It is a stunningly beautiful hotel. Some of the rooms make you feel like you're in a tree house. The room service was great, the food tasted awesome. The rooms were clean and everything worked great.

Literally my only complaint is that at about 1030a they started some very very loud construction with no notice. I almost had a heart attack it was so loud lol. Perhaps some warning at check-in perhaps? Yikes!

I definitely will be back though. I love the Houstonian.

My family and I had a great time at the Houstonian Hotel. The location of the hotel provides easy access to just about everything you need in and around Houston. What is the most surprising about the hotel is how secluded it feels. It allows for a quick and easy escape from the city without having to leave the city.

Room was just perfect with beautiful interior and comfortable bed. Infrastructure was beautiful. Staff were professional. I enjoyed the spa. Great location.

I asked for a couple bottles of water for our kids before bed. Room service brought me two $10 glass bottles of water from Italy. The items in the refrigerator were expired. There was no clear signage to the pool and the pool employees acted like they were in a hurry for us to leave in the evening. Breakfast for 2 kids and one adult was $50. Self parking was $16. They really know how to nickle and dime you here.

Beautiful hotel and first class experience. My wife and I sincerely appreciated the hospitality from Jasmine at the front desk and the professionalism of the parking/valet attendants.
We will definitely come back next year during the Christmas season to enjoy the decorations.

Loved our stay at the Houstonian! The service here is fantastic from the first person encountered at the valet to each staff member we met throughout the entire stay. Our room was upgraded and the front desk offered to have a car take us to dinner. Highly recommend the concierge level. Our only regret was that we did not have more time here to explore the lovely grounds.

This was not my first time at the Spa but it was definitely my last. Whatever you do...CHECK YOUR INVOICE BEFORE LEAVING! I was charged for services and items not received. BOTH Renee and Steven are extremely RUDE. There are other resorts and spas to go to in Houston. I will be getting a proper refund from my credit card company and will not be returning

Is a traditional cabin French grand ball Victorian influenced hotel. It was like you were high class, admiring art, and drinking wine in the hallways. The bathrooms are well maintained and elegantly laid out to have your own personal stall with wooden blind doors. The tile was sparking and clean of debris. The sinks were cleaned and provided a light microfiber fill towels to dry your hands off with that leave your hands clean. Waste receptacles at all door entries to throw your towel away if needed because you have to enter two doors with handles before leaving in the bathroom. The doors are heavy hardware, but easy to push with some elbow grease. The bellman greeted me upon entry and I had to bellmans wanting to open the door for me. Wow, factor pre-entry five star atmosphere. I really enjoyed the environment. The only distracting issue is construction to renovate common areas, and new inspired restaurant influenced by Texas, Louisiana, and Mexico called Tex-Mex.

This is an elegant hotel with an emphasis on quiet old school service. The front staff is friendly and discreet. The concierge floor has a full time concierge who will take care of everything from ordering your car to recommendations for outings. The bar is under renovation but one can hardly tell that work is underway. Room service menu does not have a big selection and the breakfast I had (smoked salmon) was not top tier, but I am a salmon connoisseur. The dressing on the Caesar salad was bland. Despite that small criticism, this hotel gets a 5 star. Why? Check out the view from my fourth floor window. One feels as if one were living in a tree house, not a concrete jungle. See, the old school elegance even has me talking in the third person.

The staff here are soo attentive and nice. The rooms were very nice and clean but the decor was a little outdated...some kinda vintage rustic southern mix. The fitness center and outdoor pool were great. Security will kick you out for skinny dipping after hours though.

What was I doing here again.....? OH YEA!! I got married here over Memorial day weekend. By far the best service I've received at a hotel, ever. No joke, and I've been to a lot of hotels around the world. The rooms are a bit dated, but you will be sleeping in a heavenly bed. All of the amenities are out of sight. Beautiful property, world class service and well laid out. I will still give a 5 star rating even though the self parking garage is a nightmare.

Well located Hotel with resort feel. All the amenities, spa area, gym, a beautiful outdoor running track with lots of greenery and three pools! The restaurant is currently being renovated, but nice choices at the bar area. I had a steak and crab, it was delicious nice selection of wines and bottled beer. Another more upscale restaurant is available on the property.

I removed a star because the rooms while clean and comfortable feel dated, especially the washrooms.
Regardless we have been here twice and will be back.

In spite of a very disturbing treatment at the World Renown Spa, Trellis, I had a phenomenal stay at the hotel. Staff made me feel valued and very special. Hotel staff showed a true appreciation of their customers and were very customer friendly! I want to give a special thanks to Manager Jorge Perez who took responsibility for the bad treatment I received at the spa since Spa staff and personnel refused to do so! Thank you Mr. Perez for turning what could have been a disastrous stay to a very rewarding weekend!!

Grand hotel. has a bit of an old school and at times dated feel to the rooms but the communal areas are rather grand. Tons of facilities including an extensive leisure centre, numerous function rooms and restaurants.

The Sunday brunch is a pretty extravagant affair with a ton of choice of an overall good quality

All interactions with staff were excellent - very helpful and polite.

My wife, baby and I stayed at the Houstonian for three nights. We had a very nice experience. The guest service was impeccable. We enjoyed the outdoor pool areas. (There are no indoor pools.) We initially had trouble accessing the pool area with our cards, but the desk service was helpful and someone showed us the correct gate to use. We also took our baby to play for a couple of hours in the Houstonian Club and played inside in the supervised children's area and outside in the playground.

I've been here (At the Spa)two times and both times I have received an excellent service. Spa Installations are great and the lunch I had was very good. I loved the warm shoulder bags they give you upon arrival! Very relaxing.

We stayed here for some business meetings, and I have to say...I'm not sure that I get the hype. I spend about 150-200 nights in hotels every year and the Houstonian was not bad, but also didn't really stand out for me.

So, let's start out with the good stuff. The staff was awesome, and we're always more than willing to help out. They were kind, helpful, and everything you would expect. Also, the grounds we're very pretty and well maintained. The big room up front had a gorgeous fireplace and was perfect for this rare occasion of cold weather.

On the downside, the rooms were dated, the bathrooms we're tiny, and there was tons of construction. Also, I lose a fair amount of respect for any hotel that isn't downtown and charges for parking.

Long story short - good experience, but I just expected more given the hype. Didn't get the chance to try the spa so maybe that's where I'm missing out.

This hotel continues to be a Houston Icon. It is full of dark wood, a grand staircase, lobby and keeping room with a gigantic wood burning fireplace. It was decorated magnificently with organic greenery, flowers, ribbons, and ornaments with a little sparkle. The staff is top notch, professional and friendly. The grounds are stunning. My picture shows the famous oak decorated for the holidays. It was the centerpiece for the wedding we attended. Our room was small with modern decoration and amenities. The bed and pillows were soft and very comfortable. I would love to transplant that beautiful bed and linens to my home. It would be nice if the bar was larger. It became very crowded, noisy, and hot, standing room only with any sizeable crowd in there, so we left the bar quickly and retired to our rooms.

My wife and I stayed one night on 12/16/17. The hotel is beautiful and the holiday decorations were amazing and memorable (we took a ridiculous amount of pictures). Beyond appearance, the hotel seriously lacked service. No one at the entrance offered to carry our bags nor did the front desk offer assistance to carry our bags to our assigned room, which felt like a mile away from the front desk. On the day we left we once again didn't get any assistance to carry our bags. While waiting for valet to get our car, the few available benches were wet, which could have been easily dried with a towel. We waited too long for valet and decided to pick it up our own car. Although valet acknowledged they were going slow, we were still charged the full $30 valet fee even though we picked up the car on our own. This is a premium hotel that should offer premium service.

This experience was so special to me. My husband got us a couples spa day as a surprise for my birthday. I had never had a professional facial or massage done before. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in answering our questions and helping us feel comfortable. Tiffany and Robyn were amazing. I loved the different stone and wood details throughout the building. I loved that my husband chose the Holiday season to go, it is absolutely my favorite decor season. The fact that we were unplugged from technology made it a greater experience. It was weird at first not knowing what time it was or not taking pictures but it definitely helped us enjoy it better. It was an unforgettable experience.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the cheapest rates around...

Stayed here Mothers a Day weekend. A glorious place fur a weekend retreat. Several pools to choose from with bar and food service available. The lobby was exquisite. The service impeccable. It was look going back in time when old world resort destination vacations were the fancy. They have a jogging trail that circles the property. Rooms were nice and lovely. I highly recommend a weekend stay here.

The Houstonian is lovely. While I am not a member personally, I visit with friends occationally and they staff is always professional and friendly. I took a spin class and the instructor was great. Equipment was top notch. The facilities are beautiful. The kale and beet salad is delicious. I guess the only downside is the cost, but as a guest that's not an issue!

I can't believe I forgot to write this review! I really loved this place.

My sister requested this hotel for our staycation in August. I can't tell you enough nice things about the staff and the beautiful grounds. We had three rooms, two connected and the other was across the hallway. My room was amazingly relaxing. Outside my window was green, private and beautiful. We spent our weekend lounging in one of their three pools (The one with the hot tub) and having some very good drinks by the pool bar. Overall it was a very nice experience and we will definitely do it again.

Beautiful hotel and campus tucked away near the galleria. Concierge service is top notch. Staff was simply amazing. The pool area is quite the place to lounge on a hot day.

Nice hotel, area is a bit confusing as large compound and GPS may take you to the wrong entrance. Rooms are clean. Pricy but convenient if you have a conference here.
