What I love about this gym the most is the route setting, and the number and variety of auto belay options for when you just can't find a partner.
Some renowned setters put up quite thoughtful and challenging lines.
The monthly membership fees are extremely reasonable, and include yoga as well as other group fitness classes geared towards climbers for cross training. The kid area is separate from the main walls, which is also nice. I'm not super into bouldering, so I can't speak to that much, except to say there are lots of routes. There are also 3 nice treadmills, free weights, and another cardio/ gym equipment. A second location is coming soon, which will hopefully help with my one complaint... super crowded in the evenings and on weekends. Great staff, nice retail shop work great, guidebooks, snacks. Well worth the cost.

You like rocks? well you wont find them here because they are fake rocks that are real fun to climb. I enjoy, maybe you will too.

What an awesome climbing gym.I decided to drop in on my road trip to California since the gym was only blocks away from the Airbnb we decided to stay at. I went in at around 5 p.m. and it was pretty crowded with a good amount of adults and kids. staff members are very nice gave me a little orientation before I was let loose to go Boulder. the gym recently just had a competition so they were a lot of competition style boulders which was so much fun. Facility is very nice and very clean, I really enjoyed visiting. Day pass was around $19 will definitely come back here if I'm ever in the area.

Best facility I have visited. Kids love to climb here weekly. Oldest is in their club and learning a lot. Highly recommended. Can't wait until the new facility opens!

Great routes, facility is clean and modern. Down side is that there are too many little kids there for my taste . They really should have some days or times exclusive for adults. For 70 dollars a month they should cater to adults a bit more and get away from the chuckee cheese vibe. Climbing is great though when you can focus on a route without the kids taking over your space.

What a great climbing gym. I was passing through on my way to Red Rocks, and stopped in for a workout. Great setting, lots of bouldering and auto belays (for those of us climbing solo), but also lots of great lead routes. I really liked that they separate the warm-up area/beginner area from the lead climbing area. And the workout space is great too!

Came to ABQ for a climbing instructor course and was blown away by Stone Age. From top to bottom it is an amazing operation. I have climbed at gyms all over the country and this is the best run and maintained gym I have seen. Their customer service was top notch, employees were knowledgeable, and the routes were set well. I will definitely back if I ever find myself in ABQ again.

My 6 yo daughter attended their summer camp and it was such a positive experience for her! She had never liked a 'physical' activity before and she loved Stone Age. We will be back!

I had a great experience here. the gym is enormous with both a climbing wall and a bouldering option, and can entertain a wide array of ages from my parents to me to my ten year old brother. Would go again!

Prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly. Some people complain about the owner but he just doesn't want anyone hurt. Many fun routes with a large range of difficulty. The beginner room is nice for small children. large facility. Sometimes crowded but that's only because THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! The only negative about Stone Age is that kids run under climbers and I have nearly crushed a few 5-7 year olds, although I'm not sure there's anything Stone age can do to fix that problem.

Huge facility, great variety of bouldering, toprope, and sport climbing routes. I took my mom here for her first time climbing and she absolutely loved it though she started out scared to death. The employees were incredibly reassuring and very patient, addressing all her questions about safety and the basics. Only complaint is that the walls themselves have a rough, sandpaper-like texture (which admittedly makes smearing a bit easier), but can scrape you up a bit.

Awesome place to rock climb without having to drive far to remote locations. It's well taken care and they change it up pretty regularly too. The only reason I don't give Stone Age 5 stars is because it gets packed almost everyday. It can be tough to climb because of there can be so many people. Other than that, it's the best place to climb in Albuquerque.

Definitely the best place to climb in Abq! The facilities are really clean and the staff is always helpful. It's often pretty crowded though, and that's what keeps me from giving it 5 stars. They should definitely consider expanding!

Just got into climbing, and this place is fantastic. I've put in a lot of work, and am already working on 5.11 grade climbs. It's extremely fun and addicting...and the most challenging sport I've been involved in since giving up skateboarding in my late 20s. Great place to go nice people and employees fully recommended....

They honor our Second Amendment rights! (five stars already)

I brought my Girl Scout troop here today. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The girls had a blast. The manager was super accommodating for our large group for which we are grateful.

The equipment isn't brand new, but it's in excellent condition. There is a wide variety of courses to challenge you in whatever you need challenging. The cushions, floors, bathrooms, etc are clean. The parking is easy. I totally recommend this place for all your climbing needs.

They also have a specialty store in the front if you need stuff.

Great location to climb. Lots of "baby" walls to start off on, and other climbing obstacles in a very large facility. If you're a novice and know nothing (like me) it was a bit overwhelming at first - but there were helpful staff members to get me suited up. Recommendations: come dressed to climb. It sounds stupid, but I wore cargo shorts, crappy socks and a ratty T-Shirt (again, I was a novice...); the harness bit into the shorts, and the socks didn't go well with the climbing shoes. I'm now better for the experience, but save yourself the rashes and muscle strain.

Stone Age is a great climbing gym and a fun alternative to your normal work out routine. Also great for kids and a fun place to go with friends!
