The star is for their friendliness. The lack of the 4 other stars are for the following: Personal Training, Classes, Daycare, and Lack of Accountability.
1. My wife and I tried personal training and worked with 2 different individuals, both were Super cool, but when you pay for PT maybe we had a bad expectation of wanting someone who would push you and focus on hitting goals and improvement. It was more like having a buddy who would just walk you through a random workout or even just ask what you wanted to do when you showed up (I guess we wanted a trainer not a workout buddy).
2. Then my wife loves classes but their times just didn't work with our schedule since there weren't a ton of options so we decided to cancel and my wife decided to go back to VASA because of their larger variety of classes that she could attending throughout the week.
3. We took our kids to the day care which was a big draw for us in the 1st place. That was a mistake, the room is open to above with the rest of the gym so my children got to listen to rap and other music blaring that I wouldn't deem appropriate for children so we almost felt guilty bringing them and subjecting them to that for an hour straight, so we never used the service again.
4. When I cancelled my membership they charged me for an additional month which I get for requiring 30 days but then I had another charge the month after that so I reached out to them and they told me since I didn't email a copy of the form I signed to their customer service email so it never went through. BUT here is the problem, when I cancelled a manager was present for the 1st part and said we were all good and then took off, then a girl had us fill out the form and she specifically told us that we could take a picture for our record just in case... well since we were told to email it but it was in the fine print they refused to refund the amount even though from my one sided opinion the error lies with us being verbally misinformed by a Thryve employee and instead of them taking accountability for that here we are with a sour taste in our mouths...
Well, we gave them a shot... maybe this will save you the effort of doing the same or maybe it will help you set a realistic expectation. To top it off, the agreement I signed with them had my work paying for the last month (employer had a marketing agreement) so they double dipped on top of refusing to provide my refund...
