Nothing against this gym location in particular, just more frustrated at gold's gym in general. It is not easy to cancel your membership. I canceled my membership in December, my last payment was January, so I should have been in the clear (it is February). I was charged again this month.

It was frustrating to begin with, in that you can't cancel a membership online or over the phone. Only in person. My wife and I both work during the week, and it is not simple to drive to the location in person. We found time to show up in person, and back in December got it canceled (or so I thought). Now, once again, they are unable to see why we were charged again over the phone or online. Have to come in person again
. The staff was as helpful as could be expected but the whole process is a pain.

Update: Apparently when I called customer service to inquire why i was charged again, and to confirm that my membership was indeed cancelled, the representative misunderstood and had actually re-instated my account. Never did she verify that I wanted to reinstate my account, or i would have said NO. It is now midway through March, I have been dealing with the cancellation process since December.

I loved Golds Gym's. There facilities were always decent, and I've never had any real complaints. But never again will I deal with any gym that requires contracts.

Sales rep, Nick, was very patient with my wife, kid and me. He answered all my questions and even reached out to his manager to ensure that I got all the correct information. I felt that he genuinely had my best interest in mind.

in my opinion of all gold gyms each one has it's good but for equipments and space to work on rooms this one is the best the water pool it's also big

We need a room for breastfed, the same room a day care.

Good morning., Wow now the Gym is add to my medical insures. This is great. But because my condition need to work little by little. Is fisico Therapy for me. Is work one day and relax for 4 into the pain low ja ja ja ja. In go back again. Into my pain is slow and make every day. Need to all the insures add gym too.
My child has Medicaid is not cover please add the gym. Is for healthy. Feliz navidad y prospero año nuevo 2020. DIOS TE BENDIGA.

So I went early this morning to see about joining the gym and no one was there, but the guy showed me around and told me that someone would call me.I missed the call,so I called them back and all sounded good, until I asked about my 6 month old son who is breastfed. I asked them if I take him with me and he gets hungry can I breastfeed him there and the guy informed that I could in the family restroom. I don't know about you but I don't eat my meals in the restroom, why would I make my son? Just thought moms should know

I have been a member since jan 2018. The pool is where I work out. The classes were amazing in the beginning when Haley was instructing. She understood movement in water, she expected for us to give 150 all the time because that is what she gave to us. Classes were steady and we counted on her. Well she left.... we are left with a huge void. I have tried other instructors since she left. Tonight was the worse!!!! I honestly believe that Gold's Gym could care less about those of us who use the pool to exercise in. If weight equipment or treadmills or rowing machines or the basketball court was down all those members would have a fit and it would be fixed immediately. I think the members who are the water users are looked over and not respected the same as the other members of the gym. If they were then we would have amazing instructors that showed up that understood what our needs are and we are in the water to begin with. But when you send somebody who has no idea what it's like to move in the water or to be overweight or to be elderly they're Clueless. The pool at the gym has been my Saving Grace in January could barely walk more than 10 or 15 feet. It would take me 6 or 7 attempts to get back to the pool without having to sit in my Walker or on a chair and rest. However that was 200 pounds ago now I walk without a walker without a cane and I'm definitely no longer in a wheelchair. And it's because of the exercise that I've done in that pool. But I'm very frustrated tonight because if this is what it's going to be like I'm going to end my membership and I'm sure I'm not the only one cuz I spoke with several people who are very unhappy with the class tonight. Aqua Zumba is a joke. We need to work out we need to work hard we need to sweat and we need to be pushed to our Max not cuddle like little babies. Aqua Zumba was a joke for the elderly ladies there tonight and a joke for those of us who really need to work out.

Not military friendly. Signed up for the free pass online, but they wouldn't honor it because I was honest enough to tell them I was stationed out of state but I'm actually a legal local resident of San Antonio as stated on my driver's license. They do have a great selection of dumbbells. However, some of their bench cushions need replacing. A few of the weight and cardio machines didn't work and one of the water stations was out of commission. Overall, not impressed.

The people are great and its usually pretty clean but a lot of the equipment is old or failing! Not being open 24/7 is a drawback as well. They also need more working cleaning stations.

This was my first time at this location. The class i attended "Body Flow" was wonderful, and i checked out the pool and sauna area. Can't wait to goback this weekend and swim.

Joshua H. Was great he has been super helpfull and he knew we where getting my daughter ready for the Air force physical and he has been super supportive. And considering my daughter was about to enlist into the Air force it helps her to see the respect and caring still being displayed out here as a civilian. So I salute you Sir great job and God Bless what a team at Golds Gym.

the sales person is really pushy, they bring in 2 or 3 different ppl to sell more and more, if You do not buy his expensive packages/programs he gets angry, I do not like the sales person.

Equipment is poorly maintained, whenI signed up the man selling me the membership told me to buy the more expensive plan because the start up price would be less and I could cancel 3months because I would probably lose interest or hurt myself and stop coming in that length of time.

This is a decent gym. Good parking, clean locker room, and the staff are always professional and available. The pool isn't as clean as it should be though. Went here once and there were used bandaids in the pool area (yuck!) and a second time there was a 3" long cockroach floating in the water (ew, ew, ew). The cleanliness of the pool area is the only reason for the 3 stars. I'll change it to a 5 star review once those issues are consistently resolved.

Billing system for this particular location is not customer service friendly. Had to deal with two months of back and forth with this location. Very disappointed in there systems for gym charges. Think carefully before you give them your credit card or debit card number.

Class are good trainers are good.BUT MANAGEMENT AND FRONT STAFF ARE RUDE AND INCONSIDERATE.IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE AND WANT TO STAY WITH GOLDS GO TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION.i called another location and they were glad to help me with my medical emergency.This location goes through management frequently.I guess they just cant find people who have customer service skills

I've been going to Golds gym for 4-5 years. I go primarily to Live Oak, FM78 and Bulverde.

At FM78 the GCX room is THE WORSE out of all the Golds gyms. The fans on high work lie they are on low. The ac is never on unless we ask for it to be turned on. Today it was a sauna and the guyst the front desk said the manager was gone so they couldn't turn the ac on. The rest of the gym was like an ice box compared to the GCX room

The WHOLE gym was remodeled EXCEPT no one replaced those tired fans that don't work and they need to have an independent ac system that instructors can turn on.

We were all suffocating in Zumba at 6:40pm today. We looked like we haf just come out of a sauna. We pay to go to Golds like the rest of the people. It's truly DISGRACEFUL!

First impressions of Gold's Gym at Hwy 78 location. . Dropped in for 1st time & explained my purpose: "Am a Member, our Gym in UC is closing 15 December & the membership is looking for another Gold's Gym to workout, wanted to make some inside photos without invading anyone's privacy." The clerk was non-hospitable, unfriendly, and said he would check the latter with the manager. The clerk returned with a flat no. Manager did not even bother to come out of his office to know who was making the request. As a member I could have toured the facility alone to find out what its features are, as well as inspect condition of fitness center. Why bother?

I have been a member of gold's gym for 5 years. I have been in most of gold's gyms in SA, this is by far the worst one ever. Starting with the old broken equipments, the sauna that works for one week and closed for two. Not mentioning the disrespectful staff crew. I ended my membership due to this gym. I am paying money every two week to receive a service, this gym dose not offer it.

Great improvements, really upset they did not replace the smoothie machine. Husband and I liked those with our meal preps. Should add it back to increase revenue and MAKE YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS happy.

I have been to other Gold's Gym locations and this one is by far the worst. I don't blame the staff that works there because I don't think they are in charge of when and if they can get new equipment (not sure how that works) however the equipment is soooooo bad. When I'm on the bikes I feel like the whole machine is just going to fall apart because I can hear and feel everything just squeaking and moving. The gym is so small and poorly kept, everything is so dirty and cheap. A lot of the machines aren't even the same it just seems like this location got the worst and left over equipment.
