As far as what this gym provides, the equipment and weights are good. However, I haven't been to another VASA with people as lazy as the ones here. There are almost no free weights put back where they go and people just throw them wherever there is an open spot OR underneath the racks. If you appreciate weights being where they go, so you don't spend half of your time looking and sorting, there are a lot better VASA locations.
For the price of the monthly membership this is definitely a 4 star gym the equipment is usually in great working condition. The staff are friendly and helpful and many of them know me by name. This location also has a pro shop and that is very important to me. This location is my home away from home!
Pretty ghetto location compared to the other Vasa locations I have been to in the past. Have to give my keys to use a foam roller or a yoga mat. I understand having to do that for like a jump rope but for a foam roller? Ridiculous
So i got my membership online but i got charged twice on my account and never gotten a refund for an extra account i never wanted . your facility's are very nice i just dont like the fact that yall play people like that
I've been a member for 8 years back when it was gold's and I'm very impressed with the employees at this gym! I live right in the middle of 5600 gym and West valley gym and the only reason I go to West is the customer service. They remember names and treat you like you're apart of the Vasa team. I really love the Vasa remoldel and the culture behind it! Great team, great gym!
Most the staff are friendly and everyone I met is cool. Has everything you could need or want and the yoga classes are fun.

I know this is not one of the newer locations but for me this gym really does the job. It has all the machines I need. I however personally come to this location because the women at the daycare are amazing. Now I have been to many off the VASA locations and its amazing how unattentive the day care workers are with the children. At this location they are great with my kids and the children are well warched and under control. Well worth the extra drive.

As a member for 4 years, I gained a few things but overall am dissatisfied with the corporate red tape and neglect. It's a great gym for selling you cardio workouts, which you can get online for free. The Ogden location has had drinking fountains out of order for over a year. There are bicycles with squeaky and broken pedals. Several locations have not put up temporary signs on their bathrooms, which perpetuates an inhospitable, "locals only" attitude, which is not attractive to me nor my friends who attend.
Last summer, at least 3 locations had pool closures, which were not communicated to members. After calling 3 locations, I called corporate to request that they tell me which pools were open, and they said that all the pools were open.
When I first joined, I participated in training for 2 years, getting me back into shape and becoming friends with my trainer. I referred 3 friends to the gym, and when I wanted to cancel my membership, they claimed that I had to wait almost 2 months - and pay for those 2 months - for my membership to actually cancel because the contract states that I have to pay for an additional month of membership. A representative at the Sandy location suggested that I call corporate to ask that the policy waived. Corporate said that they don't do that.

Weight machines are dirty and falling apart. There are several missing pads and others that simply feel like that they will crumble if you use them.
The pool and hot tub are disgusting... Don't use them unless you like to swim in grime/pee/and balls of hair. Each and every time that I used them it was like them. EW!
Locker rooms/showers... I feel dirtier going out than going in.
Little to no air circulation.
People here just carry around gym bags on the floor (which is not allowed at every other gym that I've been too)
Overall very very disappointed and grossed out by this company.
And they don't remind you about their "Price Guarantee Fee" until after it's already taken out of your account. So if you're not prepared... be prepared for the consequences.
Online portal is useless/pointless.

On a busy Friday afternoon, I had forgotten a key piece of workout equipment. Minnie, at the front desk, was amazing and helped facilitate my workout.
I think it is vasa responsibility to maintain it well organize and complete. But i also think people have to be less freaking messy. I feel like people were stealing equipment. And also it is so unorganized I hate this place for people like these. Come on mis latinos no sean sucios.
The people that workout here have no respect. They are the reason equipment breaks and things go missing all the time. The members here are careless. The establishment itself is great. Staff always provide smiles and top notch service. It's just the area which doesn't have that good of people come in.
This is the best I go to workout whenever I am in Salt Lake which is a lot. I have a membership t 24 Hr but I still come here and pay the $15 for a day pass. Great place!!
Keep in mind that there are two West Valley locations this one however does not have a tanning bed. The other one has both a tanning bed and a sauna. This one has racquetball courts and a pool. Big and pretty vacant. I like that.
I love the energy at VASA. The staff are very helpful, the members all look like they are getting good workouts, and the facilities are clean.

It's just the area which doesn't have that good of people come in. I'm not racist, but those I'm talking about are a majority of one race, you know what I'm trying to say. It just doesn't make me proud to be of the same color.
Terrible gym with shady business practices. Watch out for hidden penalty fees and they have no problem reporting you to the collection agency. If for some reason you do decide to join this gym make sure you record everything and document everything. The staff there have no problem lying to your face. I tell everyone I know to avoid this shady gym.
Is a good gym. But in the sauna isn't there regulations. The people is too loudly. Suppose to be is a place to get relax.
Kyle is fantastic--he's a great listener, and he challenges you in all the right ways! He's also incredibly knowledgeable about anatomy and physiology, which I love because he can explain the reasoning behind different symptoms you're facing, and the moves that would be ideal to work on. Highly recommend Kyle!
Friendly staff, typically greet you upon entering. Good equipment, clean, usually not too crowded. Been to several of the Vasa locations this one is my favorite for legs as the squat machines (leg machines in general) are off to the far west side next to drinking fountain and pool. It is nice b/c they are out of the way of the other machines with little traffic.
I come through Salt Lake quite often and stay near this gym. I'm a truck driver and keep my truck fully equipped with workout equipment. In town this week but this time around I don't have access to my equipment and thought about taking jog down to the this gym. Unfortunately, after seeing all these reviews and that the owner has the answer to everything I'll go ahead and spare me the bad experience. It's tough enough to get motivated to workout. No need to be going to a gym with all these issues to add to the challenge. Fix your issues so the next time I come in I see better reviews and maybe I'll stop in. Your paying members deserve that much.
Equipment its often broken, nobody keeps the place neat and clean. Also they have the worst customer service over the phone. They have charges for everything, rate guaranteed charge $42, membership dues $9.99, membership transfer fee $25, cancellation fee if cancelled within the first 6 months ( even though they claim to not have a contract) $25. Pretty soon they might want to charge for cold water from the drinking fountains, since its always lukewarm at best. All im saying its make sure you know what you are getting into before signing with these money thirsty company.
Bathrooms are good, big, clean. Get it going. For a place with a lotta stuff, basic stuff yes but there's tons to discover and improve unless youre oddly choosing to compare it to state of the art.
I went to this specific location with my friend and the customer service was horrible. I didn't know that I had to have my ID there as a guest because I was never asked for one at the Vine Street location, so the employee at the WVC location started asking me why I didnt have my ID on me and why I didn't bring my wallet. He made me feel unwelcome and thought I was some illiterate man off the street. I didn't like his attitude so I gave him an attitude back until he told me to go on their website and request one day free pass. Not only that, but this location was horrible and the equipment was broken and torn, never going there again.
