I've been practicing yoga for a number of years now. I've been to all the studios in and around the Stamford area. Harmony Yoga is by far the BEST!!! Carol Shwidock is experienced, has an attention to detail, and she listens to each and every student. Every class seems like it was designed just for me. You owe it to yourself to try her class. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

I have been practicing yoga at Harmony yoga for many years, and I always leave the class learning something new, be it a pose or practical wisdom for the life off the mat. Carol is a wonderful, experienced, caring and supportive teacher. The classes are never the same, and they are catered to various needs and levels. The atmosphere is welcoming and non-judgmental. The space is beautiful, and the music is soothing. Carol knows how to create a sanctuary with every class and a sense of peace that you can carry into the world outside.

Harmony Yoga Studio provides an intimate and beautiful community. Carol is the only teacher so every class is unique. As her daughter, she introduced me to yoga in my early teens and though it took me years to appreciate the practice, but now I am forever grateful. If I was still living in Stamford, you would absolutely see me in her classes!!

I have used Carol and Harmony yoga since I moved East five years ago. After trying out a few other studios only to find gentle classes that were abusive, instructors that morphed my body into an abused pretzel and one class that was downright competitive in nature, I discovered Carol. She has a background in occupational therapy and many years' experience teaching yoga in a thoughtful way. If you're injured or new, she will customize the positions to suit your needs. If you're looking for more physical yoga, she kicks it up a notch or two and has you sweating. All classes end with a lovely shevasana where Carol reads inspirational poetry and uses aromatherapy to leave you in a state of pure bliss. You depart with a stronger, more fluid body and a peaceful, accepting frame of mind.

Carol is a kind and talented yoga teacher. She is inspired by life. Her unique experience as an Occupational Therapist and Kripalu Yoga Instructor have given her a strong knowledge base to assist and support individuals exactly where they are. Carol provides encouragement and connects with people! She offers strategies which help me find more flexibility in my body. Carol's classes are fun with great music. I always leave feeling resilient, like I've given attention to my body and spirit and that I'm ready to enjoy my day! And besides, she is my sister so we've known each other a long time!!
