Coach Kenna is a the best Coach. She makes one out of shape guy feel welcomed. Coach Joe is very instructional and helpful as well. Symphonie always makes sure I am doing well and convinced me to change my life and join OTF.
The pricing is outrageous when compared with non premier studios. You can go for half price in Virgina which is 10 min away. This inconsistency should be addressed.
Nice facility and enjoyed being to do open gym during all the hours. Coach gave great customer service and responded to online questions quickly.
Best workouts I've ever had. No chance I'd push myself this much on my own. Great variety, technology and coaches.
Orangetheory Fitness is an intense work out that follows the same base format (a third on treadmills, a third on rowers, and a third on the weight floor). Within that format, each day is different based on what you do on the treadmill, rowers, and weights. The treadmill asks you to either run at your base pace, push pace, or all out pace. The rowers often have you row for several hundred meters and then do squats, jump squats, or a weighted ball work out in between. The weight floor sees the most variety from bicep curls to core to abs.
Everyone does the work out at their own pace, but the goal is to get your heart rate to the orange zone. That means everyone is wearing a heart monitor and you can track your progress on screens. The playlist is always on point and inspiring.
This particular location is in Navy Yard by Slipstream. It's larger than other locations and has two unisex bathrooms and two showers (bath towels are not provided, but shampoo, conditioner, and soap are). The lockers have their own locks on them that are easy to use. The staff are super nice at this location.
The only complaint about Orangetheory in general is the price tag. It's expensive! All locations within D.C. are considered premium locations so it's more expensive. For the unlimited class package, it's well over $200 a month.

I am challenged every. single. time. The instructors are super motivating. The music is on point. The front desk people are super friendly. Participants grind together through the misery. Need I say more?

Beware of cancellation policy. I tried to cancel a few days after a new period started. I had to pay for that entire period (which I expected) plus the entire following month. Orangetheory has a 30 day notice cancellation policy, which means you must pay for the full next month if it starts before the 30 day period is over. After I cancelled, I effectively had 55 more days of service I had to pay for instead of 30.
Be sure to cancel right before a new pay period starts.
its different every time and the coaches are motivating and encouraging
I love everything about it! It feeds everything I need for my personality type. I have numbers to physically look at and gauge how I am doing, I have an experienced instructor encouraging me, and my competitive edge is being challenged. Best gym I've joined in years!
