I'm using my daughter's account to write this review. 10 years ago I was told I needed a knee replacement. After many injuries and years of competitive sports my knee was in very bad shape. Someone suggested I try Bikram Yoga. I have been going 3 days a week faithfully since then and didn't have any kind of surgery to my knee. I exercise every day, run, spin and work as a personal trainer. I give major credit to Bikram Yoga for the shape I'm in both mentally and physically. I love my fellow yogis and the energy and support we give each other. Try Bikram Yoga Memphis. You won't regret it.

I have been a practicing physician for nearly 16 years. Half of that time, about 8 years now, I have been consistent in my Bikram Yoga Practice. As I have been careful regarding making fitness recommendations, this is my first review. While not everyone will find this practice to be initially easy, nothing worth having or doing if life necessarily comes easy. Having a consistent Bikram Yoga practice keeps me off blood pressure medications, and has warded off diabetes. Both of wish are strong in my family history. I am so much better with my family and patients because of this practice. I have learned a lot about myself and the importance of patience, empathy, and humility. All of which continue to grow. I am now at a place where I gift this yoga because I want everyone to try it for themselves and live its life long benefits. It has been the best one personal decision I have made in my life. Come check it out. See you in the studio.

My time at Bikram Yoga Memphis has been wonderfully rewarding in so many ways, and I often find myself encouraging others to give it a try. Although the same 26 postures are repeated in every class (I've only attended the Bikram sessions, although the studio offers a variety of classes and an extensive schedule throughout the week), in no way is any class ever the same. I've attended a class that seemed effortless, and the next visit I may find myself trying to find my breath! One never steps in the same river twice, and this studio always finds a way to challenge me physically and mentally. Great stuff!!

Bikram Yoga Memphis has been quite an experience for me. A friend mentioned Bikram to me a few months ago, and I told her she was crazy. It's a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, done in the same order in every class, in a heated room. I made up a lot of excuses for not going. There was NO way I was going to sit in a blazing room for 90 minutes and attempt to contort my body in ways it was not designed to go. On and on...

Fast forward, and I have just finished my first full month of Bikram, and have signed up for three more months. Crazy? YES! Awesome? YES!

I like the challenge, mental and physical. Though you are doing the same thing in each class, each class is NOT the same. One day I may feel as though I'm making progress in a certain pose, and the following day I can't do that same pose to save my life! I also try to not memorize too much the posture order or dialougue- it keeps me on my toes and makes me work 'a little extra hard'. Bikram yoga has been described as a life-long practice by the instructors, and they are correct.

When I meet a personal goal for my practice (my first was breathing exclusively through my nose, which is basically Step One), I give myself a mental pat on the back, and go right back to thinking about my next goal (Camel pose, anyone?).

Bikram Yoga Memphis has knowledgeable instructors and a clean facility. The East Memphis location is great, but I wouldn't complain if there were a Midtown location :-)

I would love for all who read this to take a chance and try Bikram Yoga. It is hot, it is hard, but it is so worth it.

I've been to over 16 Bikram yoga studios worldwide and this one is at the top of the list. I like the straightforward, energetic vibe of the teachers and such a fun, packed practice room the likes of which I've only seen out in LA. The room itself is hot yet comfortably humid, though I wish more teachers would turn down the heat in favor of more focus on the poses the than of sheer survival. To nit and pick, the changing rooms could use some help, feeling more like a gym locker room with metal lockers and a freezing cold concrete floor. Also, I would like to see a "leave your shoes at the door" policy as is the case in most other studios

I took my first Bikram Yoga class at this studio 3 years ago and have been consistently practicing for a year and a half now- consistently meaning 3-4 x's a week.
It is by far the most challenging work out that I have ever experienced and also the most rewarding. When I started out, I really had to focus on the mental aspect of it the first few classes. So at first I was constantly telling myself "I'm hot" "I need to get out of this hot room!" "I can't do this", but then once I started telling myself positive things like "I can do this" "I'm okay" "I'm dong the best I can", my whole outlook changed and I was able to focus on the physical work out.
It is tough, but once you start integrating it into your life, you will feel amazing! My skin looks great, I lost (and kept off) 10 lbs after doing it for 6 months and I rarely get sick anymore (which is hard to do when working with young children), and I have a lot more stamina when doing other physical activities.
You may think it's not for you, but you won't know until you try!

Best yoga in town (in my opinion)! Plus, teachers are friendly, encouraging, but tough on you in the best way.

One of the most amazing about this studio is the amount of conveniently scheduled classes on any given day. With my full time schedule, I was never able to keep a regular routine of yoga classes until I discovered that they offer a class at 5:30AM every day of the work week. The 8:30PM class is also doable for mothers who are juggling work and children. They just added a 7:00AM Sunday morning class which also shows sensitivity to those with a family life. Since I am able to keep this routine going, I feel so much better, and I would strongly suggest checking out Bikram Yoga - Memphis on Sanderlin Road. Their schedule does not leave you any room for excuses. Check it out today.
