I have taken a variety of MA courses around the country (Tae Kwan Do, Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, Penkak and White Crane Silat, Golden Gloves Boxing, Kali, Jeet Kun Do), and San Soo Tulsa is, by far, my favorite for numerous reasons: 1) The San Soo art form is amazing - if you are looking for an elegant system that emphasizes efficiency of movement and progresses from evasive to defensive to punitive to lethal, I am not aware of a better system to study; 2) San Soo Tulsa's instructors are very good, very thorough, well respected across many federations and will meet you wherever you are - whether a seasoned MA veteran or brand new to MA, these guys want you to get the experience you are paying for - not some pre-conceived notion of their ideal fighter (unless that's what you want); 3) Their rates are very competitive - they are about 1/2 the rate of many other schools in the area; 4) Their student corpus is very diverse - they have some beginners, several intermediate fighters, some serious bad-a$$es...and very few "egos"... everyone is at different fitness levels - we are all encouraged to go at our own pace and not try to kill ourselves; 5) Location and facilities - in the heart of Midtown, and right off the highway, they are very easy to get to and have a very nice room with an array of bags, workout gear, toys to play with, and a huge exercise mat that is great for developing balance and ankle strength. I have enrolled myself, my 12-y.o. daughter and my 63-y.o. father - we all get something different out of it (my daughter takes San Shau (San Soo "sport"), I take San Shau with her and San Soo "hard" by myself, then I take San Soo "soft" with my dad). Overall, San Soo Tulsa is a superb value and very "cool" place. I'd recommend it to anyone 8 - 80 who wants to get into shape, learn an awesome art form, hang out with some really cool people, and quickly attain tools that can be used in real-life scenarios.
