This is not your average everyday gym. This place is amazing! All of the best equipment and just about anything you could want if you lift. Strongman, power lifting, bodybuilding, any high level or beginner athlete can be successful here. Top notch staff and beautiful facility.
I've been with Twisted Fitness for 4 years, and it's been a tremendously good impact on my life. The coaches are great, the students are great, the facility is great. Whether you're interested in competition, or just fun, this is an excellent place to train.
I have never seen such a beautiful gym. It has every piece of equipment you need to do; from running, strength training, bodybuilding or just looking to get fit for the summer or year-round! Combine that with outstanding instructors and you have the best gym in the Madison area.
The Twisted Fitness gym is by far the most exciting and unique gym I have been to. All the equipment is brand new and top of the line. There is a ton of room to use squat racks and platforms. They also have nice turf for sled pushing and yokes!
Twisted Fitness went above and beyond in creating their new gym space. I literally feel like a kid in a candy shop every time I walk through the doors. The equipment is legit and fits the needs of any lifter, brand new or seasoned. Plus the community and atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. If you've been looking for new place, I would highly recommend checking Twisted Fitness out!
The minute I walked in I was greated with respect. Starting Jiu-Jitsu is intimidating, but I was welcomed and the uncomfortability faded.

Amazing martial arts taught here! Knowledgeable instructors and a great training environment. Come check the place out!

I have been training at Twisted Fitness for 6 years. In that time I have traveled for work and had the opportunity to check out a bunch of other gyms around the country. Twisted Fitness is hands down the best gym I have experienced. I am happy to be a part of this gym. My oldest child is in their kids program and I am looking forward to my youngest joining their kids program soon. This is a very technical school with a great vibe. I strongly recomend Twisted Fitness Gym to anyone!

Before I moved to Madison, I had trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for six years at three different academies in the Chicago area. The first thing I did when I decided to move to Madison was write a list of academies I wanted to try. There were several on the list and I visited Twisted Fitness first. After my first visit to Twisted Fitness, two years ago, I threw out the rest of my list. I instantly knew Twisted Fitness would be my new home and my training partners would become my new family.
Mark and Sonya, owners and instructors, have dedicated themselves to their students and to jiu jitsu. Their passion for jiu jitsu and commitment to their students is overwhelming and they demonstrate it on the mat every night. All students, regardless if they are older or younger, men or women, athletic or want to be more athletic, will find a place (a home, rather) at Twisted Fitness.
I have been doing martial arts of one kind or another for over a decade, and I could tell right away that I had found something great in Twisted Fitness. The instructors are top notch and everyone is super welcoming. This gym is all about the love of the art and not about making money. I have been training at this gym for the past 5 years and love it here. There is a real sense of community and friendship that helps keep you motivated.
Whether you want to compete or just stay fit, you will find classes here for you. I mainly attend the yoga, jiu jitsu and judo classes (because there are only so many hours in a day), but they are all taught by great instructors. As a woman it can be hard to find a martial arts school that you feel comfortable with, but this gym has quite a few women teachers and students. Plus, they have an expanding youth program for kids to learn self-defense techniques.
I highly recommend you check out some of Twisted Fitness' classes - I am sure they have something that you will love. I really can't say enough about this gym - get out there and try it out!
Solid BJJ program, with an emphasis on competition, but no pressure to compete. Self-defense taught as well. Haven't tried the Muay Thai classes, but used to box with a couple guys downstairs in Ford's Gym who came from that program, and they knew how to train and fight. Intense general fitness classes (boot camp, crunch-time). Take-down classes as well, incorporating judo and wrestling techniques. Both morning and evening classes offered. The proximity to Ford's Gym is convenient (they share a building), if you're looking to do more than just martial arts. A unique corner of the town like no other. Great place to train. Highly recommended.
I have been training jiu jitsu at Twisted Fitness for several years now. In my travels I have also trained at numerous other highly rated jiu jitsu academies and they don't seem to compare to the quality of Twisted Fitness. Mark and Sonya are extremely dedicated to teaching all of the latest techniques, while not losing sight of the fundamentals. They also bring in some of the best jiu jitsu competitors in the world to teach seminars, throughout the year. This past year alone, they offered seminars from two world champions! All of the students and instructors are very friendly and helpful. They also show a great deal of patience and are willing to work one-on-one with newcomers, to make sure they are getting the instruction they need. Whether you are a beginner or have trained for years, Twisted Fitness is a great environment to train and make new friends!
Best jiu jitsu around. Great family here. I've been to all of the classes including muay thai and yoga and they are all great. I really have no complaints. Clean, great instruction, awesome workouts. Definitely consider checking this place if you've ever considered any of these sports or are just curious.
