Don't even try to get a membership there. Had a scary experience when I was trying to cancel the membership due to their hot tub was closing often. They said OK to cancel at first so I canceled , but then they kept taking my money next 3 months! I called them again and asked why they took money, and they said I have to send a canceling letter to head quarter. So I mailed the cancellation letter and also asked for refund but they've never refund it. Then I have received continuing phone calls from them that they're complaining about my credit card doesn't accept for transaction. Of course can't make a transaction because I cancelled my credit card! I felt like they're a fraud team or something. My 3 months membership fee which they took from me, was never refunded. Horrible gym.

I called the Tacoma LA Fitness to cancel my membership, and was told that I either needed to visit their physical location during the highly restrictive hours of Monday-Friday, 9-5, or visit their website to print out a cancellation form and mail it in. Given that I don't use their gym during these business hours and can only attend after work, this seems like an unreasonable restriction. I then visited their website, and the 'cancellation page' said the following: "You are not able to access your membership information. Please contact your local club immediately." This means I am unable to cancel my account unless I miss work to go to the physical location. This is completely unreasonable!

This is a great place, love it. Have gone there for a couple of years. However, recently the housekeeping has gotten a little sloppy.

I was reluctant to show up for the free workout with a trainer after I got my membership here, but ended up being glad I went! Josh W was great. He was clearly very knowledgeable and fun to work with!

Josh & the crew at LA Fitness knock it out of the park. I've been a premium member for 6 months, and they have delivered in every way. The trainers are amazing, I've seen Real Results, in the scheduling app for personal trainer appointments is flawless. I really love the 6th Avenue facility. I'm always excited to meet with my personal trainers, including Alena and Quantez. In fact, I'm looking forward to seeing them tomorrow again.

LA Fitness continued to charge me for 5 months after I officially cancelled my membership stating they had "no record" of my cancellation, despite the fact that I talked to a person at the counter, printed and mailed the cancellation form (and provided date of mailing), and then called to confirm cancellation 2 months after the actual cancellation because I was still being charged.... When I called 3 months later to re-explain that I was still being erroneously charged, they only refunded part of the erroneous charges and acted as if they were doing me a huge favor for refunding any of the money that they never should have charged me in the first place. I don't have any control over the kinds of records that LA Fitness keeps, and despite my email confirmations of the cancellation form being printed and mailed, they refused to give me the full refund. It's not a favor to partially refund services that were explicitly refused--at best it's poor customer service, but really they just took a bunch of money from me without permission and tried to manipulate me into thinking I owed it to them.

It's not a "signature" club, but is actually one of the locations that has a full complement of equipment. Some equipment needs servicing though.

Just like all LA Fitness locations, parking is available in it's own lot.

This is my backup when the weather is too rough to hike. It always smells bad, air seems too hot and the equipment isn't cleaned thoroughly. Friendly staff, I let them know a machine was filthy, and them seemed concerned and made note to clean it. Still... Would rather hike than go to the gym. :/

I wish they had one more power rack, but other than that, this gym is a really good value, especially if you utilize the onsite childcare. I appreciate the dry sauna, too. I don't bother with the hot tub, there are always too many old men in it.

Very busy location so not really my thing. The kids klub was okay, really big with lots of toys but I just can't feel comfortable with like 1 person for every ten kids. The pool and hot tub were great though and the staff weren't rude they were just okay.

The worst place have ever been!!!They are very rude,discourtous and impolite.Their only interess is just to sign the contract,and if you dont sign at the moment or you need time to think they become very arogant,pretentious and just because of that ill rather choose another jym just because they are not polite and dont do their job properely...thus,they can not attract customers because they are not tolerant ...if they have only the interes to sign the contract,they should show that they care abour person comfort and let the person decide,to make him want to come back...3 time was there,and every time they made me feel like im waisting there time....if you want to go there,be sure that you will sign the contract in few minutes unless they will take off their mask and show their really face...there are a lot of better gyms in the area ,where they give you time to take the right decision for you....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the hours here compared to the Y, gives people who work a lot much more flexibility, all the equipment is great and locker rooms and bathrooms are always clean, staff has always been nice

Do NOT sign up for the personal training program with this LA Fitness Club. They claim to "track" your performance, they do not. They will claim to give you free training sessions, they do not. I am going to lose $400 worth of training session because my trainer quit and they do not have a replacement. Your sessions (even though paid for) expire 30 days from the date you terminate your personal training program. Tony is a joke and tells lies to get you to sign up. I have had 6 different trainers in the past 6 months due to turnover and poor management.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. It's obvious no one here knows what customer service is or have ever worked a customer service job before. That would only be just a slight annoyance if the staff wasn't incompetent at literally every step of every process including personal training. It'd be 5 stars if they could fire everyone and let the computer run themselves. The sanitation wouldn't change much either unfortunately. Everytime I touch something I feel like getting a check up at the doctor.

Lol! Ive been thinking about getting back in a gym and reading the reviews for this one thinking they have changed, it's obvious they Have Not changed in years. I will never go to this place ever again after going into the "trainers only section" and being told I was not allowed in there unless I was a trainer... what a joke!

Awful. The staff sits around on their phones up front. They dont educate or encourage members to re-rack weights, not park at exercise stations, or wipe down sweaty equipment. I spent 3 months trying to cancel my membership, each time being ASSURED that my account would not be charged, only to receive yet another membership fee the following month. I finally had to call their corporate office. I will not return.

I have been a member of LA Fitness for a few years now. I made a New Years resolution to get back into shape that I haven't seen in years in my own life. Having read a few reviews recently I felt it time to give a fantastic one. It is due to the great staff at the Highland Hill branch. I have always been treated with the utmost respect, beginning with the front desk employees to the trainers. I hadn't had an assessment before so this is where my journey began in mid January. I was assessed by Tony Benson, who, from beginning to the point of connecting me with a personal trainer was gracious, respectful, kind, helpful, and "most encouraging". I needed this in particular because when you've been out of shape as long as i was, it's difficult to patiently wait while the painful beginning seems to drag on before the changes "I" needed to see begin to happen. When I first came in, I was dealing with an injury which I will say is improving amazingly - not to mention my health. I have lost weight, gotten into shape, and become so much stronger, which has aided in the continued healing of my injury. My way of eating has dramatically changed through some nutritional guidance by Mr Benson when I first began. The training staff pay attention to any issues and adjust where needed with the workouts to prevent additional injury during the healing and strengthening process. I cannot express my gratitude to each person I've had contact with. I have never experienced disrespect in any way (so don't understand when some individuals have complained regarding this issue). In my observation the staff treats everyone with the utmost respect no matter the age, whether male or female. Every penny of my hard-earned money was well worth my investment in membership dues and training. I appreciate the enthusiasm and positive energy that I have experienced while at the gym each time I come, even if I'm not having the best day it's always consistent there. I can't say "thank you" enough for this new beginning...
