Awesome place but people who work at the counter deck should be shut up sometimes. Talking each other too much. Too much annoying
The people here are seriously so nice! There's a woman named Buffy that works at night she's so sweet and really cares about cleaning the place properly! It's the first time I've been to a gym where someone actually took the time to use the chemicals properly and make sure EVERYTHING is disinfected! It means the world to me as a germaphobe! Thank you Buffy!!
Love the variety of equipment and that they have plenty of it so that you don't have to wait for it. If they had a friendly staff I would rate them 5 star. I don't expect much, it would be nice if at least they looked up when come in. But hey it's a judgement free zone, so I'm not judging.
Great gym and affordable
I love this Planet Fitness. Always clean and I very rarely had to wait for machines. The staff is always friendly and the trainer Westin is super knowledgeable and helpful! I actually had to cancel my membership today because I moved to the other side of town and am really sad about it. I hope they open up more locations!
Been working out here 4-5 days a week for a year now. The gym is always super clean. Staff and most members are great.
Kind of irritating that when I want to downgrade to 10 a month you want to charge me 30 bucks when I told you I'm already having a hard time with money. Also was told a few months ago I was stuck in a contract until October but earlier this month I was told I wasn't and can leave whenever. Too crowded not big enough. Need places to go deadlifts.
Best gym ever! good people
Planet fitness is where it's at! Beat gym ever. All these other gyms locking you into contracts that you cant out of .. no fee.. nothing.. you cannot get out.. its ridiculous. Thanks planet fitness.. I should have never left. I'll be back and I 100% recommend!
This gym is pretty good for what you pay. Some staff are more friendly than others. But, generally, everyone in the gym is polite (meaning they don't bother you).

They're trying to add new equipment but they just don't have the square footage. It is so conjested in the free weight area there is barely room to walk between the equipment, add a hand full of people and forget it. I've been a member since shortly after it opened and it was a great place to go at a great value. Staff has always been great. But I'm starting to look for a new place. Hopefully they'll fix the poor layout and get rid of the stuff I rarely see people use, not add more. I really don't want to leave. A response from the owner, brownie points, I will draft a formal suggestion and see that Joel gets it. Thank you.

Moved somewhere that isn't near any of their locations and I'm stuck in this stupid contract. I'm going through hard times and can't afford to be spending money on a gym I can't even go to but they don't care about their customers, just the money. Wasn't even worth it for the month that I actually was able to go. These facilities were dirty, employees are rude and I was lied to when I signed up about terms of the contract.

Horrible gym with a horrible concept. They are basically a gym for people who are scared to go to the gym. They call it a "judgement free zone" but kick out bodybuilders and powerlifters calling them names on signs on the walls such as "meat heads" and "lugs" so if your serious about working out go ANYWHERE else.

This is a great gym with nice benefits for the black card members. Very affordable.

Good set of weight machines. Excellent hours. Low cost.
Their ads are true. No judgement. I feel very comfortable and welcome there even though I am not very fit, yet.
Planet fitness is a very great place to work at. The staff are amazing, willing to give a tour make you feel welcome.
Great gym for beginners or people who are getting back to it after being out of the gym for awhile!! Staff is always really friendly, there are no annoying people there. However, no real squat rack and weights only go up to 75lbs..
They don't have any over night lockers, after my first review, I realize now that it makes sense why. But when I asked the manager about this in person, he just scoffed at me, looked me up and down and asked me if the showers were the only reason I came there. Dammmmmmmn. It definitely made me feel unwelcome. I cancelled my membership right there. Not terrible facilities, but the manager was awful.

When my grandma passed away and I needed to move out because I was losing my home I tried to explain that to them. I hadn't even used my subscription that month at all so I asked for my money back since I was really struggling. They told me there's no way they could help me I was crying so they decided to give me some Planet Fitness brand shorts. What a heartless joke.
I've worked out at multiple gyms. To call planet fitness a gym is a stretch. If your looking to start somewhere it's great. But you will out grow there lacking equipment in a couple months. Planet fitness is great for cardio. Not much else.
I went there to join the club using Silver Sneakers for us old guys, and wanted to pay the additional $10 a month to use the vibrating chairs, tanning, etc. They said that was possible to do, and began the process of enrolling me. When the nice young woman said I would be billed $11.20 for the first month in January, I asked to pay for the entire year. I do not, under any circumstances, allow membership clubs to do a monthly debit on my credit or debit cards. It's just too hard to get them to stop, or to get your money refunded if there's been an error. Been there and done that. At any rate, the young woman said that they can;t do that, and I asked why, she couldn't give me an answer. Long and short of it is that I backed out. The place looked very clean and seemed to have an abundance of gear and equipment. Too bad they can't figure out a way to allow people to prepay their membership.
When I first moved to Boise a couple years ago I got a membership here to try to get more fit. Since then, I've cancelled not once... but TWICE to go to a different place but I always end up coming back to this place. I feel comfortable here and the staff is always so nice. I came in today to sign up for my third membership today (lol) and the girl who helped me at the desk was awesome. I don't think I saw her name but she has curly dark hair and was very helpful and kind. Having a membership at PF is very convenient. I'm glad I'm back and will probably stay for a while this time.
I'm going to this about 2 years. I love working out and I love this gym. I love the cost of this gym which is $10 a month. but like everyone mention about the hrs especially on weekends it close so early. Wish they change that. I wish they have more machines to work with, but I guess what you pay per month its justify that. Not everyone can afford Golds gym or anytime fitness etc
The staff is pretty friendly. they greet you with a smile. Gym gets very busy on Mons-Weds on rush hr which is 4-7. Careful not many machines are available
Sometime the bathroom runs out of toilet paper, soap etc which we need to remind the staff about it. But overall its a cheap place to workout. Have fun
I've been working out here for almost two years now, and I have never found anything to complain about in that time. This gym is not filled with roided out muscle heads or super athletes that will make you feel inferior. For the most part, you will just find average people that are trying to stay active and in shape. With that being said, the downside to this atmosphere is that the equipment leaves something to be desired. The only way to do bench press is with a smith machine, which kinda sucks. The free weight dumb bells and bars don't go up that high in weight (not that that has ever been a problem for my scrawny ass, though). If you are a fitness junkie or a serious body builder, then this probably is not the gym for you -- but if you just want to get/stay in shape in a relaxed, judgment free atmosphere, then I would highly recommend this gym!
I work temporarily in Boise throughout the year and tonight was my first time at this Planet Fitness or any Planet Fitness for that matter. The location is convenient and the gym was pretty clean especially considering that I arrived about an hour after the evening rush subsided. I was initially greeted by a very courteous staff member. He very politely explained their hours and that they offered a $5 weekly fee (which fits my schedule perfectly). He got me signed up, explained the check in process for the rest of the week and the gym to me. I was pleased to find the place pretty open, only about ten other people working out. Tons of cardio equipment, stretching room, a lot of machines and a ton of core options. Lots of Smith Machines, free weights and benches. Only downside for me was there are no bench press stations, you have to use the Smith Machines and a portable bench. By no means the end of the world, especially given the price.
I highly recommend this gym, especially if you're traveling.
I have been a member of Planet Fitness for about 4 years, and I love working out here! The price is extremely reasonable - I have the black card which is $20 per month, but the regular fee is $10 per month. The black card membership allows you access to tanning, massage chairs, etc. and also makes it so you can work out at any other Planet Fitness in the country. The gym is a great size with plenty of machines, an area to stretch or do body weight exercises, good free weight area, etc. The only bad thing is there are no squat racks - only smith machines. The staff does a good job of maintaining the equipment and the gym is pretty clean. I would definitely recommend working out here. A lot of bang for your buck!
