Gold's is always a pleasure to work out at. Great facility, good equipment and friendly staff. They sanitize regularly.

Many staff member are incredibly rude to patrons. This is astonishing since we are paying for them to have jobs. The trainers are great. It's the people at the front counter and even one of the owners. We have paid all through COVID despite not being able to use the gym. Surely, this should be worth something. Maybe it's time to try Verdure.

The owner was fantastic getting me setup. Everything was done for us before we arrived and got us great pricing and even let us tour the gym. Plenty of room and nice and clean. Very helpful and greeted right away.

Customer service is awesome. The equipment is great. The women's gym IS small but adequate. However I chose this gym for the availability the pool. Tonight I planned to go at 730 after the last class ON THE SCHEDULE. I happened to call in to ask a question before I left only to be told that several nights a week an outside source uses the pool until 830. Very disappointed. Will be looking in to another gym. If I cant use the pool according to schedule why bother?

Just found out that the other Gold on Bell st. Closed not cool. But this gym pretty decent. It has a lot of everything u need for a good workout..

Have been a gym many years. Looked forward to new owners & changes they would make & hopefully fix things that had been broken too long or too many times. This was not to be. Brought down half a wall,lots of paint, & all new floor exercise equipment. Hot tub in women's locker room is over 20 years old & broke or the jets don't work all the time. Takes week or more to get parts & is down untill further notice. Needs signage very much in women's dressing room. Carpet was to be taken out & has had plumbing problems many times in shower area. These things & others haven't been taken care of it is rumored because "they ran out of money". These need to be attended to because Gold's is a good gym & Kim Lane & other instructors are great & it is easily located for me. Hire back Melissa in child care & take care of your older clients too. Too much spent on aesthetics,take care of what's broke.

Cancelled my membership and still got charged for their new "Enhancement Fee", took care of that issue with my bank on 09/17/18. Then last night I got an email from Gold's payment processor saying that I had a past due balance on my account. Today (09/20/18) I talked with Kristen in the Business Office about the email, she looked up my account and it showed that my balance was $0 on my account.

Thanks for taking care of me, but the reason for the 2-Star is simply because it shouldn't have been an issue in the first place.

From my experience noone in this building knows the correct fees for the gym and they also don't want to help you get signed up there. They are very "I get paid by the hour" attitude. Noone showed me around. I told them I was comparing to another facility and they had no interest in "selling" their gym to me. Now I got charged almost double what I was told it would be and no has answered the phone after I have called for a straight hour.

I used to enjoy this gym (blackburn) years ago but after they increased my rates without notifying me (they said they sent an email of course i never received it) and just letting the gym go... meaning it was dirty, smells, mold in showers and just a lack of caring from the staff I knew it was time for a change. Its sad because Golds could be a great gym.

If I could rate this franchise a ZERO I would! Horrible customer service and untrained staff. The front desk gives incorrect fee information at sign up, your account is entered incorrectly, your credit card is incorrectly over charged and you leave messages for the owner for 2 weeks and get NO response! Do not waste your time, energy or money on this place with its uncaring owner and inadequately trained staff.....there are plenty of other fantastic gyms in Amarillo to go to!

Do not apply to work here. IT'S NOT WORTH IT. If you do, don't expect to be taken seriously, but to be treated as an expendable. A meeting was held at the beginning of the year talking about incentives for those who work hard. That doesnt happen. Only the office employees and their pockets matter. You get minimum wage and have to deal with complaints all the time, while being asked to do things outside of your job description that others will complain about doing, but then turn around and ask you to do the same thing because they're and office manager. Some of the office employees have done petty things like gossip. And personally, I dont know anyone that wants to work with people who spread gossip about them behind their back, on top of higher ups not really caring to do anything. Which is a crock. They're all petty children, trying to protect their own butts. The spa areas aren't kept up the way they need to be. The towel laundering situation is questionable, do not use ANY towels at blackburn unless you bring your own. And beware of all the "weird" folks in the locker room areas.

In town for work for a month, got a great deal, gym is clean despite some construction going on people are polite and the weights are heavy no fuss will come here again when Work is back in the area

I do want to say a few things about gold gym. I am leaving due to my work moving me to a different area.
But it was not great experience that I had at the gym. The reason I joined was that you offered classes and the ones I was able to make the instructors were great and friendly.

But the front desk staff needs some major training and some customer service.

When I signed up at first I was told by the lady up front that she was to busy to show me around or tell me anything about the gym (as she flirted with a guy who was there to work out) so to come back later.
I came back and a young man got a young girl to sign me up. She asked if I had been there or if I wanted to be shown around. I said I am not from this area at all so sure. Than she started talking and forgot to show me around...Also as I read the paper work I signed it said something about getting a free trainer session, yeah that was never talked about, and I was never given any information about that.
Also when I went in on a Saturday to cancel my membership first I was told by the front desk lady that the business office is open on weekends and that if I could not make it back in that day I could call to cancel my membership. So, I called later on that day and the lady on the phone said the ONLY POSSIBLE way to cancel is to come in on a week day and talk to the business office in person.
Per the paper work that I signed it said I could cancel through email- which was important to me since my work moves me a lot and on short notice....yup I emailed and the reply was you have to come in, in person...not sure how I can do that.....

Overall, I like the gym, and it's well equipped, but a few things could be improved. 1. The monthly fees could be lower, especially considering Zach's and other places offer much lower ones. 2. Why are only some of the ceiling fans above the cardio area ever turned on, but none above the weightlifting equipment? Why have the fans if not to use them? 3. One of the recumbent bikes has a screen that will not work, one has a seat that is jammed and can't be adjusted (it may be the same bike), and the other has a broken pedal strap. The bikes have been this way for months, now. I've reported it twice before and each time was given a line of BS about them.

It's a gym. And not a bad one. It's got weights, lockers, and showers. There are even extras like a massage table, a pool, racket ball courts, and classes. Compared to the other Gold's Gym, this place has much more equipment - just about anything you'd want and need. There's older equipment and newer equipment, but it all requires effort and motivation to overcome the force of gravity - that's where you come in... what else do you need? Not too flashy, but for the cost - this place has it all and then some - Love it.

There been the same band-aid laying in the sauna for almost two weeks now.. An I wish they'd do a deal with my apartments regarding discounts for membership since we are right across the street. I mean they allow people staying at the hotel to work out for free.. I mean I'd much rather pay a discount with a proof of address of course.

I am sad to learn that you care so little about your clientele that need the accessibilty that handicap parking allows that you would allow some pompous jerk to block it with their oversized truck. Shame on you, you should let this member know he is not only an ass but is an ass that is breaking the law. There is so much lack of attention to detail. The outside of this place is a mess. I have been driving by this place and a tree limb from one of the trees has been in the gutter for at least 3 months now. Looks like management would pay a little more attention.

Overall, I give this gym 5 stars because the gym offers everything I need and the staff are friendly. I personally enjoy the group fitness classes, and in particular the Boot Camp which is offered for an extra fee. Recommended.
