This studio is truly fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in starting a Pilates practice. My instructor, Jenny, is very knowledgeable, welcoming and easy to talk to. She is super gifted at explaining how to do the exercises correctly, gauging individual skill levels, and creating a program that is tailored to the student. I did Pilates videos and gym classes for years, but after just three sessions at Pilates by the Bay, I feel like I am actually beginning to understand it and really benefit from it. I look forward to class all week!
Pilates by the Bay is everything you would want in a studio and more: small class sizes, extremely knowledgable and encouraging instructors, and a fun, inclusive, and warm environment. Practicing here is the best part of my week!
I purchased an ad on Living Social from the start of making an appt I was treated as if I was less then. However, I was confused... I wasn't the one offering a "discount" or lowering myself I was the one venturing to see if a business that was so desperate to lower their prices was worth going to...especially when their location is not in the most secure location. Going to my first Living Social deal the person in charge of my session looked me up and down ...ok I'm not insecure or young so I endured. Once she got past her judgemental issues her directions were informative, however in paying for an hour of service I found her sips of tea and other minor distractions annoying. Again, I endured. My next visit was not so great...I listened to the Pilates instructor argue with someone for about 15 minutes before I decided I should leave. I don't think she knew I was present, however it was completely inappropriate. So if you want good instruction go, if you expect professionalism and nonjudgement instruction find someone else! I will not be returning. Service this expensive should be supportive, informative and worth the $! I didn't find them to be worth it!
