The one in Rice Village is disgusting weight room area especially. The men's locker is filthy. And by the way, it's not 24 hours. They replace nets on the basketball court maybe a month after needed. The sauna is disgusting. All the basketballs are lopsided.
This place just went downhill. No more towels ,ok i understand, but now only open till 12, really?! The only reason i got membership so i could use it after work which is more convenient. Will go to another gym . Very disappointed
I wanted to public thank Kris, the asst gen manager for her help yesterday. After arriving at the gym with my kids I was informed that there was not enough space at Kid's club to accommodate them. Initially I was told there was no one to help, but in speaking with her she said let me see what I can do. Within minutes, I was able to work out as planned. As a father, one way I model health and fitness to my kids is by letting the see the importance of regular exercise. I reminded my kids yesterday the importance of regular exercise and how kid's club allows me to practice what I preach. Thank you Kris for coming through for me and my family yesterday.
This gym has become the ghetto. Equipment specifically on the 3rd floor are constantly in a state of disrepair. This is especially the case for the stair masters. The "out of order" signs have been present on the equipment for over a month.
In general though the gym is pretty damn dirty...they have the TVs that flash team clean" that never happens. The bathrooms are always dirty. Most staff are pretty incompetent. It's likely because the turnover across the board is high.
A super sport gym, secondary to the one ultra sport gym still in existence is the highest tier gym membership you can attain. 24 likens the $40-$50 monthly membership fees to it having more amenities". At this time 24 has decided to eliminate towel service with a less than 30 day notice. So aside from a racket ball court in the poorly ventilated upstairs what the heck additional "amenities" are afforded at a higher cost?
Save your money, if you choose to utilize the 24 fitness gyms the sport level memberships offer the same benefits as a super sport...this gym ain't it.
My favorite 24 very nice and clean. There is a parking garage one next to the gym and in the back and you can also park on the side of the street. They have a pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, weights room, basketball court, spin class, etc
Not really a complaint about the location. Staff were polite. Ridiculous that 24 hour fitness offers a one day pass for 25 dollars. Atrocious.

Great gym. Live the Les Mills classes and all the times they're offered. Body pump is the best ever.

I like this location. They have nicer and newer devices. Usually very clean and nice staff

Went and did the tour, and the tour guide/salesman was awful. He didn't listen to what we had to say, and was super rude when we refused to give our credit card info after we had ALREADY said we were going to shop around before committing.
The facility was extremely crowded at 11 am on a Monday, with a weird shaped basketball court and sloppy set up with the weight machines. It didn't seem too clean, and would've cost $85 per month for me and my husband... Not worth it! There are definitely cheaper and nicer places around here.
The only 24-hour fitness in Houston where you can go to get a serious workout in peace. There is no heavy traffic even during peak hours as the wait time is minimal, if any, for an exercise machine. In addition, they have more than one alternative for a particular exercise equipment.
The sauna is always clean and very comfortable (no standing due to a crowded room) but the sauna is always being repaired.
This gym is terrible. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. My boyfriend added me to his gym membership last year and was paying over $30 extra. When he canceled my membership, the employee he talked to did nothing and he continued to be charged for the next 6 months. When he noticed the charges were never adjusted to just his membership alone, he called the gym and spoke to the general manager there and also called the national line and was told there were no notes or attempts at canceling so they couldn't do anything. Instead, they offered free training sessions, not CORRECTING the situation whatsoever. That is at least $204 down the drain because their own employees can't do their job. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSIBILITY ON THEIR END. DO NOT GO HERE!
I really hate this gym. Where do I begin?
1. The fitness manager WILL NOT stop pressuring me to buy personal training sessions. It makes me uncomfortable to have to walk into the gym every day and dance around to avoid him.
2. There are always 3 or 4 machines that I routinely use, that are always Out of Order. 2 of the 4 Stairmasters are usually broken. 1/3 of the treadmills are usually broken. It's ridiculous. And the equipment that DOES function, is absolutely filthy.
3. The women's bathroom is absolutely horrific. Always wet toilet paper on the floors, always hair all over the showers, always water around the sinks.
4. Other than spin classes with Taylor, the classes are horrible. Most of the instructors are overweight and out of shape.
5. The parking garage is a mess. Tight, narrow corners, crazy drivers, no lighting. An accident waiting to happen...
I could go on and on.. Save your money. Invest in a better gym elsewhere. :)
It gets 1 extra star for being sub 50 bucks a month
I was a member of this gym for 18-19 months and worked with an outstanding trainer. The facility has a good selection of machines, although it can get very crowded at peak hours. The reason I am giving them only 2 stars is because of the facility management. At the end of one of my training sessions early in January (2018), I went to the locker room and found out that someone has broken the lock and taken my valet, cell phone and key chain, including the key-less entry device for my car. The facility filled a form and told me that someone from 24 hour fitness will contact me. Given that we live close to the gym and because the person who stole my belongings had my drivers license (= home address), car key, etc., I did not feel safe or prudent to go back to that gym anymore. I asked them to refund the remaining part of a training package that I had purchased recently, but they refused, informing me that theft of the belongings is not one of the items on their regulations that allows one to get a refund for a training package. Moreover, nobody from 24 hour fitness even bothered to get in touch with me to say they are sorry that this has happened. I called their headquarters a couple of times; they promised they will follow up, but nothing happened.
What was really disappointing to me was that from my conversation with one of their managers and also based on their Facebook page, I learned that they have had multiple such events in recent months. However, instead of alerting the members to be more vigilant and recommending that they use stronger locks or simply leave their valuables in their cars, they kept this quiet, presumably to maintain a good reputation. Even my trainer was shocked to hear that multiple thefts have occurred at the facility in the last 3-4 months, suggesting that the management kept this information from its own trainers.
Love the yoga, body pump, and spin classes! Love the bike, elliptical, weight machines, and free weights! Love the sauna!! Fantastic value, friendly staff, clean equipment! Thank you for 6 years of excellent membership!
This location is my favorite one in Houston. The locker rooms are very nice, and whoever is managing now knows how to do it right. They've got towels, tampons, hair dryers, vanity stools... Hands down the best 24 Hour Fitness locker room. The cardio room is a little outdated. The stairmasters are all old and about half of them don't work. If you're tall, you may hit your head on the ceiling above the stairmaster, there isn't much clearance. Most of the machines have personal TVs attached, which is a nice touch. Can't speak to the weight equipment, but the sauna and pool area are nice (I like that you can see out to the street through floor to ceiling windows all along the pool). All of the staff is AMAZING. Super friendly and helpful. The classes are great and the instructors are top notch. (I'm looking at you, Christi and Georgeanne!)
The weights, cardio and basketball ball are all good but the pool and shower rooms are awful,
There is so much germs and dirt at the pool's inside walls and in the water.
I doubt that they clean the pool even once a year.
The good thing is their staff they are always nice and friendly
Better than before! Now it feels more like a luxury gym like the LA fitness Signature gym in the loop. Someone always greets you when you walk in the door and when you leave, towels and extra amenities in the locker rooms. Even the other patrons are friendly. Only if the women's restroom would smell nice and not like it needs to be thoroughly cleaned, then i would give it a 4.5. Plus the proximity to Rice running trail and Rice Village makes it's easy access to a night cap on your workout, if you need a run or are meeting friends for a healthy dinner
The equipment here always seems to be broke down. The steam room has now been broke for two weeks also there was no hot water for a week here, so after my work out couldn't take shower unless I wanted a cold shower. The timeliness of maintenance issues here are unsatisfactory. I would go to another location that is closer but the other gyms are more crowded so that's why I come to this one. Might just cancel my membership altogether. Also the staff in late evening seems to never be at the desk. I think I could get better service else where. Don't waste your money signing up with membership. I pay $42 for all club membership but when I first started my membership again 2 years ago I was only paying $31 including tax an did increase after 2yr plus still charge me $50 annually.
Nice location, okay facility, watch out for the sales up-sell. More geared toward weighlifters, but good classes and instructors too.
Relatively nice gym with a whirlpool, friendly staff, and good classes. However, the layout is weird (4 floors with bathrooms only in the basement and the top floor); parking is a nightmare during peak times; the sauna and steam room are unfortunately by the pool, clothed, and co-ed, instead of being inside each locker room (men's vs women's); the AC is waaaay too cold. Not enough benches and mirrors in the men's locker room. The doors in the showers get moldy and smelly (they should just be removed altogether, as curtains would get equally nasty; mold and fungi are gross and unsanitary); water in the swimming pool is often freezing during fall and winter before they make up their minds to start heating it. Landscaping is precarious. I went to this gym for at least half a decade. Whenever I gave suggestions for improvements (a new rope pull down machine for the entire upper body, wooden-slate jogging machines that protect your knees, thicker and larger mats for stretching, a climbing cardio machine, etc.), I was repeatedly ignored, even by the manager. I never got a response to my e-mails or an explanation as to why the proposed improvements weren't possible.
Best gym in the city. Always clean, friendly staff, and great equipment. Lots of light in the gym and has everything you need. Ask for David, the sales manager. He is the best! Kudos
First time at the location. Parking was little crazy. I enjoyed the selection of free weight and machines. Spacious and even had punching bag. The club was separate into multiple levels. Only thing I didn't like was the basketball court it was awkwardly
