Instructors are excellent, encouraging, and have great music playlists. Staff are awesome. It's the people who go here who keep me coming back, too-- all working to be the strongest versions of ourselves, at our own paces, in a positive environment. Added bonus: this place has probably the nicest showers and amenities of any gym in Portland.
First timers should probably just watch a class first to see if the space, class tempo, music, and overall experience is to their liking.
I've never been a fan of gyms or classes, but I love this place. Classes are short and offered at good times, instructors are great and balance motivation with time to just work. I have only done the ride classes, but I hear the Barre classes are stellar too.

I love this studio so much. The staff is super welcoming to newcomers and spend time showing you around the studio, getting you set up on a bike (for Ride classes) and calling out modifications during class. The studio has all the amenities of a trendy studio without any of the cliquey, too-cool-for-new-people vibes that can sometimes happen.
The classes themselves are HARD, but in the best possible way. You can scale up or down your resistance/speed in Ride or adjust the weights you use in Barre to adjust for your level of fitness. I love the balance of a heart-pumping ride class with a toning-focused Barre class.
So glad to find such a great workout (and community) in Sellwood.
