Breathing Room was one of the first yoga spots that I tried when I moved to New Haven from Philadelphia. I was a little overwhelmed, as I was more used to much smaller yoga studios, but this has quickly become my yoga home.
The space is absolutely beautiful, and I really love the variety of classes and times. I feel like there is always something different to try. The teachers are always compassionate, and the staff at the front desk is friendly. The teachers always teach to what my spirit, body and mind need most at the time, while still holding space for everyone.
I always look forward to learning more about myself and my yoga practice through their classes and workshops. I highly recommend The Breathing Room to yogis of all levels.
My favorite studio...ever !! Atmosphere is amazing, teachers are exceptional. The Sunday candlelight class is my favorite.
Beautiful and welcoming environment! Such a great place to unwind and really get into class.

This place is TOO nice. Gorgeous space but the atmosphere seems to fall on the fancy / slightly overproduced end of yoga spots, to me anyway. And I find myself wanting for the more ego-destroying 90 min hot yoga classes, such as those offered at True Bikram on Orange st.
Oh how I loved this place. It was my sanctuary for like four months while I was breezing through New Haven. Margot's a lion, Tobey's a dolphin, Rebecca's the sky, and VR is a Native-Native American.
Love it here. Great energy. The staff is friendly. Located downtown New Haven, and close to mass transit.
This is a great yoga studio. I actually settled on Fresh yoga which is a block away because I really like a particular instructor there (Ed), but if you're new to New Haven you should definitely go here and to Fresh and just see which one you prefer.
This is my favorite place. I have the opportunity to come here just a few times a year, but every time I do, I have the best experience. I live in Brooklyn and travel for work, and have not found anything that comes close to Breathing Room Yoga. The space itself is welcoming and has a truly smart, lovely and open design. The community is small enough that you are not overwhelmed in a herd (like in NYC) and you get a lot of personal attention because of that. Margot's classes are challenging, stimulating, and just plain fun. Her presence is always centering and I find the greatest focus, mentally and physically, in this studio. It is very drop-in friendly with reasonable prices and no mat 'rental fee'; it has a nice website so you can buy and book ahead of time. Very thankful for this studio.

A wonderful yoga community offering an invigorating practice!

Breathing room is more than just a yoga studio. Margot has created a community. The girls at the front desk will try to know your first name as quickly as they can. The room itself is open, bright and clean. You will leave not only drenched in sweat, but in a better space mentally. Margot has beautiful insight on getting through the every day grind of life, and listening to her while you are you in your downward dog with amazing pop music in the background, is something that can't really be described in words. You're just going to have to try it for yourself, I promise, you'll be hooked.
