You may call me a disgruntled employee but I am not. There is a lot of pressure to sell sell sell and I don't believe in selling products and services to someone who cannot afford or do not want them. Also there's certain things about billing that I will not say (though I want to) because I cannot remember whether or not I signed a disclosure upon starting the job. Please beware when entering into any kind of contract with this location and inspect the equipment before you lay on it. I always cleaned beds but when I was training I watched the director only clean the bottoms of the UV beds and barely clean the hydomachine...yuck.

This place is fantastic. Wonderful customer service with pristine facilities. I love coming here for their facials and hydration services. They always have the scents your body needs getting defused into the air so you can ultimately bliss out. They always have wonderful deals so I always walk feeling like a million bucks without having to spend that.

I come during the week so parking is never an issue. And it's on a relatively quick part of the Quarter so other times, I've never had to park further than a block or two.

So the perfect place to spend a rainy Tues or relaxing Sun.

I loved the services that planet beach has to offer. Kourtney was super great and was also very knowledable of the services offered.

I had an experience there two years ago that i just learned i will be paying for today. This place was not very well maintained, but i was Trying to keep an open mind and use the facilities because it was close to my work and I was interested in all of the spa machines. The spa machines were not well maintained and one of them burned me. After going through some back and forth with the manager or owner (who always seemed to be drinking) I finally was told that I was let out of my contract. At that time I got a call a month later asking for payment. I explained again that the reason my payment information was no longer on file was because i rerminated The contract and if they ever repaired and got new machines then I would consider returning. So, two years have gone by and I have not received a phone call, letter, or bill from them until today. I get a call from a collection agency! For a contract that has been terminated. Apparently there is new ownership or management and for some reason my account they believed to be delinquent and without calling me they did this! It is outrageous. I would Never recommend going to this place it is so mismanaged, always seemed sketchy, and now I know it is. Other Planet Beach locations have clean and maintained machines, but I would never suggest anyone go here. In the past there were always a lot of folks coming in off the street and back and forth between the bars. Not very safe or healthy environment.

So, I do not know how to respond to the owner's reply. The new ownership is the reason that I am posting this. I have called three times and you still do not return my call. You bought this from the horrible previous owner and then proceeded to sell any accounts that looked like they were in default to a collection agency. Is that not what you all did? That is what the collection agency told me. You have not been real enough to respond to me by phone, but you respond to this so quickly. Had you called or written me when you bought the business we could have handled this. But, instead you decided to take a nasty approach. This contract had been terminated and you have truly messed with the wrong customer. Had you had the decency to call me in the first place I would never be on here. Again, I will never recommend because it seems that you will be running the business even worse than the previous owner.

Their facilities are beautiful and super relaxing... However, they don't stop selling you on things no matter how long you've been a member... You can never just go in and tan and leave... There's always something new they push on you.. which some people might like but I prefer to just get in and out and not have to put my guard up Everytime I go to leave and get bombarded with sales techniques... It just ruins the whole aesthetic of the place.. I give these women props though, they're good at what they do, but you have to know when to stop... Cause it gets annoying when you're already giving them $40 a month and they're gunning for more of your money and saying no gets exhausting. Some days I really wanna go tan but I don't because I don't feel like dealing with the pushiness... I even cancelled my membership because of it. Which sucked because I loved all their services but it just wasn't worth the hassle of products being shoved down your throat.. not to mention they won't give you prices until you're checking out and they make you feel bad for saying no. This place would be great if they all didn't act so desperate for sales. Is this commission based? I'm still giving it two stars because the woman who helped me was a very sweet girl and I don't mean to be rude about my experiences. It just wasn't the place for me..

Not a bad place, very close to Royal and Bourbon Street.

Hard to give a fair review because they were flooded (in that insane rain event we had here in New Orleans in August of 2017). As a result, they are currently (12/11/17) closed but their remodel is almost finished and they will be re-opening soon. Will have to check back when open again to possibly revise their rating.

I went out of town for an extended period of time and I've communicated with people at Planet Beach to put my account on hold.

Instead they kept my account active and consistently billing me. And it comes to the point they're harassing me up twice a day to collect money for an account that I'm not using, I've communicated that I wasn't in town. Completely incompetent. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Don't go here.

Hate to say it, but this place is filthy, and customer service is dreadful. On more than one (several) occasion(s), I showed up DURING business hours to find notes explaining that someone had to leave due to a family emergency. There were a few staff members that were really professional and lovely to interact with and one or two that made me uncomfortable.

My dermatologist recommended occasional tanning for a minor skin problem, so I got a membership. For months, I received a discounted membership for renewing on their, "Membership Appreciation Day", until today when I was told that those discounts are only for products, and that they had given them to me in the past "to be nice".

That reasoning, beyond being kind of rude, just made so little sense to me, because the entire purpose of "Membership Appreciation Day" was for members to receive membership discounts- at no point did anyone ever suggest that the discounts were reserved for products. I never purchased products. Furthermore, a manager had encouraged me to wait a day or two to renew my membership on MAD in order to receive said-discount.

I didn't argue with the employee/manager I spoke to. It didn't really seem worth it. I was polite, said thank you, and was hung up on. Not sure what I was expecting, considering all the red flags that had been raised leading up to this, but I guess I expected a little more. *end rant*

Worst tanning experience ever! Owner stood in the room with me, creepy to make sure I had goggles. Like mother hen. I felt like I was going to get molested or propositioned. Completely unacceptable. Then when I showed her I the Blink-Eze eyewear she told me they were not allowed in her salon and that I had to have goggles, get this, in the RED LIGHT bed! There is no known requirement to wear any eyewear in the red light as it is not a tanning bed. However, no one at any other Planet Beach or at corporate or in NYC that I have spoken with this year, could phantom why she had pulled that stunt except to make an extra $14 on goggles...The really sad thing was I just brought a friend in there who was eager to sign up with this place and she was next after me. I've been a long time client and that was the last straw with that lady. I went over to the Algiers location and I'm so glad I did even thought it's farther away.

The girl was super sweet but the place was small and dingy looking.

DO NOT BUY A MEMBERSHIP WITH THESE PEOPLE! Started my nightmare with this branch when I wanted a quick spray tan before going to a wedding. The girl basically refused to let me pay for a one time service and kept insisting I get a membership and that I could cancel at any time. I asked her repeatedly if she was sure and what were the strings attached, reminding her that I was in a hurry and didn't have time to read through the contract. She lied. The contract locks you into 2 years of payments. When I went back later to cancel, the owner laughed knowingly and hinted that this employee had done the same thing to other clients. Still, she refused to take any responsibility. She said I could cancel if I moved A THOUSAND MILES from any Planet Beach, but if you move a thousand miles away, you ALSO have to be able to travel the thousand miles back to cancel in person. And once you cancel, out takes 2 months (with payments) to go into affect.
