This gym suits my needs to do PT, stretching and swim. I use a power wheelchair and this is truly a wheelchair accessible gym. I could not be happier with the staff and the quality of the amenities.
There's a large wheelchair accessible shower with shower seat and grab bars. Although there is no wheelchair lift at the pool or hot tub, having an incomplete injury I use hands and knees. After my swim or when I get cold (as I can't regulate my body temp), I crawl over to the hot tub which is divided from the pool by a small wall.
They have a dry sauna, a wet sauna, there's shampoo, soap and body lotion. The gym has a stretching machine for eight different muscle groups. As I can't do anything else aside from swimming, my review is based solely on the pool. Yes, the Downtown location probably shows its age here and there. But for me it's perfect.
The attendants are great. I cannot wish for a nicer and more professiona l crew. However, I can see that there has been a lot of personnel changes including managers over the last year and a half. The current manager is fantastic, so hopefully that will adjust issues regarding membership.
Give this gym a shot though; where else in Albuquerque would you find a pool, hot tub, wet and dry sauna in one location? They also have a ton of group exercise classes including spinning and yoga, and very motivating trainers, and nice members.
