I dont hate that place the one on university is the one that beat me out of $700. Dollars and that was not right Dominique told me and my grandchildren a big fat lie he did not stand up to his word.
The spin class is quadruple the size in Streamwood, Il where I didn't feel like each bike was assigned to the regulars. The music is good to keep you moving.
Great amenities. Always have a vacant equipment to use because they have alot of them.
Good clean gym. Good HOT water in the showers. However the technology/TV's on the machines is TERRIBLE! Only 6 TV stations... if the TV comes on after you spent time cleaning up the machine.
New to the neighborhood thought I would check out the local gym/fitness place....
Was inquiring about membership pricing. Was told for $39.00 I could join (to try) for One Month. After sitting, giving personal Information, and a given a Member key fob, I was asked for over $80.00. I said 'What happened to $39.00', the clerk says, "Well, you can always cancel after one month and get the remaining money back."...
Why do companies feel they must LIE to get our hard earned money? What happened to a company having Honest business relations? This is a horrible way to treat WILLING participants who may have become a LIFELONG member.
I would highly recommend exploring alternative options to a gym membership.
Don't waste your time, unless you have the funds to throw away!!
The hot tub seems to be broken A LOT!! Very frustrating having to go to another location.
La Fitness over all is good. This location is lacking in some areas. The paper towel dispensers are always empty, you can usually find at least one in a low traffic area that has some though. The equipment isn't maintained very well. Like there are breaks and cracks in the plastic on the cables on the cable machine. The single hand grips for the cable machines, most of them the rubber is coming off. There are mismatched dumbbells. I guess dumbbells were stolen and they replaced them with a different brand which is a different size. Which is ok, but it just looks crappie considering how much we pay a month to be a member. People leave weights all over the place, and don't re-rack their weights. Seems like the cardio equipment never gets cleaned. There rest rooms are usually ok, I wouldn't call them clean. A lot of the time the soap dispensers need soap. Most of the staff are friendly, but friends of mine have had issues with the staff. I've had trouble with one person in the past who no longer works there.
Even with all of this stuff wrong this is still a decent gym. The other two locations are better than this one, hands down. I'd still prefer to go here than to go to 10 Fitness, or Planet Fitness.

Clean not too crowded free classes and a lot of variety with the workout equipment
The best! They have everything here. Pool, sauna, hot tub, ball court, all machines, free classes, and I love the soundproof work out room! Mirrors all around, punching bags, and if it's empty you can plug in your own music to work out or dance to.
It's worth the price for sure!

Okay gym but if you swim avoid this pool. They only maintain the pool every other day, which means the chemicals are always off.
Clean equipment and helpful, friendly staff. Get your workout on.
Pros: Nice location, clean building, primarily friendly staff, whirlpool, lap pool, and sauna, good variety of equipment.
Cons: They do not appear to clean the equipment regularly, as there is some creepy substance along the sides of all the treadmills. Once you've already joined, it's difficult to add new friends or family members, at advertised rates for adding them, without being given the run-around which ultimately means paying a lot more than you would have expected, if you were to fall for it. They don't negotiate, and only appear to be concerned about the "corporate" bottom line.
Staff is a the worst. Too overpriced. Packed. Bathrooms are always nasty. Only way to quit their membership is to go in and they give you a piece of paper that you have to physically mail to their corporate office. I've been to several in my lifetime and this one may very well be the worst.
This are gave me a very bad impression. I think the guy I talked to is the manager (I don't know the name, he is a black guy). This guy, I got a 3-day-pass and try to workout there. But when I showed the pass to him, he said the pass is for waive the initiation fee, not for me to work out here if I do not decide to join the membership. He destroy my pass while he was talking to me, and this seemed very disrespectful to me. There is no such policy shows on the pass. The reason I do not want to join the membership because their hours is very short. Sometimes it does not meet my schedule. This guy does not care about this and tried to persuade me to buy the membership. Very very hard sell! I told him the time does not work to me and this membership does not make me any sense, buy he still tried to let me in and get my money. In other words, their purposes are trying to take advantage from customers, and never consider customers' real demand. Disgusted!!! They did not even allow you to try and only want you to join the membership immediately. They give people free 3-day pass, but never let them work out there for even just 1 day. This is no-credit behavior.

Worst experience. Was a member for 3 years. Management and especially the personal training staff then decided they didn't want my business anymore. My whole team and I were treated terribly and then called and harassed multiple times. The problem was "solved" then called and told, our memberships would be revoked. Withdrew all of our memberships from this gym. Wouldn't recommend because of the management and staffing.
I am not one to go through the trouble of making a public complaint like this, however this situation is so dishonest and low it infuriates me. People should be ware. This facility continued billing me months after my three month contract had ended and refused to reimburse for the over charge. I originally signed up with the "manager" Anthony. The first time I caught it he told me he would "take care of it" and then when it continued the story changed to "there's nothing we can do", and I was given a corporate number. I now have the annoying task of having to go to the bank and change my accounts, or start the legal process. Absolutely ridiculous and terrible business. I should have known better since this is not the first timeIv heard of LA fitness doing this. I will never again sign up with them . My husband and I are in the health and fitness business/world (him being a professional athlete and gym owner) and we will tell everyone we know about our experience. Taking advantage of customers is wrong.
I was under a family account with my sister for a while at this location. She got pregnant and we stopped going for 9 months. They switched her account off of family and to just her. Well, I went in after the 9 months and I had explained to them I used her account to go in, prior. The manager (I think his name is Anthony) looked at me and said, "well if you have been using her account then I'm going to cancel her account!" Like a tyrant he threatened to kick her account just because she isn't allowed to give her card to others. With no explanation as to why! It was a misunderstanding that he handled poorly. Instead of explaining to me why I couldn't use her card he went straight for a cancellation. This location has very poor management. No manager should abuse the revoke powers and treat others the way this manager has.

So much for so little. Only $30 per month is nothing else for the value you receive. Location is super clean and nice as can be.
