Well trained staff. Good place to get your sweat going. Thanks Paulina!
I have worked out here a year and it has been a series of minor disappointments which, ultimately, caused me to cancel. While it is close to my apartment, the upkeep of machines is abysmal and it is maddeningly busy. I understand that is the nature of the beast being downtown but god have mercy on you if you're in a hurry. The business may also contribute to the struggle to keep up with cleanliness across the facility. The sauna is mix-gendered which isn't really ideal. The biggest issue was the towel service getting cut. They cached it as an environmental step but the reality is they're saving serious cash and not lowering rates. My membership now offers me less for the same price.
This gym is pretty decent. My hubby and I went for a quick workout. The machine were clean. The ladies restroom was clean and that to me is a PLUS! As for the parking we park in the side street. It was not the busy. We workout in the morning.
Very accommodating gym! What more could you realistically expect? They have just about everything. Pool, spa, steam room, all the workout equipment and tons of it. This place is a fitness monstrosity.
Been a member for years. No frills gym w towel service, loads of classes, everything anyone needs in a gym. Validated parking next door. Next to the Arena too
My favorite 24 hour fitness gym in the Sacramento area. This gym is always clean and the staff is friendly. Unlike other gyms I feel more comfortable working out here because everyone is too busy working out than being creeps. I also like how they have a variety of classes!

Manager who's over 30 has the attention span of 14 yr old. He can't focus in the presence of young women. Kinda pathetic.
Ensure that equipment is accessible & available for use prior to the start of class. Having equipment locked up or searching for keys for locks during class time takes up class time at the expense of the members. Start classes later if instructors want time to search for keys or unlock equipment.

Just the equipment alone gives them five stars. I go to the 24 Hour Fitness closest to my house and I feel if you want people to come to your gym you have to invest in equipment and that's what some 24-hour fitnesses lack to do. I just love the environment too bad they are not closer to my house I will go to this 24-Hour Fitness instead.

I haven't been to a gym in some time i was excited about regaining some health benefits to say the least. I've only been here 4 times and 3 out of 4 the steam room has been out of order. But today the hot tub was below water level not cycling any water. To be frank this place is falling apart its so sad that the upkeep isn't being enforced.

I was so excited to join this gym and get my health back. I was impressed with the overall look of the gym and what it has to offer which includes a 24 hour parking garage with validation, so parking is free.
When I first took the tour, I was eager to get started. While signing up I was coerced into signing up with a personal trainer which I wasn't truly ready for yet, but I was excited about that thinking it would help me get even more motivated. My experience however was less than desirable to say the least and I personally did not feel encouraged to keep using a trainer. I've had trainers in the past who kicked my ass into amazing shape without being rude while training.
The cardio machines are very dirty and they run out of paper towels and spray for cleaning. Ridiculous for the size of that gym! Most members don't even bother to clean their machine after.
The staff can be very curt with the exception of a couple of them. Also if you have a child, don't plan on the childcare being available all the time as they only have a max amount of children they can take at a time let alone charge you $5 each time, so you can just tack that on to your membership fees. There is also a smell of urine near the stairs that lead up to the cardio! Nasty! Another reviewer wrote that there is also a smell of BBQ in the cardio area which I can confirm is true and is gross while working out!
The straw that broke the camels back: The other day while sitting in the sauna, I met a member in there who told me that the homeless have access to the pool area and they go in the pool and hot tub! That made me feel sick. He told me security tries to stop them, but they still get in.
With that being said, I sucked up the cancellation fee and I joined a gym more local to my neighborhood and I am THRILLED!! It may not be as fancy, but it's clean and has all the equipment I need to get back on the road to health and has very friendly staff! Don't be fooled by the "looks" and offerings of this gym. It's not all that it's cracked up to be. 1 star is being generous.

Can be very crowded. Sometimes have to waiy for machines. Open 24 hours. Multiple squat racks+++. Gym can be hard to keep clean with all the traffic. Staff are exceptional.
This is a 24 Hour Fitness Super Sport gym. One of two in the region the other being in Folsom. This one in Downtown Commons is a two-level two-story facility. Ample parking in the parking garage underneath the gym. There is a 3 hour minimum with validated parking. This gym is very clean well maintained and organized. There are many personal trainers and front counter staff to assist you. Lots of space for training and working out on various machines and equipment. I always train at this gym when I am in the downtown area.

I am very disappointed with their service. I signed up for a 3 day free trial for the gym but the salesperson insisted I still had to put a $10 down deposit even though it was a free trial. When I look confused, the manager intervened, gave me his card, and said I should email him if I decide to cancel the free trial to get my deposit back. Three days later, I do just that. The first person that called was confused as to why I paid a deposit (as was I). The second person that I got transferred to told me I had to call during 9-5 hours because a manager wouldn't be on site after those hours, even though the first day I visited was at 9pm. They coerced me into paying a month's membership when I just wanted to try the gym for a month.
Classes and instructors are awesome! High energy, solidarity, and a great workout. Hannah at the front desk goes above and beyond!
Over the phone I spoke with Jordan B who explained that all I needed to do was bring my drivers license and letter addressed to me for a free trial membership. When I asked if I could bring my 14 year old daughter for a trial, he said yes and explained she'd need her school ID, letter addressed to her and her passport. When we got to 24 Hour Fitness Jordan never asked to see any documents he told us to bring and explained there are no trial memberships available and that 14 year olds can't even work out at the gym. But even that rule changed when he started quoting prices for memberships. Suddenly my daughter could be added on to my membership for an additional $49.99 per month and would she also like a personal trainer for an additional sum of money. It seems the only rule at 24 Hour Fitness is, fleece everyone who walks thru the door.
More and more machines are breaking down and not getting fixed. Some have been down for almost 3 months and not getting fixed. The management told me " they make there own bolts and it's gonna take a while." These bolts can be bought on the manufacturers website. It's almost like they just wanna save money instead of giving us good service.
Best gym in Sac! Cool staff as well.
I have no idea how this gym has 3.7 rating I've been lifting forever and this location is the best 24 hour fitness I've ever been to.
One annoyance is on the flat benches there are constantly fans blowing. But that's not terrible enough lose a star.
Occasionally the random homeless person will be running around naked in the locker room or trying to sleep on the floor randomly somewhere. Aside from that the gym is pretty lit.
I just saw a comment about parking there is a machine inside on the front desk that validates your parking card so you don't pay for parking up to 3 hours.
The more you know....

Been to this gym once. Not a big fan only because it seems so crowded. It probably isn't but because they split the cardio machines from the muscle and strength training machines t doesn't seem like there's a lot of room. I say this because I usually go to downtown golds and because it's all on one level it just seems bigger and less crowded. The gym is nice though. Doesn't have a sauna room like downtown.

Staff is very competent. While pushing myself to the limit, I ended up fainting near a 24 Hour Fitness Personal Trainer. She immediately rushed over and brought me back to life. Thank you!
Love all the free Group X classes. Some really awesome instructors!
Nice gym. Not to crowded during the time I went. Locker rooms and restrooms could be cleaner.
I'm sure my experience would have been great if I had been able to get inside of this gym. Unfortunately the parking situation is so ridiculous I decided that I would go to a different location. The only parking options are pay to park. They are already making a shitload of money off of me every month with my membership why do they need to make more by making me park in a pay to park garage. Until something about the parking situation is done or auxiliary parking is open to people who don't necessarily mind walking but don't want to pay I'll just be going to other locations. This review does not reflect the workmanship of any employees at the downtown location. I'm sure they are all doing a fantastic job. Most of them should get raises
Great gym right by the Golden 1 Center. Not Lifetime Fitness but you do get towels and good basketball games.
It is ridiculous that 24 hour fitness charges an upgraded fee for this inferior club site. I pay a monthly premium that totals more than my annual "all club" membership dues. I do this just because it is close by. They have many "regular" clubs with a better variety of equipment, with more machines so you don't have to wait. When they first "upgraded" this club the staff waa very rude to me. They have machines that stay broken for weeks. It is a joke that they charge me a premium for an inferior location. But I am stuck because of the convenience of the location.
DON'T JOIN THIS LOCATION IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO ANOTHER 24 Hour Fitness LOCATION!!!!
Pretty good location. Everything is kept clean. Equipment all works. Lots of classes to choose from. Absolutely cannot come during high times if you actually want to get a work out in
I like the gym on Fulton a lot better but this one does the job .TIA was really nice and friendly ,she gave me a tour and showed me the prices so that really helped and she answered all my questions .
Fantastic yoga classes led by
Lisa and incredible weights available , swimming pool and more.
I have belonged to the 24-hr family since it was called Family Fitness & Raquet club in 1986 but I left there back in 2013. I was paying $34/mo and had access to all clubs till they started remodeling each club and telling me I couldn't work out there unless I paid $45/mo so I quit the gym and found a better gym for $10/mo. I recently came back to they gym on a 3-day free pass just to work out with my buddy because I broke my ankle and couldn't drive. The free-pass is a total lie. The 1st time I went I was forced to give two sales leads(name and telephone no of some friends of mine)or had to pay $25 1 time work out fee. The next day I was told If I didn't plan on joining, which I didn't, that this was my last free workout or $25 to pay one time the next work-out. The people I encountered both working here and working out here have an unbelievable amount of superior attitude. I've worked out at much better facilities. This isn't West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, or Pacific Palisades. It's Sacramento for goodness sake. Very bad experience. Will never bother with this place ever again.
The General manager EJ is incompetent. The staff are lazy. Facility is disgusting. I was a member for years. Moved to sac for work and cancelled my membership same week. They don't even have filtered water.
