The staff was awesome, I was in town for vacation and they were so welcoming to me for even just a day pass visit. The free weight selection was a little small (only one squat/power rack) but everything was neat and orderly, and everyone was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a place to workout in the downtown area.

It's well equipped but it's quite old. Although, the service it's fantastic. They always remember my name.

Love my gym. Excellent equipment, rarely more than 10 other people there so never have to wait to use equipment, great sauna. A+

Air conditioning broken for over a week. Hotter and more humid inside than outside. Towels thin and hard. Sweat so much after shower without a/c that you need a shower after you leave.

A/C system is constantly broken, I have been going to this gym for 4 months and the AC system has broken down twice the first time it took 2-3 weeks for a repair. Now it has been broken again for over a week I asked for a eta for a repaired AC and they couldn't give me a time frame. The front desk staff is apologetic about the uncomfortableness of the gym but ultimately unhelpful.

Top 5 reasons Fitness On Broughton is better than a big-box chain gym:

1. Dedicated space for powerlifting with Rogue rubber plates.
2. Spotlessly clean from top to bottom, including the men's facilities.
3. Orderly weight room with deep variety of free weights and machines.
4. Friendly, personalized service.
5. Fantastic location in the heart of downtown Savannah.

Whether you're visiting the area (like me) or shopping for a membership, give this local gym a shot!

This is the only gym located downtown where I work and live, if it weren't for that convenience I would have joined elsewhere long ago. For the most part all of the employees are helpful and friendly. However it seems like things are constantly broken or being repaired. The A/C has been broken for nearly a week in the middle of July, the temperature in the gym has reached over 80 degrees. The sauna and steam room are constantly breaking and will be closed for weeks on end. Equipment will disappear from one day to the next. The tanning bed is closed due to leaking, all amenities that are paid for in your membership, but you aren't able to utilize them. Join planet fitness if you have the option.

The service is good, and I appreciate that they will work with you - to some extent...
However, the equipment is sorely lacking. It is a good gym to visit, but not a great gym to call your own - especially if you are into spinning. The bikes are decrepit and need LOTS of tending to be more than barely useful. It took ALL of my strength to be lift the seat 2 inches, and I'm no weakling.

The bikes also face a wall, so in order to be able to inspect your form, you have to move the bike. In addition, I spoke with a lady who said she had complained several times about the bikes to no avail.

Basically, good to visit, but don't expect modern cardio machines.

This awesome gym hosted a Bachelorette Boot Camp for our Bachelorette group. It was an absolute blast! Madison led the class and kicked our booties. We did a 90s theme HIIT class-- complete with outfits and a rocking playlist. It was such a fun way to start the weekend!

I travel often and frequent many different gyms...this is by far one of the best gyms I have traveled to. The staff was friendly, and though the daily pass rate is a steep $15 compared to the industry standard of $10, it's money well spent,

Fitness on Broughton has been my gym for 4 years since I moved to downtown Savannah and I have watched it go through a transformation. At first, I only went to this gym because of the location... the customer service was lacking - very few people were friendly, and the equipment was constantly having issues. I noticed a huge change as soon as Denise became the manager. Denise really cares and hires friendly and considerate people. I regularly attend the 5:30 classes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday led by Sean (TRX and Insanity.) I love that these are included in my membership. I continued to go to these classes until I was 38 weeks pregnant, and Sean and the rest of the staff were so accommodating and welcoming and never discouraged me from working out while pregnant, and would help me find modifications when necessary. I feel like family with most of the evening staff and made sure to come show off my "fitness baby" when he was born. I also had no problem putting a freeze on my membership via e-mail for a couple months after my baby was born and I was unable to work out.

The gym suffered an unfortunate setback in the last year or so when equipment was damaged by leaks from Starbucks, but Denise did everything she could to make it right as quickly as possible. All members got a free month to help make up for the situation that was really out of her control. On the plus side, a lot of the gym was redone when this happened, so it is better than ever.

If you previously had a bad experience with FOB, I highly recommend that you give it another chance, as it is truly a different gym than it was a few years ago. The customer service is great, the downtown location is great, and the classes are great.

Every time I'm in town, I stop by this gym. I love the atmosphere. It's a cozy "traditional" gym with no frills.

In town for business so I stopped in. $15 day pass. Pretty much everything you would need

Ok gym. Terrible customer service. Have told the gym to cancel my membership four times now over six months and still being charged. Encourage you not to join
