So, I gave the gym two stars and here's why:
Reason 1: I came in on a Sunday to see a scantily clad woman posing next to, or on, work out machines. I get that people can pay (or know people...whatever) to get access to the gym to take photos, but not in the middle of the day while people are working out. I go to the gym to work out...not dodge around camera lights, cables, and some oily woman wearing a bikini.
Reason 2: I signed up last August (2017), and within two weeks of being a member, the 24 hours open from Monday to Thursday was done away with. Suspect, because they said it was to better accommodate clients but we really know it's because they wanted to save money on electricity.
Reason 3: (the big one), when you sign up, you get 12 guess passes annually. That is cool and was a big reason why I joined up. Last week, a buddy of mine flew in from Hawaii and was all about the gym. I called to verify I had my passes and I could bring him and it was confirmed. However, when I actually arrived, I was told they did away with the 12 guest passes last January. They said there were signs but I go 4/5 times a week: I saw no signs. When I asked for a manager, I had to basically beg for two passes so that my buddy could hit the gym with me.
I'm noticing that all the cool perks I had when I joined are slowly being taken from me and that isn't right. I understood the manager's reasons for taking away the 12 guest passes (parking and all that), but why not grandfather the rest of us? Let the people who were already loyal members keep the passes and while ensuring new clients don't get the guest passes.
All in all, I really like this gym. It's huge, well-maintained, and because it's big it has a huge variety of machines/weights to work with. However, it seems real suspect when you have all of these perks when you join but then you slowly start to lose them. I used to have a free guest on Saturday's.....I don't even know for sure if I still have it.
So, keep that in mind: great gym on the inside, but management and policies seem to change a lot.
