Great instructors in the group classes. Unfortunately the cleaning is POOR. Showers are filthy, moldy and soap containers are often empty.
The gym here is remarkable. Clean and a lot equipment.
Operationally dysfunctional. Gyms are diff to manage - high turnover, young kids, constant repairs and maintenance, etc.
Most of the staff is friendly and accommodating so that's important to point out.
Problem is, the rates go up while they shed costs daily with leaky faucets that never are repaired and are broken often.
They also don't address concerns with members who abuse equipment daily slamming nautilus machines, approaching women unsolicited constantly and being territorial with certain machines (Smith).
I've complained several times to no avail...
Weeding members out who impact your bottom line and affect the gym atmosphere deleteriously, is critical if you want to keep ur good members memberships.
Could be my new favourite gym! The outdoor workout area is Awesome; finished off with a pool to get those cool down laps in. Highly recommend. Thanks Christian for looking after me!
wow i love this place! their outdoor options are one of kind I dont know any other location with such an outdoor options

This place really needs to work on their customer service. After some confusion regarding a weekly pass or short term membership for my brother who is visiting (I was given three different answers by three different people on staff) the response of the staff was pretty ridiculous. Rather than trying to clear up the confusion, the sales guy tried to throw the girls at the front desk under the bus. He was more worried about him being right than figuring out a solution to the problem. If you have to work out here I would recommend buying your membership through Costco so that you do not need to deal with the staff.

Nicer than most 24 hr. Cleaner. Nice facilities

Very nice and friendly but very busy at times
Weights, cardio and sports training facility. Lots of stations. Open 24/7 no excuses.

This gym location off Madera is nice in terms of size and what is available, but that is it. The equipment is old and most even stink from body odar even after wiped down. The fitness classes are nice, I personally enjoy the cycle classes such as the one taught by the gentlemen on I believe Wednesday's at 5:30 PM and I believe this lady named kat, on Saturday or Sunday. The other nice class I personally think is great, is the body pump on Mondays. Overall, the front desk staff are okay, nothing to terribly special.
Summary
Pros:
Big location, lots of options, great variety, great fitness classes
Cons:
Out dated equipment, equipment smells even after cleaned, locker room bathrooms are a bit gross and not well cleaned

They have a wide selection of machines and free weights. Often have sales on nutritional supplements. Trainers are all well rounded and easy to work with.
Good gym, a little old. Still a great place to workout.

I usually go to the 24 hour on tapo street. This one has more amenities like a pool and outdoor area. But comes at a cost of being busier and (at least to me) seems like there's more people there just sitting on benches. Plus the only place I have ever found a disgusting machine whose handles were covered in what I can assume was hair gel and sweat from the previous user.
It is not a very clean place. The floors are very dirty. So always have shoes of some kind on at all times. Especially in the women's bathroom... They let homeless people come in, and go threw the trash cans. Then the homeless use the sinks in the bathroom to wash their stuff. Leaving a disgusting mess. Their was a young girl in their the other night high and drunk. Their is no manager at night... So anything goes ... I won't buy another membership to this place again.
Been going here a few years. The staff is friendly and the gym is pretty much perfect. The pool was completely redone along with the deck just last year. The steam room was fitted with a new steam maker as well. Dry sauna is great. All the machines you would expect inside, and the outside has giant wheels to flip, "battle-ropes" (my favorite actually besides the pool!), various and assorted free weights, pull up bars, along with a wide assortment of "medicine balls." There's also a wood basketball court inside, but me being about 5'8" and white, I don't get a whole lot of use out of this feature ;) Overall out of a couple dozen clubs I've been to, this one is my favorite!! My only complaint is the jacuzzi needs a deep cleaning. The tiles sealer has long worn away, and there's black junk in the grout and tile. Just needs a good pressure wash is all, other than that, the best!!
Almost perfect, just missing the towels for wiping up gym equipment but there are paper towels to wipe down benches after using them.
Small, family oriented, and teens like it- but no water no electricity
They're trying a little harder but I'm going to be honest here. I DO LIKE this gym but they're getting very expensive & I will leave if they increase dues on me more time! Simi Golds Gym is VASTLY better quality & cleanliness & everything ... but it costs more.
THE BAD:
* As ALWAYS - FLOORS of the entire Locker room and especially the Bathroom are grimy and kind of gross. I often feel ready & willing to speak to Mgt and offer my own pressure washer and clean the bathroom floors myself! Watching cleaners just squirt a cleaner on floors and wipe at it. Disgusting. It's a light gray grout - NOT blackish w/ organic matter. ALWAYS (!) wear shoes or flip flops and wash your hands (when in & leaving this locker room area especially!)
* Gym ambient temperatures are Often - OUT OF CONTROL especially in the room for classes when humidity is dripping off the mirrors, windows and onto the floor making it dangerous as people are slipping all over the place!! Just stupid. Sometimes entire gym or basketball court temps & humidity are simply CRAZY HIGH for no apparent reason and no accommodation by management!!
THE GOOD:
* Nice Basketball courts ;-)
* Some nice, new equipment does filter in
* Good they replaced amateurish maintenance repairs on cable connectors (Amazed the Mgr allows poor & hazardous repairs.)
This is a nice 24 hour fitness. If you are into crossfit and football style training, this is the place for you. they have an outdoor workout section with many TRX stations, and outdoor lap pool, and a training area unlike any I've seen at a 24 hour fitness. I've been to many of the gyms, but I like this one a lot. The only downer is that you have to bring your own towel to this one or purchase one of their small towels for $5. It's worth trying out if you are a member and live in the area.
