Gorgeous studio with just the right amount of room heat. The staff makes such an effort to keep it clean, tidy, smelling good, and full of calming energy...and remembering people's names! Some people may not like this rule, but I find it so refreshing to practice in a space where phones aren't allowed near your mat! People can meditate or prepare or speak with friends before class instead of staring at their screens. Thank you for creating an electronic-free space for a small portion of my day!

Really strict policy about not coming in late. It seems overly restrictive especially if there is room in the class. Often there classes are during high traffic times.

I generally don't associate yogis with rules, but unfortunately the rules at The Studio are stopping me from introducing my Little Sister to yoga. She is 12 years old and the most mature person I know, but because of the "strict age limit" we are unable to attend a beginner class. If I did not think she could handle this environment, I would not try and sign her up. I would rather belong to a welcoming studio that encourages individuals of all levels to participate instead of one with a strict rule book.

I just recently got a year membership at The Studio after doing a week trial. The Studio is not only the most beautiful studio in Madison, but is also equipped with a very professional and friendly staff. They are always looking out for the clients best interest and are quick to remember a familiar face. On top of this, a great workout too!

Very pretty building, mostly fantastic instructors, fair pricing for the location and what you get. I solidly recommend if you live downtown. The 6am classes are especially nice.

I had never tried yoga before but their yoga for beginners class got me hooked. The instructor was so nice and I felt like I could really work on my own flexibility and strength at my own speed. Since then I have done their gentle flow yoga classes and have loved them at both the downtown and west side locations. Would definitely recommend to anyone new to yoga!

I've been a fan of Hot Yoga for a long time. I'd heard about the Studio from friends. I took a break from Yoga after having hip replacement surgery and was irregular in my practice and needed to start back in. So, taking advantage of a special get to know you offer, (check it out on their web site, two weeks for $30.00,) I went to my first class Monday at 6:30 PM on 11/20/17. The first thing you notice when you enter the building is the shoe area, (we're so messy, lol) but the two steps up and into the greeting area are a completely different world. I was greeted by a woman carrying a MacBook Air. I told her that I had signed up online and it was my first time into the studio. A smile and a thank you for coming, she gave me a quick and efficent tour. After getting dressed I was headed up the stairs for my first class. Greeted at the top of the stairs by another smiling woman with another MacBook Air I looked around. The waiting area is a relaxed setting with low mellow lighting, couches, pillows, and a generally awesome vibe from the people waiting to go into the next class. Striking up a conversation with a young woman I misinterpreted as the next instructor she mentioned she was an assistant, and she also helped clean the rooms between classes. I watched and was amazed as the previous class let out, two women (not just one,) went to work on "flipping" the room. No detail was missed, from wiping off the lockers section where you store your valuables, to the handrails, door handles and one of the women actually cleaned the glass on the entry doors where someone had brushed a sweaty palm. They finished with a "swishing" of the floors we entered and the tone was set for a new yoga studio. Low LED lights are present around the room as you enter along with low lighting overhead. After everyone was set the class started with breathing exercises including three Ohm's included. The class reached areas and other pose's that I wasn't used to since I've been a fan of the other Hot Yoga studio in MSN. What I found was a refreshing, positive instructor. An excellent leader gently communicating what she was working with you on, she offered encouragement and poses to help the class. I'll be going back as much as I can in the next two weeks to practice with as many of the other Yogi's at the Studio. I can only anticipate the same excellent vibe and practice. This place and instructor are awesome!

I am pretty new to yoga, this is the first place I've practiced. They've been wonderful at helping me pick instructors and classes that are at my ability level. I once accidentally went to a class too advanced, after quietly excusing myself, they credited me for the class without any issue.
If you're new to Yoga check out their Gentle Flow and Yoga for Beginners. A friend of mine is far more advanced in her practice and has a couple instructors that she loves. So I believe there is a fit for all levels.
I've found I enjoy yoga so much that I've become a member here! Definitely check out their trial memberships if you have any hesitation, as the discounted monthly membership does require a contract.

The space and instructors are great. The business model isn't what I would consider community oriented. Know what your agreeing to before entering their contracts. I made incorrect assumption based on the overall vibe of the space.

I loving come to this studio!

Love this space and the community that' its building from many forms of yoga offered here.

I've never been to the downtown location, only the west side, but there is no Google Business location to write a review for - so here it is! I started yoga because a Groupon was available for Studio West, and I think Studio instructors are probably really ideal for beginner yogis. They are patient and attentive with those of us who have no idea what the 5 names for a single pose are. I have heard from other, more advanced, yogis in the area that have said there are specific instructors they see for advanced classes because most of the instructors are fairly new to both yoga and instruction.

Classes at Studio West are small because the rooms are small. I haven't been to a class with more than 10 people, and that seems to be a great reason to check out west.
