It's big and clean. Fairly easy to get on the machines I want. I like to hit a variety of machines quickly and vary my routine to work different muscle groups but focus on core and get some cardio in also 15-30 minutes. I can be in and out in about an hour.

One of the best locations I have visited yet. I just wish they had the 30 minute circuit area that my home club has.

As far as a good gym for the type of weight lifting I prefer I have some reservations which all revolve around the lack of free weights and heavy dumbbells. The staff here is what sets this gym apart and keeps me coming back. Friendly, attentive without being disruptive and most importantly hard working. It is rare that the bathrooms are not cleaned at some point during the hour or two I spend here daily (I come at different times so not a schedule coincidence). I can't think of anything I care about more in a public facility than cleanliness and this place shines in this regard quite literally.

Inaccessibility issues with the men's so called locker room, dismissive staff and management, wholly unimpressive all in all. Do NOT go here.

You get what you pay for! Great place to work out no thrills gym. Plenty of equipment and the Portland location is relatively clean. They are currently remodeling and I am anxious to see the improvements.

What happened to the lunk alert. Sounds like bombs going off in the ladies restroom from the weights being dropped. Shakes the floor. Startled me a couple times. Mentioned it twice to staff and they just shrug their shoulders.

Wow wow wow. It's May 15th and I just walked into Planet Fitness and the locker rooms are closed until August for renovations. The problem is, no warning, via email (I didn't get one) and the sign on the door can't be more than a day old. That is one of the most disrespectful things I have ever seen a business do. Imagine you drive 45 minutes to workout and then after go to work in Portland, but you can't because there are no showers... and because you haven't yet taken a shower, you have to drive all the way back home. I don't even use the locker room, but I have friends that do and I watched them turn around and walk out this morning in disgust. Shame shame shame on you. Very poor management. This place is going to lose a lot of business for this one. I should also mention that the showers were renovated already not too long ago, so I'm not sure what they are doing that would take 2-3 months. I'm guessing it's just like fixing the exercise equipment they have (snails pace).

Staff is friendly. Decent environment to work out, most the machines are always up and running.

It has a dust problem though, I recommend not looking up at the ceiling rafters. Looks like it has not been dusted in years. Thats my only real complaint. Cant be good to work out with that much dust in the ceiling.

Cheap but crowded. The only free weights are dumbbells. No rowing machines. They do keep the machines in good condition.

Staff where real cool. Simple quick way to work out. Nice lay out of gym real spacious. Rob the manger is real awsome like the rest of the staff. Go Portland Main Planet Fitness you rock

One of the worst planet fitnesses.. Big building, with very few machines, whole bottom floor is just treadmills and the like.. Staff is boring and lackadaisical..

I never used their gym but they charged me anyway.
The girl at the counter was too busy talking to her boyfriend to give me a tour, so I assumed "its a big facility, I'm sure they have everything a normal gym has" and just signed up. I went to work out and found that they have no squat rack, nowhere to bench barbells that isn't a smith machine, and not even a bar to do unassisted pullups. It is like it isn't even a real gym. So within ten minutes I go back to the desk and say "I'm sorry, this place isn't right for me I don't need a membership after all".
This much would be fine. It seems like a nice enough place if you just want to use cardio machines or whatever, I would have nothing mean to say about them. But, she said she refunded my card and she didn't.
Then, for the past two months I have been calling the manager, and stopping in, and every time they say they will get back to me about fixing it and they never do. It isn't even about the measly $40 but the principle. This is a huge company and yet they spent 2 months giving me the runaround about refunding me for the membership I never used.

This gym is awesome! They will help you if you ask for help or leave you to your own devices if you already know what you are doing. This location has ample parking, great customer service, and I love that the locker rooms, showers, and overall site are ALWAYS clean!
