My elderly parents have been coming here for many years and it's a big part of their ability to continue living on their own. It's very age inclusive, as they have a regular group of friends to share coffee and conversation with as well as getting in some much needed physical activity. It's great for more active, younger folks too, with a large staff of personal trainers, group classes, swimming and racquetball.
I have a couple of issues with them though. With the large number of seniors who regularly use the facility, their accessibility is lacking. The handicap parking is on a fairly steep slope, making it hard to get in and out of the car. There is a ramp to the door of the building, but no automatic door. They don't always take the best care of the ice in winter either. Making improvements would make a big difference to keep folks like my parents safe.
Another thing I'd like to see changed is replacing the Styrofoam cups and plastic lids in their coffee service with compostable eco-friendly alternatives. There's a growing movement to eliminate single use plastics and it would be great to see them jumping on board.
