Customer service employees should be trained in solving customer problems. I did not feel very well attended after I explained my problem today. This was my first day at the gym. Hope the future will change the way I feel about this place.

A fantastic gym with great facilities. What sets this gym from others is the standard of cleanliness, as well as the members who are respectful and nice. I've been to other gyms in the same network where members just leave their used towels on the floor expecting the cleaning staff to pick up after them - resulting in a huge mess in the locker room.

Be careful of their cancellation policy! They require a 30-day advance WRITTEN notice or a cancellation at the fitness center. I acquired my membership through a corporation I was working for who had leased space at Lifetime Work. The company was paying for my membership and once I left the company and Lifetime Work I did not realize it was my responsibility to cancel my Lifetime Fitness Membership. They did require my credit card information once I started, which they told me I could use at the gym for smoothies, food etc through their app. A few months after I left, since the Corporation must have stopped paying for my membership, Lifetime took out $139 from my back account. I have not known that I had a membership for 3 months and yesterday I see $139 was taken from my account. They will not return this money. They told me that the money is first taken from the corporate account and if that fails they use the personal account that was required. None of this is explained, but maybe I should have read the fine print. I was very busy with a new job and lots of paperwork so I did not realize what I was getting into. I am sure Lifetime Fitness makes alot of money with this required 30 day written cancellation policy.

Dropped in for a visit (primary club is Greenway) and found it quite nice. Locker room is huge and they switched away from those clumsy lockers that required your card. Pool temp was just right, as opposed to last time when it was brutally cold. Hot tub and steam were clean and even had eucalyptus in the steam. Place was busy and towels were getting low. Had no problem accessing weights and machines I wanted. Parking was easy at 5:30am but was pretty full by the time I left. Large gym but almost invisible from the freeway feeder. Just take the second right from the beltway off the feeder into the parking garage. Life Time parking is on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Outdoor pool was closed when I was there, but they had lap lanes in the leisure pool, so plenty of room.

It has great amenities, don't get me wrong. It's does not have that big of a weight room as you would hope for when it comes to functionality. I'm a practical person, so once I get in routine, I am not going to move far from a schedule or training plan. There's so much variety, and I think this is great for a family; however, if you're a lone Jone like myself you'll eventually find you're paying extra for the sake of just having extra Programs available. As I'm ending my membership since I want to save money, I'm told right when I'm leaving that they have a student discounted membership. $15 a month. I don't even care if I get only certain days with that membership. I would of adapted to the times I can come in and work with what I got cause that's an amazing price. No one brought this option up at sign on and I've lost now $100's as a student. Had I of been told about this amazing deal PRIOR I would of never run into this issue debating whether or not my membership is worth it! I would assume a salesman would be taking in my info, see my age, and then ask if I was in school. Never once crossed his mind to mention all possible programs for me that I could benefit from.

The gym is great.... very clean and has everything you need. But the policy on putting your membership on hold or canceling or adding a new member is crazy. The nickel and dime you to death! I wish there was a comparable gym closer that my family could go to but at this point there isn't. So be prepared to pay and arm and a leg

During my stay in Houston for 2 years, I went to Life Time City Center almost every day because It's not just a gym, it's a great community which accepts everyone from everywhere. Besides great group lessons, It holds social events which helped me to make "LifeTime" friends. I never felt lonely in Houston. The staff is very nice. As I went there so often, I got a fit body to wear a bikini when I was 50! I was so fortunate to get into the LifeTime community. If I had joined in "chatting over tea" group, I would have looked totally different! I really recommend Life Time!

This place is always extremely crowded! It's definitely not a place to relax or enjoy a workout.

A great facility but parking can be challenging and equipment is limited between 5p-7p.

Be nice if they had the curtesy ball bump at the front desk like they used to.

I have been a member of lifetime fitness for more than 7 years (cinco ranch location). Our company is relocating to city center area and now i'm wanting to upgrade my membership and join this location. I went there on Sunday and requested a member of the team to help me upgrade. The guy at the front desk seemed very disengaged, bothered, and not willing to help. His answer was (well, they are all busy now). Are you freaking kidding me??? You are turning away a customer wanting to join your club by saying that?

I told the guy (I will wait, its ok). and his response was again (but they are all busy and I dont know when they will finish). Basically he was trying to get rid of me.

I'm very disappointed.... and feel that this company is not appreciating its long lasting members. The gym is nice but the staff seems to be rude and careless.

Climbed all the routes at the rock climbing gym. Very fun climbing with great wall features. The staff was very friendly.

Nice location. My only complaint is the parking. The gym has modern equipment and well kept.

This is the most TERRIBLE experience I have ever had!!
I first came here as a guest invited by my friend. Well, they didn't let us in With a really bad, impatient attitude. They said guest pass is only available before 9:00pm everyday, and We arrived between 9:00 and 9:30pm. Fine, But why didn't you tell my friend, at least ask her to see the rules online when she first created the account? It's 24 hours fitness center, for sure we'd think it's also 24 hours for guest.

I've been telling everyone How great Life Time is, I really wanted to join them, in the end they immediately ruthlessly slapped me in the face.

I have been a member of this gym for almost 7 years now. Never had an issue. Love the amenities. About a month ago , I made a mistake by leaving my bag in family locker room. I didn't realize they lock it at 8pm.When I came to pick my bag up the locker room was locked. I asked the manager on duty to unlock it for me. He took a very long time, I figured out why, later. To make the long story short, about $400 cash was stolen from my wallet. The only person who had access to my bag was him!!! Not that hard to figure it out. Contacted several managers, none took me seriously. They insinuated that I am making up a story. The CEO of the company never bothered to respond to my looong email on LinkedIn. The managers at the gym rude and care less. So, please everyone, leave your wallets in the car, may be safer!!!

Do not wast your time to leave a voice message, because they will never call you back. Best thing to do is call until someone answers or just go in in person.

If I could give this gym a zero the only thing good here is the cafe. Gyms never cleaned.
Always something happening. The management sucks . The salon is over
Price. And this is for every location. And you pay $120 for a "luxury gym" rather workout outside then come here.

During the week I go to the Galleria location, but on weekends I come here early morning and have no issues. The locker room is kept clean and I really enjoy the sauna. The equipment isn't as nice as the Galleria location, but it still gets the job done and I do appreciate how much more variety there is when it comes to equipment and amenities.

October 19, 2017 07:04

The membership price is high but the equipments are good. In the evening it is extremely busy and you have to wait for most of your workouts. The swimming pool is also nice. They recently shutdown the indoor soccer field to get more money out of the alpha fitness program which is not acceptable and so bad. Overall I am happy with the place and if they open the soccer field again I may give 5 star. Note: registering and canceling the membership is pain and you should double check and keep a receipt for anything!!

The facility is nice but I experienced a true "bait and switch" sales pitch from management regarding membership. Life Time has acquired the City Club and the Galleria Tennis and Athletic Club quite suddenly and recently. They apparently plan to close the large number of indoor tennis courts at the City Club location.
I met with their membership representative and very specifically asked if there would be add-on charges, like tennis court fees, in the future. He was very clear that there would be no fees and if I joined by the end on March, there would be no changes or added fees in the future. I joined for my family, committing to a year contract.
Based on his assurances, I brought over a friend from another corporation, and fellow member at City Club. I toured the Town and Country facility with her with the same membership representative. She asked the same very specific questions and was clearly told there were and would be no add-on tennis court fees. She joined.
About 1-2 weeks later, we both get emails indicating implementation of court fees. I complained and got no where. I asked to speak to a supervisor, who called several days later and promised to "Make it right." Never heard back from him. I was contacted by a trainer for a workout and I explained the issue. I was told I would be called that day. NO call. I was contacted again by the trainer and asked how the call went, and I informed her I never heard from anyone. Eventually I was called by the General Manager, who basically said "I'm sorry" but the charges stay. He basically told me I can have my money back.Basically it's "take it or leave it."
This is a poor customer service practice for a company basically coming in and taking over long established clubs. I imagine that is why they can be so dismissive of their sales practices.

I don't have a problem with the facility, the building, the pools, and the equipment are modern and usually clean. The staff at child care are attentive.

My problems are with the crowding and the sales/activities/account services people, and the kid's summer camp. Also, Parking.

OVERCROWDING: If you go to this location any time before 10:00 pm, or after 4:00 am, it's going to be crowded. But between 3:00 pm, and 9:00 pm, you're going to have to wait for equipment.

SALES/ACTIVITIES: First, it's almost impossible to speak with someone on the phone or get someone to answer an email. you have to show up in person during the times the office is open to talk to someone.

Recently, we signed our kid up for summer camp. She went for less than a week, and didn't want to go back. We found out it was because she didn't get to participate in the activities. The staff told her to sit on the side and watch.

It was very crowded when I picked her up, it seemed like there were hundreds of kids, the staff members didn't look like they had control of them. Also, they only separate kids into two groups, under 6 and over 6. So, the six year olds and the 12 year olds are in the same group.

The cost for camp was about $1,000/month. After the first week, we called and cancelled, told them we did not want to send her for the second month. They wouldn't refund the money for the first month, but although we called and cancelled after the first week, they still charged us for the second month.

PARKING: You have to park in a garage, which is usually full, so during peak times, if you get a parking spot, it'll probably be on the roof of the garage. There is supposed to be reserved parking on floors 2, 3, and 4, for Lifetime, but everyone parks there.

I used to LOVE this place, but if I were you looking for a gym membership, go elsewhere unless you're willing to dish out your money on this place.... Sure, they have a sweet facility; I guarantee when you walk in, you'll already be sold just by the looks of it. Hold on, though...

When you walk in excited to (maybe) sign with them, they probably won't tell you that their turf field is an extra $100+/month to use, because now it's closed off to everyone except those paying an extra hundred to use it (classes). It used to be a soccer field for others, but I feel so bad for those who'd play there since they no longer have a place to play. That turf field is a huge part of my training, but now I can never use it, **even when the field isn't being used**... Also, be aware that if squatting is your thing, you'll have to work your schedule around the racks, since those are mostly reserved, too.

I would have rated it less, but I'll admit I like the rock wall, yoga (awesome teachers and classes), and the... well, yeah. That's about it. So bummed about how much this place is changing.
