So much to offer here, from the gym to the lazy river and swimming pool. I came for a birthday party, which I didn't know you could do. Such a cool idea. We were able to swim in January:)

Facility would be great, but they saturate it with "fake music": 20 seconds of audio content looped for three minutes with a vocalist whining about nothing; noise pollution people are taught to call "pop music" and which this company calls "UAB Rec Radio".
I haven't been inside this Gym but it looks good
Very nice recreation center. The staff here is very nice. Usually has not been very crowded when I have been by for a visit. There is a pool, racket ball courts, hand ball courts, 4 full size basketball courts and so much more including of course a full service workout facility.
What a pretty gym I never go to, highly recommend the whirlpool
The equipment is pretty standard for a college gym. There's a pool and plenty of things to do! I'm especially eating it so high because there are always events to sign up for here, most of which are free.

Great facility for all sorts of sports and activities. Nearly have anything your heart desires for a gym! Group classes are awesome with a good variety of options and the instructors are great and knowledgeable about their classes!

The 6:30 AM class is always feels very rewarding. All of the trainers are encouraging and motivational

This place is DISGUSTING!!! They have the worst sanitary conditions of any gym that I have been in. The front desk people are rude and not helpful in the least. The employees who work there do not enforce any of the rules, the personal trainers are an absolute joke, and the fitness class teachers don't know what they are doing.

I love the facility, but this place is PACKED. I generally go in the mornings around 5:30 am, and it is less crowded, but surprisingly it can be crowded this early. Love the classes, the equipment, and the staff, but be prepared for the crowd!

I love the Campus Rec Center! Lots of equipment, you never have to wait for a machine. They also offer top-notch classes, most of which are covered by your very affordable monthly membership fee. Lots of bicycle parking, and they accommodate car parking in the lot across the street by validating your ticket during busy hours and when you'd otherwise have to pay for street parking. Staff is always friendly and helpful and efficient when it gets crowded. A great overall community gathering place for staying fit and having fun!

Also UAB student have to pay for a regular sized locker which is unfair, considering all the money that we dish out for books, parking, etc.

The UAB Campus Rec Center is one of the best Rec centers I have been to. The Rec is located at the heart of the campus and easy to access. Plenty of parking around the perimeter. As you walk in the doors you notice a clean and organized environment. I have been to Rec center at various times morning and night and have always been able to find a place to run and use the equipment I desire, no waiting times. Also, they're are a variety of classes and training sessions provided. In addition, in comparison to other gyms in the area, they have cleaning solution conveniently located close to most machine to clean up after a hard workout. Also, the locker rooms are clean and have plenty of lockers available for use. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. Overall, compared to other campus Rec centers, this one is far superior in the fact that it is extremely clean, organized, variety of equipment, and not crowded.
