Two and a half months here did more good for my health than anything has in a long time. I regret not having the time to talk more to Angie about a condition that kickboxing can do so much good for, especially with the flexibility in class structure and exercise modifications easily used here, where there was a truly diverse group of students of all shapes, sizes, abilities, and experience. I signed up for a short term challenge, but I was quickly thinking of this place in terms of years. My kids were already making plans for when they would be old enough to join me.
The abrupt closing of this awesome gym (that I would recommend to anyone who'd listen to me) unfortunately coincided with some bad health news I received, the kind that really made me need to have this place even more. But I can't fault them for the secrecy. I'd noticed something off there for at least a couple of weeks (I wish I hadn't been so stressed by the tension to not actually at least try to ask about it), and even though the closing was a surprise, it was also so totally out of character that I think the reason must run deeper than any seemingly obvious answer. I think it came upon them nearly as suddenly and closing this way was something they would not have done if they'd been able to avoid it.
Don't know if Angie and Frank still watch these reviews, but if so, you're both missed. And if you ever go into such a venture again (or hey, just wanna chat about the help kickboxing can be in some areas), track me down. No other fitness place has made me so excited to get there regularly, no matter what. And it wasn't lightly that I said I need this.
