Great gym, great people! I am not super particular about my gym space so much as the people who work there. Midvale Anytime Fitness has some awesome employees. Mikey, Ashley, Rachel, Jordan and everyone else I have worked with or seen working are caring, funny, and extremely helpful. I would recommend this gym if you not only like to have a place to workout but also a great environment to workout in! Thank you guys for kickin my butt into shape!

Nice staff. When staffed. I would use their gyms. Also kinda inexpensive when you measure cost ratio.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! I love the large purple artificial turf area! Almost more than I love the staff, ALMOST. =] Great central location for when I am running shopping errands at Macy's in Hilldale (which is often). I make a point to pop into this club even though I live on the east side.

The staff in this facility is amazing! They are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. The recent renovation has offered up more space for activities and has resparked the new feel of the club! I am very glad I have the opportunity to workout in a facility like this-keep up the great work Any Time Fitness!!!

Such an awesome place! The trainers are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The boot camps and individual classes are fun and can be tailored to any fitness level. I love that they have free weights (including many power racks) too.

I have nothing but good things to say about the trainers and staff at this location. They've worked with me through injuries and are always willing to modify things to whatever your current ability level is. Its always easier to enjoy a workout when you look forward to seeing your trainers!
There are individual showers instead of a locker room, and while it can be a bit of a wait during peak hours, the privacy is awesome. The times I've found the bathroom not spotless are rare, and usually on a weekend when the gym isn't staffed.
Yeah, contracts are a pain no matter what gym you go to, but if you're willing to put in the work the unlimited training package is an absolute steal. If you have concerns just ask the staff and they will answer clearly, they want you to have a good experience. Every person on staff at Midvale genuinely cares about the members, whether they just stop in to work out on their own or are a training regular. I honestly think that joining this gym is one of the best investments I've ever made.

I joined this gym before it even opened because it's close to my house, but I've stayed because it offers a great community and constant opportunities to improve health and fitness. The staff know what they are doing to help you maximize workouts and avoid injury. They also have lots of modification ideas if you have an injury or chronic issue. It's also a very welcoming environment for all ages and fitness levels.

This gym is my happy place! The facility is continually upgraded with improvements to the space and equipment. The staff is professional, knowledgeable and helpful. The Team Training classes continue to motivate and challenge me. With the support of the caring staff I am able to push myself in ways that I never thought I could. I am so very thankful for them and for this gym.

Love this location and the staff are very helpful. You can tell that they genuinely care about their clients and the goals that they want to reach. They also keep the facility clean and the upgrades help add variety into your work outs. I'd highly recommend going here if you're serious about fitness and seeing improvements to your physique.

I absolutely love this gym. The coaches are so helpful and knowledgable. They really care about your health and about you as a person. I have a ton of physical problems and they took the time to go over everything and follow my spine doctors restrictions. We set a regimen for me that would not hurt previous injuries. Ashley and Brad are so friendly as is the rest of the staff. They are willing to help even when you are not signed up for personal training. I love this gym (midvale) and all of the staff.

I haven't had problems with this anytime Fitness although I tend to stick to myself or with my boyfriend. The new renovation is okay but it's looking more and more like another popular fitness center but for 4x more money. I liked the closed off space with mirrors. It helps me since I'm a dancer and liked to practice in there at times. It's gone now so I may start going to the gammon road location because of this. I love the sunlight while walking on the treadmills and the individual shower and changing rooms are very nice for an introvert like myself! Overall I like this location but the change in space might make me switch locations.

Tried the two week trial and enjoyed this location but had to leave the state for work. Canceled within the initial two weeks and was told I didn't owe any money. Asked if they shredded the credit card information I had given them. Was told they definitely shredded all old info. Woke up today to discover I have been charged $149!!! Maybe it's an oversight, but I feel lied to. Will update review as the situation gets resolved, but people need to know you might get charged when they say you won't!
Update: Star rating changed - called and spoke with Ryan, who was very helpful and tracked down my cancellation form. He promised to call the company in charge of their payments and get things sorted out - apparently the gym received my cancellation but the payment company didn't. Will let you all know when I get my money back.
Everything else about this gym was great - clean, convenient, friendly staff.

I have been actively lifting weights for over 20 years and have been a member of this AF since it opened. At first, it offered the basic, no frills amenities I was looking for at a reasonable price. Over the years they have done several remodels and upgrades that in my opinion has made it less suitable for my needs. The first remodel greatly condensed the changing area where if more than three people are trying to tie their shoes it is crowded. They added on demand video exercise that was largely unused by anybody. The addition of trainers and group exercise also began to eat up more floor space. The latest remodel has killed this place for me. They claim to have added more floor space for the free weights, however, it is poorly organized and an inefficient use of space. They added poor quality lifting areas that are dangerous to use, and removed useful equipment. There's also been a high turn over in staff the over the last year. For the "Dodgeball" fans out there, this place has gone from a great Average Joe's to conglomerate Globo Gym. I'm very much looking forward to my contract expiring and leaving this place. And pay attention to the other negative reviews by others regarding contract cancellation and billing errors-- they're correct!

This location is quite clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. A recent renovation increased the floor mat space but decreased the space available for weight training equipment, leading to some machines such as a full sized cable machine being removed. This could be a plus or a minus depending on what you want to focus on, but as it stands the space devoted to lifting is more limited.

I had my "fitness assessment" with a trainer at this location. After telling me about his "tough love" attitude toward training and asking whether my father's illness would get in the way of my fitness goals (I wish I was kidding), he then tried to corner me into purchasing personal training package (at minimum $240/mo extra).
I understand that trainers get paid when they have clients. That's ok, I get it. But I stated many times that I would need to speak with my husband about the money because we are on a very tight budget. His response was that I sign up now and talk to my husband later about it because I could cancel if it turned out to be a big deal. That is sneaky and underhanded, not to mention unethical.
I don't feel comfortable going to this location anymore. I've sort of gone to another location, I have a few more months on my membership and I already have my cancellation notice ready.
As for the gym itself. It's okay. It's nice to have access to free weights, but I often have to go late at night for space to use them.

Lost my copy of the membership contract and I called for clarification. I never got a call back and I continued to get billed after my contract had ended. I feel cheated thinking I could cancel anytime, but i could never afford the $200 cancellation fee. They are way more worried about shoveling in money than they are about customer service . Disgraceful .

Member for 6 years (since it opened) never pressured to buy anything, always clean, very reliable equipment, often upgraded! Literally couldn't be happier about this business.

I never ever write reviews for anything but after I saw the other review I had to say something! I don't know what the other person was talking about - this gym is fantastic. Yes, it is small, and the machines are kind of close together, but that is my only complaint, and it's usually not an issue because it never gets that busy.
The trainers and employees are amazing, everyone that works there is extremely friendly. The pricing doesn't seem random at ALL - they show you the binder with their pricing structure in it.
I definitely recommend this gym. I always see neighbors and friends there. The staff always says hi, and they are supportive and encouraging. It's a great place to work out!
