I love the classes and most of the instructors at the McLeod location. Jonathan Gallegos, Victoria Rodriguez, Melissa Hebert, and Nick Gerich are especially amazing!!! They motivate everyone in class and provide modifications as needed. They also inspire and genuinely connect with the class with great energy and enthusiasm. Mostly, I go to this gym for these classes and I try to tell everyone I know about them as well. Its been a wonderful experience because of these individuals.
Defined Fitness on San Mateo is a really nice gym. I very much enjoy the variety of group exercise classes offered as well as the volume of weights and cardio machines available. The locker rooms are pretty nice, but the showers could be updated a bit and it would be nice to have a swim suit spinner for the patrons. Finally, I would love to have separate steam rooms for the men and the women, but that does not detract from the quality of the club.
Low key, no pressure staff; very nice and accommodating. Clean facility with new and clean equipment. Great pre and post workout nutrition available in the easy access refrigerators. I go here several times a week because I work close by but I still find myself driving here to workout on the weekends; even though I live on the far West side of town.
Overall good facility. Yes, it can get crowded during peak hours, but it is what it is. Only downside is some of the classes fill up and fill up FAST. I've come half an hour early for a class, only to see it's full. It would be nice to be able to reserve classes online and be charged if you're a no-show, like some other gyms do.
I really enjoyed going to this defined fitness gym! They have a very large kid care center, a very large assortment of workout equipment, very nice staff, and overall just a very nice and clean environment. Would recommend working out here.
Great place to workout. Affordable 39.99 per month. There s always plenty of cardio equipment to use so you never have to wait to get your workout done. You can get in and get it done. There's also lots of exercise equipment, with plenty of mirrors to check your posture and form. Tons of free weights and exercise balls, and other accessories. Did I mention there is also a pool, daycare to watch your kids if you need it while you exercise. Furthermore they have coaching if you want it, supplements, and a variety of classes such as spin classes, high intensity, yoga, just to name a few. You name it and they have it. Staff is friendly but a little pushy on all the upsells when you first join but I suppose it's all part of it and their job. Overall I am very satisfied with what they have to offer which is pretty much everything I need.

They initially had trouble putting us into the system as the kid appeared new. I asked again to confirm that the price would in fact be $33 per person per month and they reassured me that it would be. Well sure enough, the bill comes back and its $87, nearly $20 more than we were promised. Since the deadline had passed to cancel, we were forced to incur the extra charges for the subsequent month. Don't believe them when they tell you what the charges will be. Get it in writing and dispute the charges when they charge you more, as they will lie to you.

I have been coming here for years and all of a sudden they bought new treadmills that shutdown in the middle of the workout. After weeks of bringing it up to the staff, I have beed told the newer tredmills have smaller motors and so they can't go above a certain speed. I would not recommend this gym for anyone who uses tredmills or who wants a gym that invests in good equipment. Defined fitness seems more intent on cutting corners than providing top quality equipment for its members.
One of the most diverse fund gyms, so many choices for your workout. Staff is great and very helpful.
The heater in the pool has been broken for a month almost. I wish they would make it a priority to get it fixed. There are always excuses. One of the main reasons I joined this gym over all the others on Albuquerque, is the pool. And I know you have other locations, but unless you pay my gas to go to other locations, this is the one I live near. Please take care of these issues.

Excellent facility with a wide variety of very well maintained equipment. Very clean and a comfortable temperature for working out. A broad range of classes with some really fine instructors. Friendly staff. A large parking lot that, in my experience, has never been completely filled.

This is my favorite Defined Fitness location. The atmosphere is very positive, encouraging, and non-judgmental. There is a variety of equipment that suits any level of physical fitness and the facility is always clean. I have been working with a personal trainer, Jeb, there for a few months and the sessions have been motivating and challenging and perfect for my physical fitness level. I am really seeing some results.

This location is close to my office and isn't usually overcrowded so I can get into the pool to do my workout without bumping into other people.
I love the location, the friendly staff, the organization of workout machine and weights, and all the awesome workout classes they provide to their members. I also love how friendly the staff are in the kids place, for I utilize their services every time I go, and am very grateful.
Great staff, and a place to work out. I go at least 4 times a week for my work outs, from treadmill, lifting, to water aerobic, that I use because of health. It feels great be mobile, instead of just sitting around. The staff are a great help to help me accomplish my goals.

To all the ladies out there (and guys too..)Unless you know a Joey Fordonski and Steve Milks, this is a good place to be. Giving it a 1 star because these two individuals slandered my good name and character with everyone here while lying about me stalking them at the gym. Staff (including corporate/the director of operations) didnt handle the incident the way they should have! In fact, because of their lies, I almost got permenently banned! I made the mistake of making friends with them and becoming their workout buddies a couple years ago. That's why I am saying to everyone (especially the ladies) to be careful of these 2! ;)
Great atmosphere, clean and lots of equipment to keep you busy. Absolutely friendly staff and yes.. Child care while you get your workout in; a huge plus.
The classes are fun and the gym is clean. Also, the daycare is an awesome benefit.
RPM with Amber C! Is a must for all members! I think her class needs more bikes it always gets sold out! So get there early! Great energy all around!

Reasonably priced membership for teachers, free child care, friendly workers, flexible hours, and plenty of available gym equipment.
At first glance, this gym feels dirty and overcrowded but they have doubles of almost every machine. The variety of equipment is amazing and it's fairly cheap for all that it has. It's always super hot, which I guess is good for keeping your muscles warm.
I heard some old men talking about how they follow around pretty girls, and that's super creepy.
I really liked this gym though, and it's a shame I don't live there anymore.
I signed up at the San Mateo location first. I appreciated the evaluation with Jason and look forward to working on building on what I am currently doing. I am now doing both water aerobics and yoga and attend at both the San Mateo and Juan Tabo sites.
I was not sure if I would be comfortable working out with slot of people who are very fit and I'm just beginning. It's very nice and people generally don't make me feel bad. They are there to do their business and they aren't worried about me. I like it. Very diverse group of people. Good energy. Great salsa and dance workout classes
Defined Fitness always has a well kept facility at all locations. The locker rooms are cleaned very regularly and some of the shower facilities have soap supplied for you (I wish the San Mateo location followed this practice...) It's one of the few fitness clubs that still has plenty of free weights along with machines, a good pool, and steam rooms all for a decent price. The staff is always prepared to help, they are courteous, and understand when you make a mistake like locking your keys in your car with your entrance tag and photo ID, which I happened to do yesterday by mistake.Ultimately this is one of the best gyms I've found and don't plan on looking into a new one any time soon.
Love this place. But your gonna need to find a good time to go. Once you find that perfect slot there's no complaints.it of course gets busy but there are definitely plenty of convenient times where its not. Doesn't take too long to figure the best times to go ; just wish they offered larger towels.
Folks are friendly, lots of options for how to get fit, or stay that way if you already are. Love love LOVE that I can come here as a benefit of the Presbyterian Medicare Advantage program. OK, so I started this fitness gig a bit late in life. I'm a Garfield at heart. Give me lasagna and a warm bed and I'm happy. But I'm retired and I want to be able to do the things I now have time for! So good-bye lasagna, hello strength building. I will keep the warm bed, though.
I really like this place the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's awesome that they have a daycare for the kids while the parents work out. Also the fitness classes are fun to do too. I love working out here and I would definitely recommend this place to work out at.
