the enclosed pool area is so rife with chlorine that my eyes burned the entire time. As soon as I walked outside to the other pool it was just fine.

2. The lifeguards were remarkably rude. I mean, just shockingly rude. I asked a question and they wouldn't respond and just rolled their eyes at me! They are very unhelpful and honestly I wouldn't trust them with my life.

Nicest public recreation center I've ever seen. Always clean and maintained. Only complaint is that basketball courts are rented out to city leagues which causes over crowding on remaining courts. We pay our membership fees to access the facilities and yet they rent out the courts and exclude access to members.

Great family friendly recreation center. The pool is great for children and they have awesome family changing rooms.

Update: I'm removing a star because of the weird pool rules.

Our toddler isn't quite big enough to go down the smallest slides by themselves, but it's totally forbidden for an adult to go down with them. I think the slides look designed for adults to ride down with Children.

Overall I still think it's a pretty great recreation center, but their policies could use a revisit

I love coming here! I mostly use it for the gym, which feels roomy and looks well-maintained even when it's a little crowded. There are plenty of machines to choose from so you never get bored. The gym recently added lockers where you can set your own pin to keep your valuables safe. There used to be open cubbies there, which made me feel uneasy, so thumbs-up for the change. Membership sounds expensive but it's a great deal for all the recreational activities you get access to.

Awesome place! Really fun pool for both kids and adults plus work out areas for everything you can think of! Plus one-time admission is super cheap!

The facility is amazing! Several pools for different levels, great jungle gym for the kids. several types of courts, weights, equipment, a nice track, and a variety of classes. See if your company has a contract with them; it was cheaper to have a 6 month membership for my husband and I through his company discount then a 3 month for just myself. If no membership, then it's $5. Help from the staff really depends on who you're talking to; it's a hit and miss.

So fun, I wish I lived in Provo!! We swim here on occasion. The pool had a rock climbing wall, tube slides, a lazy river, an awesome kid pool, a high dive area and of course, a regular swimming pool. Weekends are absolute nuts. But if you go during the week you'll be surprised how much you get to yourself. The price to get in isn't bad either.

Do not expect to see me at the Provo Rec Center again. Yesterday I was blamed for stealing a basketball that I did not take. The experience was incredibly unpleasant, and my ID was confiscated on the condition that I pay a $50 fine for the ball. No other gym I have attended has had a policy this archaic. The Center's policy surrounding this situation is irrational and insulting. Especially given the otherwise pleasant experience I have had at the gym. My advice: Don't deal with the Provo Rec Center.

Beautiful building, clean and modern facility, Great gym, awesome fitness classes...but it can be terribly crowded and busy. Saturdays and evenings are like a circus with kids running around everywhere. Luckily anyone under 18 isn't allowed upstairs in the gym area, otherwise I would cancel my membership! Also, if you are planning on attending a fitness class, give yourself plenty of time to find parking because it's always crowded!

I love Provo Rec Center! It's facilities are awesome. There's so much to do for everyone in the family. There pickleball, racquetball, swimming, basketball, workout equipment, a suspended track for running or walking, billiards, ping pong, and even more! The people are really nice and they have so many activities to enjoy. And for only $5 per person per day, you really can't beat it!

Love the facility! The swimming area is great for kids. There are a variety of classes most are great but my favorite class HIGH Fitness has moderate to poor instructors compared to any other gyms in the area. Hoping to see improvement in this!

We LOVE it here. My wife and I honestly feel so lucky to have such a great rec center here in Provo. Modern facility, always well kept. It's also really nice to be surrounded by all walks of life here. From super fit marathon runners, to overweight folks who are just getting back into it, we never feel self conscious or judged. We really get a good community vibe here.

Their is lots to do there no need to stand around. They have tons of free weights and other toys for your workout pleasure. Basketball, volleyball, and racquetball courts. Plus a full size training swimming pool.

This Rec Center is so beautiful. It is pleasing to the eye and it has great activities. A fun pool for the whole family, Racquetball, basketball, running/walking track, rock climbing, and even a food court. So much to do and so cheap, even for a day! I'm going to come here every week! :D

First time going here. It was Awesome! There is plenty of things for my kids to do. We like staying inside as to avoid getting sunburn. But the outside water toys are super fun! Wish we could afford a year pass, we would totally go here instead of 7Peaks. I felt it was a lot more kid and family oriented.

October 25, 2017 12:23

We were so thrilled to find this pool was open and drove almost an hour to get there. First off, I would like to say how amazing this place truly is as far as inside Rec pools go. We went for the inside pool and it truly exceeded our expectations. The lazy river is amazing and so are the slides. If it were not for the staff yelling at us the whole time we were there I would give this place 5 stars. The staff is very cold, I have a two and four year old and I had no idea that it was the law for children under three to wear three layers of protection even if they have been potty trained for well over half a year. Which to me is a great law but I just didn't know and didn't think twice with a kid that hasn't had an accident for over six months. It could have been explained better in a non demeaning way is all I'm saying. Then all the rules for the pool, like taking your 2 year old child down a slide just to get him used to it so he could go on his own. Or not playing with the fountains that are placed in the toddler area like a splash pad, how dare us try to play with the water. Or having the two year old stand by his daddy in the hot tub cause he didn't want to join his mommy and brother in the pool. Just standing by the hot tub even though he clearly was not getting in cause it was almost as tall as him and his daddy was there talking to him was a no no. Overall, amazing facility but the staff is unbearable.
