After being a member for a bit over a month, I felt the need to write a review to express how pleased I was with this facility.
First off, it's not the Y or One Life, so you should adjust your expectations as necessary. I often work night shift, so I needed access to a place that was always open. I chose Anytime Fitness because after a month of being a member, you are able to go to any of their locations. I was helped by Kayla, who was friendly and gave honest answers to my questions.
The exterior of the building might fool you. It looks like something from the 90's. This can't be helped. However, the interior is phenomenal. It's very open and airy, bright with high ceilings, and CLEAN. I visited the Ghent location recently, and it was nearly the opposite; the equipment was clustered close together and everything felt cramp. The lighting was dim and made the place uninviting.
They have a standard selection of cardio machines. All high-end and in great condition. Their circuit equipment is good enough, although not as comprehensive as the Y's (granted, your paying half the cost as well).
I'd also like to comment on a previous review. They stated the bathrooms were not clean. I have not encountered this issue with the Men's restroom. The shower floor seems fine, although I still would wear shower shoes if I were to use it, because why wouldn't you?
They also stated, "They require you to sign in on a sheet at the front of the gym you have to write down your NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, AGE, AND EMAIL they do not dispose of your information at all they just let it sit out front for weeks for anyone who walks into the gym to see."
To clarify, that is for GUESTS only, not paying members. It still is a legitimate concern, but members won't have their information exposed like that.
Lastly, I'd like to offer some suggestions to management if they ever read this:
- There are many treadmills and ellipticals. Perhaps remove one of these and add one more bike. There is currently only one bike and a recumbent bike.
- Add a drink machine to the sitting area. This would be very convenient for when people like me forget to bring water.
