Decent gym with dumbbells and free weight benches. Has 4 flat benches, 2 inclines, 1 decline, 1 seated, 2 squat racks and only 1 power rack. Locker room and bathroom are often not cleaned. However, the workout area was partially renovated about a year ago. This location also has free WiFi unlike some other branches.
It's a gym with enough machines for the time I go and the amount of people are there. I have never talked with the instructors or the staff so I can not comment on the customer service, but the bathrooms are mostly clean and the locker rooms are ok. It does have a very "locker room" smell but hey it is what it is. I enjoy the amount of free weights that it has compared to other purple Gyms I have been to. Although the purple gym is a lot more laid back and relaxed. But if you are going in to push yourself it's not a bad place to go
Went in with my wife, and I wanted to join a different gym, but the new manager really sold me on them. He is awesome and obviously is passionate about LA fitness. The facility was recently upgraded, and is very nice.

Horrible experience with cancellation policy. If you want to cancel make sure you do it ahead of time otherwise they will charge you at the beginning for first and last month and then at the end you'll pay for that last month too. If you're not able to come one more month after cancellation they will not make you a refund, and make sure if you're trying to cancel online you read carefully, don't be fooled!
This is second time when I get to cancel for different reasons and now I know for sure I'll never register again. Don't waste your money, find a better place!

Love this club and location but am frustrated how often pool is closed due Safe Splash swim lesson kids poop in pool (pool must close for 24 hours). For a club where I cannot bring my kids, it seems odd that money generating lessons close the facility I come to use.... When lessons are happening, paying members lose a swim lane to the lessons.... :-( Send Safe Splash somewhere else.

I workout here several times each week. 2 times with one of their Trainers, Maria! She has been a tremendous help to me in my recovery from Acute Myeloid Leukemia. I have been working with her for over 2 /12 years and my rapid progress continues!
Facilities are clean and well maintained. Great.place to train!

Customer service is good. Parking can be a challenge. Smaller L.A. gym but with decent amount of equipment.

For the life of me I can't figure out why the place can't be cleaned while the gym is closed. The cleaning crew is admitted upon opening so the customers are greeted with trash in the locker room and on the workout floor from the night before. Earlier weekend hours would be a real plus. Not all negative however. Nice people, good workout community.

This facility is a fabulous place to visit for health and exercise purposes.
Has great equipment for "ALL" areas of the body and is always sanitized and clean. Love working out there!!!

I tried a trial membership. They treat you all friendly like until you sign the contract. You could easily fork up to $1,000 for an entry fee. The more you pay the less you pay monthly after you sign the contract. Customer service varies from good to excellent to why do you have the job.
Machines are a bit dirty as most users do not understand proper hygiene maintenance. I literally brought a wash cloth for each machine I wanted to use to prevent sweat rashes form sweat left behind from the prior user.
Building is starting to look a bit dated and could use a little elbow cleaning. Otherwise "functional". I dare not use the showers as I'm not going to expose my self to others. I'll just be sweaty until I get home.
When you try to cancel the membership they get all snooty with you and arrogant. Apparently it's a challenge to cancel your contract even though you have the legal right to do it. I'm glad I saved my $1,000 and invested it into about three exorcise equipment pieces I will utilize frequently. Please don't utilize LA Fitness you might regret it.
Tried a trial membership. Be prepared to fork out up to $1,000 for admission. Less you pay the higher your monthly rate is. Feels like a scam. Customer service completely changes when you are locked into your contract. Friendly turns to unfriendly. Difficult if at all to term your contract without snootiness. I'm glad I invested the admission fee into a small personal gym for my self.
I love the (morning) crowd, machines are meh and weights are mediocre, but it forces me to come up with new ways to workout.

Hidden fees everywhere, the place is run by bros. Never pay the initiation fees, there are always ways around it.
The review done by "Ranee Apple and Murat Bayir" are pretty much on the button for this LA Fitness location (715 North Landing Way). The only reason I give it 2 stars instead of 1 is because of Andrew Barber (sales rep), he did a good job considering the facility. I did end up joining another LA Fitness location since it was updated but occasionally visit this one when I'm in the area for work.
LA Fitness is horrendously expensive. They con you in with over a $1,000 entry fee. Then it's only $25 a month. The machines are not all that clean and need a bit of a cleaning. The building looks some what dated and could use some updating. The customer service reps will be extremely polite with you before you sign the contract. Then it's the complete opposite. It's hit or miss customer service. A challenge to terminate your contract. I recall cleaning every piece of equipment before using it to prevent rashes. I would not recommend.

They have a terrible customer service. I went there in person on Dec 30 Saturday for cancellation of my subscription. The front desk
told me that they can not cancel my membership since they need manager to do that and postpone the cancellation. I don't know how complicated system they have that they need only manager to cancel membership. When I went there registration in the past, a non-manager member of their team completed the process. This seems a creepy way of squeezing maximum money from customers. The previous gym I worked does not have such problems, I can even cancel my membership by phone call.
Tried a trial membership until I realized how expensive it was. You'd be better off investing the money into your own personal line of exorcise equipment. The staff give excellent customer service to lure you in and after that you're stuck. After that it's horrible. I'd recommend cleaning the machine before you use it.
A lot of the equipment needs to be updated. Lots of old stair masters, chin dip assist are very old, some stuff is broken altogether. I just feel since they are in the landing they should have higher quality machines.
Plus it is much too busy at 4-7 to use anything without awkwardly waiting on other people's machines.
I like the one on petrovisky more.
The staff is very nice to me. But they close too early and they are still stuck in 1970 with all the racquetball courts. Empty wasted space. Whilr the weight room is crowded as hell. Not much gym etiquette and manners. But not as ghetto as the Kent and Southcenter gyms as far as people. But a lot of 160 lb guys walking around like NFL linemen. Strange

Staff is friendly as appropriate, no problems there. Lots of free weights, any previous male customer of planet fitness will greatly appreciate. Some have a prob with "meat heads or bimbos" however personally I find the competitive environment motivating.

Car broken into bc towel was lying over a crusty gym bag, guess they thought it was a purse? Dumbbells smell like ASS. Can be crowded, as expected, 5pm-7pm.
The neither:
Basketball courts crowded, but can always find people to play a pickup game with, AND unlike the YMCA, they won't boot you out for aerobics classes or bday parties. Price is about 30 a month, but for any guy trying to put on mass... Good luck doing that at PF for 10, I was at YMCA, went to PF (lost 20lbs of muscle in a year) joined LA and have regained and surpassed my previous body weight and max's in 5 months. Has been a good move for me...

As someone who has worked at gyms, and been a member of many, LA fitness is a great example of "get what you pay for"
This gym in particular has many flaws, including but not limited to the dirty equipment and facilities, the locker room with very outdated, not even placebo security lockers, filthy sauna and bathrooms.
In all honesty it's better than planet fitness, but not by much.
So for about $35 a month it could be worse, just don't expect world class amenities.
